He arrived on time (actually early), and did an excellent job. It took longer than expected but it had been years since it had been done before. We wouldn't hesitate to call again for dryer vent cleaning or AC cleaning.

The heater was refurbished by another company last summer (2014) for $1400.  In early November, the heater started cutting out.  I had a second company out to tune the heater.  All was well until late December when the heater started cutting out again.  The second company was called again to work magic, but they only tuned it and not very well.  By early last week, the heater died - no fire, no heat, no hot water.  I called Desert Air and they sent out Tim, who was there most of Thursday.  He really did refurbish the unit, including replacing the valve that wouldn't open entirely along with the other plumbing around the unit, adding a Tiger Loop to replace the return line to the tank, replacing the ignition system and blowing out the line to the tank with nitrogen.
Then he showed me where the concrete pad under the tank was failing and causing the tank to lower by 9-12".  He told me to keep the tank fuller than I had and to consider replacing the pad with a frame to raise the tank 4' above the ground (improve flow from the tank to the heater).  He could not finish the work until the tank was fuller to improve the flow (I only had the tank 20% full).  On Friday, I filled the tank and on Saturday (the weather was warm), Tim returned to fill the line (with suction) and check the entire system as it worked.
And work it does.  Hot shower and a warm house.  I can see the work that was done and the engineer part of me sees the logic of all that was accomplished.  Would that the first or second company had done that job the Desert Air did.  Thanks to Tim and all of Desert Air.
