Chris Grant Flooring

Everything went extremely smooth. The crew was super nice and Chris was always checking in. They Demo'd the old carpet and installed new floors and new baseboards in our kitchen, living room, dining room, entryway, entry closet, hallway and laundry room. We had a little delay with product that was damaged but Chris and crew were quick and very helpful getting it rectified. I loved the time they put into the little details which is important to us. We will definitely hire them again when we want to do our bedrooms.

They did all the prep work and demo, then were able to seamlessly transition and install new laminate flooring, which was identical to the laminate in the great room.  Although the great room laminate was eight years old, the newly purchased laminate matched perfectly.  They used great skill to weave the new in with the old at the transition point.  They did great work and we will use them again.

I have a two story house that is 16 years old and needed the
carpet replaced throughout.  I purchased
the laminate previously and just needed to have it installed.  I solicited bids from four vendors in the area.  Chris came out and measured everything, and discussed
different ways that he could install the flooring based on the layout of the
rooms.  Chris took his time measuring and
made sure to include me in the process so that I had a clear understanding of
the approach he was going to take during the installation.  Chris? attention to detail was impressive,
and two days later I received a formal proposal for the job.  It was obvious that Chris was extremely knowledgeable
about flooring, and the proposal was very through and detailed, covering labor
and material, as well as the cost to remove the old carpet and haul it away.
The job involved laminate flooring over about 2000 sq ft, on
two floors, with a set of stairs that would be carpeted.  I hadn?t purchased the carpet and Chris was
very helpful in providing a list of vendors from whom we could purchase the
carpet, and Chris was able to provide the carpet padding at a very reasonable
price.
Chris? job prices are very fair, and everything was
disclosed upfront so there were no surprises, or hidden costs, later during the
job.
I travel a lot on business, and wanted this job to be done
when I was home.  Chris was very accommodating
and scheduled the job for a week when I would be home.
When Chris? crew showed up to start the job I was very impressed
by their professionalism and friendliness. 
They worked very quickly and efficiently.  Throughout the job Chris? crew showed up on
time and left the house as neat and clean as possible at the end of the day.
It was obvious throughout the job that Chris and his crew
take great pride in producing quality work. 
They wanted to do everything possible to make sure that I was happy and
satisfied.  From the start of the job
until the end they arrived promptly and got right to work.  They are very professional, and this professionalism
was reflected in the outcome of the job. 
The floors and stairs were beautiful, and I am completely satisfied with
the results.  The bottom floor has a lot
of different angles due to some columns, and from a bathroom.  These angles were a concern to me, but Chris
worked his way around the angles with no problem.  He did a really beautiful job.
At the conclusion of the job I was extremely pleased with
the results.  Every aspect of the job, from
the removal of the old carpet, the preparation of the sub-floor, the laying of
the laminate and carpet, and the painting and installation of new floor molding
was expertly done.  The master bedroom
and bathroom remain to be done.  I will
schedule that job sometime in the fall, and Chris is the flooring professional
I will use.  I would recommend Chris and
his crew to anyone needing a flooring professional.
The job was completed on time and on budget.

The quality of work was not perfect, but certainly well above average.  My biggest problem is follow up.  For example, one heater vent opening in tile was cut too narrowly for the register to fit.  After two no-call no-shows to fix it, I gave up, bought a tip for my Dremel, and did it myself.  Also, for some reason they kept trying to talk us out of stuff - for example, installing heat pads under the tile floor, and doing flush heater vent registers in the wood floor.

Chris was a referral from the flooring company I purchased some expensive laminate flooring from.  I contacted him and was rewarded with a quick turnaround call.  Chris and I discussed flooring types, negatives and pluses of flooring brands and styles, and he was very good at giving me some ideas on what choices would work and which wouldn't.  He professionally quoted me on the job, and when I was able to finally choose the product I wanted, he worked with flooring vendor on quantity and needed additional pieces.
I called Chris on several occasions with questions before the work was done, and he returned calls promptly.  In addition, I believe his pricing was very reasonable considering I also asked him to replace the trim around the room, and re-paint it as well. He gave me good direction on the choice of which way to lay the flooring, and it's apparent he knows his business.
Chris showed up for his appointment timely, completed the work in a professional manner, cleaned his mess, and I cannot be happier with both the product I selected and the installation.
I will be using Chris and his company in the future for any new installations.  It was a pleasure having him do the work.

Chris and his crew were professional and efficient. It is apparent that Chris has a lot of experience in carpet installation and he made sure he had an experienced installer for the laminate. Because we have an older home, there were some surprises when the work started but they were able to handle it. We got status reports whenever we asked for them and when we pointed out any concerns, Chris listened to them and took care of them.
Overall, it was a good experience.

Through the whole process, Mr. Grant was cheerful, straightforward, and honest. He discussed flooring materials with us and guided us to an excellent choice. We also think he negotiated a favorable price on the flooring material. Mr. Grant adhered to his cost estimate, and started and finished the job on an agreed-on schedule. We are fully satisfied with the new flooring and the installation.
