Delayed delivery - items did not fit right. Called many times to get them exchanged - no response at all. Would never use again!!

We used The Blind Man last year to clean our blinds; friendly, professional, prompt. They did a fantastic job at VERY reasonable prices. Also knowledgeable about the product. Plus ... The Blind Man has been in Reno for many, many years. Support local business especially when the quality is superb !!!

Everything was fine until I saw the final product. There is over 1" gap from side to side in each panel so that the fabric does not cover the entire window. Fabric is fine - a good match to existing coverings but the gaps make the expensive custom job look like I bought them off the shelf! I texted the owner to let him know that I was not satisfied with the product due to the gaps; he texted me back stating that the fabric was a match. I texted him back and reiterated that the fabric is fine but that the measure was obviously off as evidenced by the gaps. I have not heard from him since. He took a down payment AND final payment (that I left for him on the day of installation since I was at work and not at home and he cashed it before I got home and saw the results) so I guess I am out that money. Now I must save up again to have them re-done by someone else. This is a serious matter and I am wondering now if I should seek legal advice.

"Manufacture take deductions off of submitted sizes. The headrail was snug on both side of shade The gaps she refers to are from manufacturer They do this because of the tendency of construction to not make windows perfectly square. It would not have made any difference in final product if she had purchased from any other Hunter Douglas distributor. And I did call her back and explained all of this to her."

"I am sorry customer had such a terrible experience. I have checked my calander for that date July 2, 2014??? Year ago. And every day for three months on either side of that date and DID NOT find customer on schedule. I can only guess that she/ he had another company do their work. By records it was NOT The Blind Man. There are a couple of other companies in Reno, people often get us confused. If customer can prove it was my company I will refund the full amount they We're charged."

The blinds were broken and new blinds are expensive. I found this guy and he comes to the house, takes the blinds, fixes them and puts them up again like new, at a fraction of the cost of new blinds. It was great.

I asked if he could fix the pulls that had been broken. He he told me no, he didn't do that.
He charged way too much. I told him the blinds were dripping water and it was dripping down the windows. He didn't wipe them. He told me basically that's just how it goes.

"To lay some ground work for what follows. I have just spent two hours going through my appointment calendars for months of January. 2013 to August 2014. Looking for the alleged appointment on Beaumont. What I DID NOT find was ANY appointment on Beaumont for any kind of work, cleaning or repairs. Customer says work was cleaning and took place on April 27,2013 (why did she wait over 15 months to post this complaint) Her report was posted July 28,2014. Next there is the day of the week, April27,2013 was a Saturday. I NEVER schedule a large cleaning job on a Saturday. Thinking she meant April 27,2014. That is a Sunday. I don't work on Sunday. So what to think, 1. She is mistaken about who she had in her home. 2 it was not important enough to react quicker. 15 months? I am sorry she had an unpleasant experience with one of my competitors, but I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SERVICES. We pride ourselves on expert careful cleaning. We do perform repairs which seemed to be one of her point of contention. But I repeat, it wasn't me Charlie Does customer have a receipt from us? She can contact me or fax me a copy at 775 851-2007."

"Customer must have my company confused with another. Service was Oct 26,2013 at 3:30 in afternoon. Check received from customer was for $106.49. This is price of small (under 36 x48 inch) blind. One blind. Or I installed customer's blinds. Price tells me one small new blind. Sorry she wasn't very thrilled that she gave me poor grades. She has never called to allow me to correct her complaint."

Last year we had him come out and replace the cord that broke in the blind. This year the other cord of the same blind broke. When he came out he said he only replace one of the cords the last time. I was very surprised so had him replace the cord. The new blind cord is too short now and doesn't work right.
He came today after having to call 4 times. He said he wasn't go to put a new cord in that is just the way it was going to be. Then stated the window was not straight and that is way it didn't work right. I have lived in this house 15yrs!!!
He then yelled at me and was very rude so I ask him to leave my home. He pick up his tools and left. Couldn't have care less that the blind still was not right. I Paid $100 total!

"Customers blind was top down bottom up. Last year I restrung top down feature this year restrung bottom up feature. Two different Jobs. I tried to explain that a 15 year old house settles and that windows once close to square get out of square. Customer didn't Like what I was saying and started taking offense over whatever I tried to explain. I make no excuse for length of time to get back to her. I can't talk while driving and I won't answer the phone in a customers home which is in polite to the customer. I am a naturally loud speaker because my hearing is declining. I am 72. If it seemed to be yelling to her it wasn't. I did indeed leave as soon as she instructed me to do and apologized as I left. Can't blame her for being upset but I don't feel like she got less then the best work in this town."

The blind guy(guys) were polite, funny, and most importantly they know blinds! They removed, cleaned, restrung as needed, and rehung every blind in my house. Most of my blinds are the wide kind, around 72 inches. The one that needed restringing is even wider. I can't remember the exact amount I paid. Either $200 or $250, or a little more. But I think for the size and amount of windows I have, it was a more than fair price. My blinds were embarrassingly dirty. Now, my blinds look like new! It brightens up the whole house. I kick myself that I didn't call them sooner. Thank you Blind Guy!

I utilized the drop-off service - I contacted him, described the issue to confirm it was something that sounded fixable, then delivered my blinds on his front step with a note and check. Just like magic, I get a call a few days later that the work is done, and I swing by to pick up the blinds. I finally met him in person last time - he's in and out so not always present. The first time it felt a little odd to just leave them, but the location is secure and he came highly recommended to me. I haven't been disappointed. Beats buying new blinds - especially when you've purchased quality in the first place it seems the fix is minor and relatively inexpensive. Makes me feel fiscally smart AND eco-conscious.

I had two cellular blinds that I was sure I was going to have to throw in the trash. The pull strings on both were broken, and the locking mechanism on one (the long $300 one) was broken by the renters. Roy set an appointment with me, showed up on time, took the blinds with him, and did the repairs. He replaced the broken parts, put a new/used headrailon one, restrung them, and delivered them ahead of the estimated delivery date. In addition, he was able to locate some mounting brackets for other blinds I had. I would not hesitate to call him again.

The strings on my blinds had been bitten off by my cat. He came out and restrung the blinds and installed new hangers to wrap the string around so that the cat could not get to them. I have had to get the strings restrung many times costing a lot. Since the The Blind Man was here and his idea of installing the hangers, I have not had to called him to come out and fix them again.
