Beyond awful! Moe Carroll, the Operations Manager, was the nicest man--reassuring me that his measurements for the new cabinets were perfect and that I would get "the kitchen that I deserved." He apparently decided, after being paid, that I deserve a new kitchen that doesn't look much better than the old one. The only thing that was done right was the removal of my old cabinets. The installation of the new ones began with Comanche's "master carpenter" placing my upper cabinets right up to the ceiling--which meant that I'd only be able to access the lowest shelf! These came down, then were installed 11" lower. But when they reached the corner cabinet, it wouldn't fit--no one had looked at the blueprint or artistic renderings that were to guide them, and so there was a three-inch gap. Moe blamed Lowe's, Lowe's blamed Moe's measurements--but it doesn't really matter who got it wrong. It now had to be made right. So down came the cabinets (again), and I have a three-inch gap at the wall, which Moe said he'd fill in but never did. In the meantime, Rene, Comanche's subcontractor for painting, textured my walls over the existing wallpaper. There was an additional $400 for this, which I paid directly to Rene. The following day, the wallpaper started bubbling up behind the texturing. Moe was livid at Rene (or at least pretended to be), and assured me that the painter would be back to correct this. Needless to say, that didn't happen. When it was time for the measurements to be taken for my new countertops (an outside job), Moe realized that the two lower corner cabinets were in the wrong places! This was on its way from being a joke to being a disaster. As no plumbing subcontractor was available to re-set my kitchen sink and bring a water line to my refrigerator, Moe and one of his workers took this on themselves. What should have been a simple (if messy) task became an ongoing project. When my kitchen sink was at last in place (but not the water line to the fridge), I turned on my dishwasher and began to rinse out my coffee pot. The flood emanating from under my sink had me on the phone to Moe before he'd even reached the exit gate of my complex. He returned, turned off the water (it was, by now, after 8:00 PM), and told me he'd return the next day to fix this problem. Which he did. But still no water line. Still no handles on the drawers and cabinet doors (even though I'd purchased the template Moe said he needed). Still no dog door. Still no filler pieces for the three-inch gap. Still no Rene. I tried calling and calling, and sending email after email, but to no avail. Then as I was sleeping off yet another stress-induced migraine, there was a knock at my door. "I'm here to install the water line to your refrigerator." No advance phone call, nothing. Had Moe not mentioned this subcontractor's name to me, I never would have let him in. The gap between the cabinets and wall, the wallpaper bubbling up, the water stain on the new cabinet under my kitchen sink, no molding, no handles . . . this is bad enough. But the worst is that I put my trust into Moe Carroll and paid him a lot of money for a shoddy and unfinished job. This may have been a minor, annoying project for him (and he probably shouldn't have taken it on), but for me, I was shelling out a small fortune for what will undoubtedly be my last kitchen. I was misinformed repeatedly about what services would be done. I was ignored as soon as I wrote out that last check, even though there was still work to be performed. I now have to hire someone else to do what I've already paid to have done!
Description of Work: Removal of old kitchen cabinets, installation of new cabinets, texturing/painting, plumbing, electrical. Install new kitchen vent. Install dog door.
