About us
Welcome to VCA Feline Medical Center. We are is dedicated to providing the highest quality of healthcare for our patients and thorough education for our clientele. We achieve this through our compassion and use of advanced technology. Together we strive as a team to develop a diagnosis and sensible treatment plan for each patients health care issues. VCA Feline Medical Center [VCA FMC] was established in 1995 as Reno’s first and Northern Nevada’s premier cat exclusive veterinary hospital. Pursing his passion for all cats, Scott A. Thompson DVM sold his two prior veterinary hospitals in Redding California for one simple reason, “I no longer felt comfortable bringing my own cats to my own hospitals because of the barking dogs!” Dr. Scott A. Thompson selected the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center for this 2,880 sq. ft. facility to bring his now 32 years of Veterinary practice experience to Reno. In addition to being committed to raising the standard of feline healthcare in Northern Nevada, Dr. Thompson has also invested much of his time and resources establishing the personnel who share his mission for cats and their families. Our combined Veterinary staff provides 52 years Veterinary knowledge and experience; 25 years of that has been dedicated exclusively on cats! Equal time and resources have allowed the VCA FMC to equip the hospital with an incredible array of ever-evolving diagnostic and therapeutic instruments, tactics and protocols..
