Rice Plumbing and Heating

I know how rare itis to find someone who takes pride in his work and that is what ifound in Cory from RIce Plumbing and Heating!. Totally professional and went the extra mile to find the problem m8ssed by another company. And he contacted the manufacturer of the furnace and is working on my behalf. The company is prompt curtious keeps me informed even on the time he will arrive. Booties are worn to protect carpet there is concentrated work and no rushing. It's done methodically. And it's all explained. Reminds me of the work ethic of the old days and to find this in a young man and polite efficient customer service is so appreciated. I will be able to know share this good source with my neighbors. Its hard finding good reputable service.

Terrible. I didn't want to write this review, but it's become necessary. In December 2013, with my house at about 30 degrees, and my boiler not functioning, I called Rice. They came the next day, worked on it for a bit, but said I needed an electrician to figure out a short. They said they would return as soon as the electrician was done, and I paid them $152. The electrician came and fixed the short ($150) and called them to say they could come back. Two hours later, they called and said they were just too busy and I should call someone else and start over. I did, He made it work for a few days. Through Google and YouTube, I became more knowledgeable than I ever wanted to be and actually fixed my own boiler and it has been reliable since. I posted on yelp and of course, I received a call from Rice, apologizing for their irresponsible and inept behavior. They said they would refund my $152 if I would remove my post. I did, but no check came. I waited about a month and called them. She said she had just cut the check and it would be mailed the next day. It has been a few more months. I'm not going to call them again. If you want to use Rice Plumbing, go ahead. Good luck. You will need it.

Overall, Rice Plumbing and Heating is a B

I got an estimate of $150 for the parts and $150 for the labor. I ended up paying $405 dollars for the job. $225 for the labor. The workers didn't have the right tools for the job and had to go to a hardware store for the tools. One of them joked, "that's what you get when you take your tools out of your bag." They came back a half hour later. I would never use them again.
