I contacted the Appliance Store requesting service for our refrigerator. It had stopped cooling in the refrigerator compartment. The coil located in that compartment was warm to the touch and should have been cold below freezing. There was also a noisy fan in the freezer compartment. The technician (who claimed to have 10 years experience) arrived and diagnosed the problem as the noisy fan. The part was ordered and a second repair visit was required at a cost of $290 for part and labor. After this, the refrigerator was still not cooling. On the third repair visit, the technician discovered there was a blockage in the freezer coil preventing the coolant from circulating through it and into the refrigerator coil. The cost of this repair was going to be $8,000. I confronted the owner as to why the blockage was not found on the initial repair visit. He kept claiming the fan needed to be replaced to circulate the cold air. Only there wasn’t any cold air to circulate since the coil was blocked from the beginning. Beware!
