Cruz Painting Services

I am surprised that Cruz Painting ( Alberto 775-221-6096 ) doesn't have more recommendations. This company was recommended to me by my broker ( I'm a Realtor at Keller Williams Sparks) a while back when I needed a painter for one of my listings. Cruz gave me an estimate and did the job quickly. I recently asked for an estimate on my own house, again he came out right away. They did a great job. The crew were wonderful, just nice guys and very polite, very professional and from the chattering ( I don't speak Spanish) seemed to enjoy their job. Even though I didn't understand their chatting while working it was a happy chatter. One of the workers said they have worked for Cruz for 17 years, to me that speaks volumes. I highly recommend them !

Cruz Painting was scheduled to start Friday, but called Alberto called and requested to come on Thursday.  We had to scramble to get stuff out the way.
Alberto Cruz and I had discussed the fact  he would use top of line Sherwin Williams gloss latex paint; I checked and they did use the agreed upon paint.  The issue I had is the brushes looked like the kind I would use on a "quick one time throw away" use--and the quality showed.  There were several areas of brush fibers left in the paint.  The masking tape was thin tan stuff, not the good blue (or tan) tape made for painting. 
 Punch List: 

• Many of the doors and frames had chips painted over (not feather sanded).
• Paint on the door hardware, hinges, and vinyl floors.
• Several areas on the baseboard had loose paint where tape had been removed from the vinyl floor.
• Top of the door frames were not painted.  

What a bunch of monkeys!  I never knew who was in charge after the first day.  One of the guys borrowed my ladder (I never did see a Cruz ladder on the job site).  I keep pointing out defects by marking them with my blue tape.  Then after the end of second day and on into the third day they decided that spraying was the answer to a smooth finish.  It was a good thing we had most of our stuff in boxes because there was over-spray on everything.

Two employees were outstanding, three others were lazy, careless, and unprofessional. The finished exterior looks pretty good, but required my staying on the job and frequently pointing out missed areas, and unmatched walls.
