I took off work to be home to oversee installation. I was told most of work would be completed first day and I wouldn't need to be present second day. The salesman I met with, Steve Carter, knew I was going out of town on Friday night, 3/16/2104, and because my dog was stolen out of my yard it was imperative that the job be completed prior to my departure. It was not. Tiberti Fence installers did not show up at the agreed upon time on Wednesday, 3/12/2014 scheduled date. I had to call 3 times to make inquiry when they were going to come out. I was finally told the same salesman Steve Carter incorrectly entered the job to be installed 4/12/2014. When installers finally arrived at 2:00 pm they had no instructions or layout of the approved job. The quoted job was for (which the first set of installers did not do): 1. remove all 3' chain link fence, replace with 5' chain link and install 5' swing gate in front of driveway. 2. remove 4' poles and chain link fence and install 5' poles and chain link fence 3. cut down an un-used mailbox for proper gate pole placement (did not cut down mailbox so pole placed in wrong location) 4. build 5' swing gate (built 4' instead) 5. insert gate posts in location agreed upon by customer and salesman The salesman knew I was going out of town on Friday night, 3/16/2104, and job had to be completed prior to my departure. It was not. The first day installers came they had no instructions or layout of the approved job. All they knew is they were installing 5' chain link poles and fence around my front yard. Several times I had to ask the senior installer to call and confirm what the job entailed. He complained to me and cursed when he walked away to call. Incorrectly they had started installing 5' chain link fence parallel to neighbors 3' chain link fence when it was the salesman's recommendation to sleeve over the existing 3' poles and only have one fence so debris would not be caught between the two fences. Neighbor had given permission to remove his 3' fence, but installers did not believe me. When I stopped them I told them again what was supposed to be done and requested they call salesman again to confirm, they got mad at me and hastily and sloppily removed what they had already installed and cursed loud enough I could hear them in my home while they were putting poles in proper locations. When they left for the day I had to clean up all the material debris left behind in my driveway and in the street. The second day, while I was at work, a different installer came to remove 4' chain link and poles. This installer did the job correctly and professionally. The existing 4' poles were cut down level to the concrete. New concrete was poured into and smoothed over old poles so well it is hardly notable and would not pose a danger if anyone walked over it. The new 5' poles were placed in the correct locations and new concrete was smoothed and leveled extremely well. This is the best appearing area of the entire job. I had already I left out of town and only the 5' fencing had been erected, NOT the 5' swing gate because they made a 4' swing gate, and I had no way to secure my dog in the yard, therefore I had to have a dog sitter stay at the house who made unfortunately made unauthorized changes to the job. The installers, whom I had met face to face, knew she was not the home owner but they made the unauthorized changes without checking with the salesman first nor did anyone contact me, the paying customer. So poles were removed and replaced without my knowledge or authorization. Consequently a new set of 5' swing gates had to be manufactured. The cement that was poured for the gate poles footings was done so sloppily. It is grossly apparent this person did not even attempt to smooth the concrete or remove non-concrete debris or rocks. The cement footings are extremely jagged and ugly. Wish I could post photos. Two top rails are so crooked Tiberti Fence should be embarrassed. The center pole that is used to secure the swinging gates is not seated deep enough into the ground so the locking section does not line up and I have to lift the swing gate to align it. The right swing gate pole cement footing is cracked and the entire pole and gate leans 2 3/4" inward. It is to crooked when I close the gate I have to lift, pull and struggle to secure the gates. Of course several verbal apologies have been made by Steve Carter, the salesman, but no offer to fix the problems has been offered or considered when I requested. Instead I was reminded twice how much money the salesman lost due to the mistakes and un-authorized changes made by the installation department. No acknowledgement of fault for making unauthorized changes to the layout was made either. I had quotes from other fence companies which were $300 - $600 dollars less. The only reason I hired Tiberti Fence is because my neighbor also used them 4 years ago and their fence and gate look great. Why they did such a poor job for me leave me heartbroken. Wish I had used one of the less expensive companies.
Description of Work: Job was to remove all 3' chain link fence, one section of 4' chain link poles and fence and install 5' chain link fence and build 5' swing gate.
