There are two parts to Easy Rooter's septic tank pumping; one person digs up the septic tank lids and the following day another person comes out and pumps the tank. It is up to you to fill the holes back in unless you also contract for that service.
The young man who dug up the septic tank was an overall good guy and hard worker. He showed up on time and completed the job rapidly.
However, the following day the pump operator showed up over 2 1/2 hours late. The operator didn't speak English well and it was very hard for me to understand him. He kept saying something about the tank was full so there would be an extra charge since it would take him 3 hours. He worked from 10:40 to 11:40, then left without a word. I checked the tank and he had not completed the job. He returned at 1:30 and at 2:05 knocked on the door to tell me he was done. He wrote up the order showing the normal fee to pump the tank, $425.00, then listed 3 extra hours pumping time at $130.00 per hour ($390.00 total), plus an inspection fee of $120.00. If you do the math, he was only on site a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes total. As soon as I got him out of the back yard, I called Easy Rooter to complain about the bill. The woman I spoke with tried to argue that the pump operator told her he arrived an hour BEFORE he actually did and was there over 3 hours. After I explained I has kept track of the time due to his lateness, she adjusted the bill to 1 extra hour. I still felt that I was overcharged, but accepted $675.00 charge since I knew they didn't have an A rating to begin with but I needed the job done fast for a VA loan approval. I then went out to start filling in the holes and discovered that the pump operator had broken one of the lids in half. I immediately called the company back and while they did replace the lid, I felt that the pump operator was dishonest again since he left without telling anyone what he had done.
We were out of town for 10 days and called upon our return to schedule replacing the lid. The same young man who had dug up the tank returned on 6/11/15 and replaced the broken lid. He also apologized for the pump operator's behavior.
I later found out the the pump operator was blaming the broken lid on the young man who dug the holes. I again called the company and told them that I was standing there when the pump operator removed the lids and neither of them were broken. This makes 3 times I know of where the pump operator was lying and now I'm not sure that he actually finished the job!
I admit I feel sorry for the young man who actually did the manual labor of digging up the lids. He arrived on time, did his job correctly and was very courteous. He even used heavy plastic sheeting to place the dirt on so it wouldn't mess up the landscaping. It's a shame that his reputation has to be dragged down along with the company he works for. If I was only rating his performance, it would be straight A's!
On time. I have this done every couple of years. The guy they sent actually listened to what I had to say about where the block probably was and acted accordingly. Problem solved in short order. Have been using these people for years, however some technicians are better than others. Don't know if I should mention names, but Rudy or Jeremy.
"We are here to serve you so thank you for your trust and your business."
"Called the customer to follow up - according to Henry we did a good job 8-1-2014. We also took care of customer 3/19/2007 - we came to re-pour the concrete at no charge to make customer happy from the work we did on 10/19/2006 when dug and pump septic."

After they left from pumping, I asked the pumper when they would be back to replace the dirt they had excavated over the septic tank.
They wanted me to spend another $1,000 on my drainage system, but I had visions of them excavating my entire back yard and not replacing any dirt anywhere!! Thanks, but no thanks!
Three days later, when they had not returned, to replace the dirt, I called them, only to have them tell me that I had not paid for them to replace the dirt, (that would be potentially another $85). And that most owners prefer to put the dirt back themselves. I asked if they realized I was a single senior lady, and they didn't think that was relevant.
I spent the next week gradually shoveling all that dirt back over the septic tank.
Within two months, my system again backed up! They told me I was out of warranty.
Now, when I washed clothes, the waste water was coming out the clean out into my back yard. If I took a shower, it too came out the clean out in to the back yard (every day!!). Naturally, I tried to flush less, but it too came into the back yard. Then I was in a race to shovel that up and throw it into a trash bag, before my dog went snacking!
I called Rotor Rooter. They came the next day, and cleaned it out enough in one visit that no more
overflow from showering, flushing, nor washing clothes!!"We informed the customer that she needed both pumping and repairing or replacing her drainage field. She only wanted to pump our her septic tank which will only temporarily fix her problem. But we did what she requested with the full knowledge of future problems. We even cleaned roots from her clean out twice in 30 days just to help her out but she wanted us to do more extra work for free (but she's still not happy) We told her again that she needed to get her drainage system fixed which she refused so we did everything we can to make her happy but obviously she wanted us to do it for no cost. Within 2 month her system backed up again because of the main issue of her drainage field which we told her from the beginning but she obviously don't want that fixed. As we told her before that pumping her septic is a temporary fixed and it will back up again. We did our best, gave her more than she paid for but obviously we cannot work for free. She called Rotor Rooter and according to her that they fixed the overflow but that will again be temporary and she will have to face the problem again in a few months because the main issue is her drainage field."
