Miracle Method - Reno/Tahoe

Great! It looks wonderful now. Jim had refinished another tub for me about 7 or 8 years ago and it still looks good. (aside from a few chips that I created by dropping things in the tub). Jim is very professional and takes great pride in his work. He is conscientious about his work and is determined to produce a finished project of which he can be proud.

Jim is phenomenal!  He did a magnificent job refinishing my fiberglass tub and surround-walls.  Everything looks brand new, and so clean.  Jim also removed the old glass shower doors and hardware, so I can use a shower curtain instead.  He cleaned up quite nicely - no mess left behind.  Jim is a joy to talk to.  Working with contractors is sometimes challenging for me, and Jim made the experience quite positive.  He truly takes pride in his work every step of the way and is a master of his craft. 

Jim and I had a few scheduling conflicts, but we were finally able to find a time that worked for both of us. He was very personable and friendly over the phone and when he arrived. He did a remarkable job repairing the dent and also matching the existing color of the tub. He was in and out within an hour. I would highly recommend his services and would use him again for any future bathtub repairs.

Our 15 year old  tiled master shower had seen better days. It was in bad shape, with mildewed stained wall grout, and a completely worn out, stained shower pan. We used Jim at Miracle Method to completely re-surface the shower pan and replace the crumbing grout that attached the shower pan to the wall tile. The wall tiles were in decent shape, but the grout  in between was also worn and dirty.  Jim recommended a local company, Grout Pro, who came in afterwards to repair and stain the wall grout to match the resurfaced shower pan. We are very happy with the results, and now the entire shower looks fresh, clean and brand-new again. This solution was affordable, and the entire process went very smooth, with Jim explaining every step along the way. He was professional, on time,  cheerful, and seems to truly enjoy his work, which isn't always the case when you hire out for a service. 
Before reviewing, we wanted to wait a bit to see how it would wear, and now, after 6 months, we can report that it still looks as good as the day they finished. And its been easy to keep clean too.
Our costs for Miracle Method were $785, which included the pan re-surfacing,  removal and disposal of the old shower pan and door, and a complete re-grout /encasing of the pan's attachment to the wall. Jim even repaired the holes in the wall tile, left by the old framed shower door, so when the new frameless door was installed, it  looked seamless and matched perfectly. This wasn't something we even knew needed to be done, but we are sure glad he noticed and suggested such a reasonable fix. It would have been impossible to repair, once the new door went up!
Grout Pro's regrout/grout stain portion was about $300, which brought the entire shower refresh, minus a new door,  to around $1100. This was a fraction of what we were quoted, to re-tile the bath, and faster too, we were only down about 5 days.  So, if you are more or less happy with your old shower, in terms of look (you won't change the 4 x 4 tile into 12 x 24 unfortunately) and need repairs beyond do-it-yourself ones, this is a great option, It was a fraction of the cost of re-tiling, quicker, and kept all that existing perfectly good tile out of land fill too.
 
Only downside was, the Miracle Method resurfacing part was a bit stinky,  and the fan to air things out a bit loud, so if you are sensitive to either odor or noise,  be prepared to sleep in another room for a few days, if your master bedroom is adjacent to the bath.

My house was built in 1911. I have old cast iron ceramic-coated
bathtub that had chips and the glaze was entire worn away.  
I contacted Miracle Method in October 2014.  Jim Shelton arrived on time and with a  smile. He did a thorough evaluation of the tub and marble surround and explained the cleaning, repair and finishing process in detail.  He explained the entire process would take about two maybe three days. The entire house was undergoing complete renovation with several phases of repair and our timeline was flexible.  In addition, I was managing this renovation project from Virginia, 2500 away. At the time, the new HVAC system had just finished being installed and had not been activated yet and it was 40 degrees in the house. Jim explained that in order get the tub epoxy to set the ambient temperature would need to be at least 68 degrees. 
Jim stated he could start when it was convenient for my renovation schedule and when the heat was on consistently.  He was able to give an estimate on site and we set a date for the following month, November 2014.
Due to the flexibility of the project, Jim was able to work on the tub and marble in between his own scheduled appointments.  Jim finished the job in three days. 
I was not able to see the finished product until April of 2015 when I made a trip to Reno to oversee the final details of the whole house renovation. Jims? work did not disappoint. The tub looked brand new. Simply amazing! And the marble was gleaming!

Jim was great to work with and very accommodating. I would hire Jim Shelton with Miracle Method again and highly recommend him for any bathtub restoration needs.  He does beautiful work at a fair price.

Miracle method is the awesomest! That's right...I said awesomest! An idiot from Ira Hanson plumbing completely ruined our vintage cast iron tub with toxic chemicals. Poop face Ira Hanson had some jack wagon moron he uses to fix such blunders...the examples of his work were atrocious! We were beside ourselves about this disaster. We literally went to every tub refinisher in town and looked at their work and product. We saw examples of Miracle Method and felt a slight ray of hope. Jim, the local franchise owner came out and was the friendliest person ever! His craftsmanship was remarkable! He took the time it took to get it perfect. I'm super fussy about craftsmanship especially with something like this. Miracle Method and Jim surpassed my wildest expectations! If you need your tub refinished...this is your far-and-away your best choice!

Jim repaired the cracks so they were invisible when he did the primer coat so I knew it would turn out great. He even found 2 more cracks that I did not see and fixed those as well. He kept me informed and inspecting his work to make sure I was satisfied with each step. He had no problem adding another coat to the final color coat to get the color match just right! I am so pleased and I love the roughnes of the finish so I don't need a shower mat to keep from slipping. The shower pan was white and the tile overall brown. Now it all looks like it was planned from the beginning.The shower has become a selling point of the home.
    I was skeptical  about this miracle method but I am confident with all Jim's preparation and expertise it will last a long time. He guaranteed it for 5 years and that is more than most other guarantees. Jim brought me samples and told me to live with my choices. When I narrowed it down to 2 he brought me larger samples of the actual finish.  I am very happy with the results
I would recommend him and plan to use him again.

Both the bathtub and kitchen sink look wonderful! Jim works so hard and does a very fine job! He even offered to put me up in a hotel when I complained about the fumes at the end of the first day of refinishing( the fumes did become manageable later that day as promised)I would definitely recommend this company after using two other re finishers with disastrous results...I wished I would have done my research on these companies before I hired them. I used Miracle Method because of the positive reviews on this site.

  Well, it's been almost a year now that Jim refinished my bathtub and stripped my kitchen sink and after following Jim's advise on care....they look as good as the first day! This is the guy to hire...couldn't be happier!!!

Jim from Miracle Method is a fricken TREASURE. We've been redoing out 1949 knotty pine cabin in Tahoe and have had both good and bad experiences with local contractors and tradespeople. Jim stands out as being among the most honest, hard working, helpful and affordable people we have worked with. He did a beautiful job on our tired 1949 cast iron tub with chrome trim, and it's 1970s heavy-duty, floor to ceiling fiberglass surround... it's BIG. It looks like a spa now. AND he's a pleasure to have around the house, hooked us up with our window people who were also great, and came in at least $200.00 below what we prepared to spend. This is an honest, fair, friendly, hardworking man who does great work.... You can't go wrong.

I was very late to the appointment and Jim was very nice and not at all upset. He was very professional, explained everything in great detail and did a fantastic job. It has been 6 months and I am extremely happy with the results. The tub looks brand new, cleans easily and he gave me tips to ensure that the new finish lasts as long as possible. I would DEFINITELY use him again!

They were hard to get ahold of and schedule but once that was done, he showed up on time and did a good job. Price was reasonable and gave me a lower price then the estimate. All in all, did a great job.

Simply amazing! Jim refinished our vintage tub that was destroyed by Ira Hansen Plumbing. We researched and looked at work samples for EVERY tub refinisher in town...Jim and Miracle Method were far and away the best. It cost a bit more than some, but I would have to say it is the best money I ever spent. The tub looked better than before the fool at Ira Hansen carelessly melted the bottom out of our cast iron and porcelain tub with some crazy acid drain cleaner. The warranty is next to none! A+++++++++

I can't say enough about how professional Jim was and what a great job he did on the old bath/shower. By having Miracle Method refinish the fixture, we saved well over a thousand dollars and ended up with what looks like a brand new bathtub/ shower combination. I could not be happier with the work or with the professional and expeditious service that was provided. I would recommend Jim and Miracle Method without reservation.

It couldn't have been more perfect. Love JIm! He did a beautiful and perfect job. I used the "other" Reno tub guy to do the initional job, but Jim was the one who came out and "wanted" to do the touch up and redo chips job. Jim returns calls promptly and is very professional. He does what he says he is going to do. Love the job. Will continue to use him when my refinished tubs and wall tiles need touch ups.

Jim showed up at the property and was quite knowledgeable and had several ideas. We had a shower that we thought was cement. It turned out to be very rough fiberglass and the whole thing looked like it was covered in mold. Jim recommended that he would sand and seal the entire shower and then had us pick out a coating that we liked. Once we picked out the coating he insisted that he wanted to make a larger sample so we could see it better. A couple of days later he returned with a few samples that were huge but gave us a much better idea of how it would look. The work took 5 days mostly due to access of the condominium but when Jim was done it was beautiful. He kept to his original price even after adding some finishing touches that we had not expected. Jim added a built in shelf and soap dish and carried the finish out to the edge of the wall, it was a small addition that made the whole job look much more finished

In the past we had used 2 other firms that do bathroom refinishing. It was always a disaster both from a professional standpoint and the inferiority of their products and workmanship. After seeing numerous ads for Angies list I thought I wouild give it a try. That's when I found Miracle Method. I struck gold with this firm.
Jim from Miracle Method always responds promptly to our calls. He is professional and is prompt for all appointments. When he refinishes our tubs, they look like brand new and it saves us alot of money, as we do not have to remodel the bathrooms. He works well with the tenants and is flexible with all his arrangements so as not to inconvenience anyone. I cannot speak highly enough where this company is concerned.

A wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Jim arrived as scheduled and carefully prepped the whole area to protect everything in the bathroom. He then proceeded with the preparation and spraying of the tub. The smell is not the greatest but is well worth the time and effort to do it. As the glaze dries the smell disapates. Plus they ventilate the room well with a fan system they bring. Unfortunately, this bathrooom has no window so the tubing had to be taken across the hall and placed in the window there. The next day, Jim arrived as scheduled and finished the job. He leaves the area totally clean. I accidentally knicked the tub in a couple of places with a ladder while painting and Jim came back and fixed the spots for free and you cannot even see they were there. I am extremely pleased with my experience and the results.

It was done in a timely manner. They showed up right on time every time. It looks like it's brand new! We decided to buy a new shower door for it, and unbeknownst to us, they did not install new doors, they could only replace the one that was there, because all the parts were cut to fix. They refunded us $100 to have it done elsewhere, which we thought was very fair.

I had origianlly scheduled with another local company After two frustrating months and two appointments in which this other company never showed I scheduled with Miracle Method and am very pleased with the results.
