I had existing hard maple hardwood in much of the house, that showed very little wear after 12 years. I wanted the same quality of durability in a new hardwood for the 600 sq. ft. Great Room, but with a different look. I contacted The HARDWOOD Flooring Company again for their assistance, after they had selected a great vinyl plank flooring for my Sun Room; but this time I was going to use their installers too, in order to insure the total job was completed promptly and certainly before Christmas.
Within a very short time, The HARDWOOD Flooring Company found a 7 1/2 inch wide plank of very hard maple hardwood with a lot of grain and SEALED knots that was very attractive. The extra width planks, heavy grain and sealed knots in this hard maple hardwood gave it a distinctive look, yet the same durability that I desired to match the existing hard maple hardwood in the house. In addition, I worked with this company to decide on installing this new hardwood across the current hardwood installation in the house; giving all flooring - a light color - yet durable floor, and also creating distinct room changes and differences. It looks great.
The installers from this company were fabulous, prompt and very cooperative - certainly knowing what they were doing. They had delivered the hardwood a few days earlier to let it acclimate to this area for a few days. Upon arrival, they had to first remove all the large furniture, as this had been included in the price; then they began to also remove all the old carpeting. They promptly and efficiently cut the carpeting into smaller pieces to remove it and then also removed the tack strip. In very short order, the floor was bare and ready for the hardwood.
They created a floating floor, by attaching the planks at the sides and started by strapping all planks together on the first day. They finished and cleaned-up in slightly over two days, including adding all trim strips at the fireplace, room entry and quarter-round at all the floors' edges, etc. Since these new planks were very colorful, with the sealed knots and heavy grain, they often checked my desire as to laying of specific boards, and also insured any damaged edges were trimmed-off before installing that piece. They made sure an entire box of all lengths was remaining, for potential replacement use over time.
I was extremely happy with the finished product, and feel it was mainly due to my reliance on the hardwood supplier to select both the correct wood and installers; that was The HARDWOOD Flooring Company. This entire scenario was painless to me, as The HARDWOOD Flooring Company and their installers made sure I had everything I desired; I would readily use them again, since they're so friendly and dependable, as well as carrying all types of flooring and most of the finest quality products for use in a home.
I did not use this company's installer, so the cost shown is just for materials. This was a mistake, as this company only uses excellent installers, for their distinctive and high-quality products, and often watch-over/check-on the installation; which I found-out upon my more recent, second dealing with this company.
This product was glued directly upon the cement, after carpet/ceramic tile was removed, and has been the perfect surface for maintainability; it looks like real wood planks, yet can be cleaned with a wet mop or just dusted and looks great.
This company has many of the highest-quality products, and also a huge selection of all types and cost ranges of flooring - hardwood, laminate, vinyl and carpeting; their name is almost a misnomer. They will gladly assist you with this huge variety to ensure you get exactly what you want.
