After spending thousands at their hospital, I needed to have my dog buddy euthanized. I made an appointment and asked if i could do it outside because i didn't want to get emotional around allot of people. They new this was hard for me. I even cancelled one time right after i made the appointment because i couldn't go through with it. I even started to cry when i was on the phone making the appointment. When i got there, they were not even close to being prepared for me. I was treated like a walk in appointment. They left me waiting outside until i couldn't take it anymore. Then they said they could not do it because they had an emergency. They should have been ready with a needle as soon as I got there. This was a horrible situation. These are the most insensitive doctors around. They are all young and inexperienced. They over charge. Usually vets give you two options for treatment. One cost less for the minimum treatment, and one cost more for the best treatment for people that can afford the full treatment. There min and max treatment are the same. There was rarely a cheaper option for me. My other dog Chucky had a cloudy eye. They never gave me a straight answer for the cause. They were just guessing, and the medicine didn't work. They tried a second time but nothing worked. Then they still charged me for the euthanasia, event though i never entered the building. Weeks later i see the charge. When i called them they said they had refunded it. Luckily I had the sense to push her into looking in to it, and found they never processed the refund. I'm so angry at what these doctors did to me. They staff is very nice. I'm sure that's why they get good reviews. Their doctors are very intensive, inexperienced, and the place is mismanaged.

My dog has been experiencing a weird vaginal irritation. After a week of constant and annoying licking, I decided to take her to the vet closest to my house, which was the Caminoal Norte Animal Hospital. They were very welcoming and the vet was very nice and understanding. However, I paid over 150 dollars ($40 for the consultation, $35 for antibiotics, and $75 in misc test) just for them to tell me what it might be, but no clear diagnosis. They later called afew days to tell me the results of the urine analysis they performed. They said my dog might have crystals in her urine, and that she should eat a special dog food, which cost me another $25. I don't understand why they would make you pay for a consultation. Even though they are friendly, it is not worth their expensive services. You might want to try to haggle with them to see if they can lower the prices or ask for payment plans. At least their neutering prices are very reasonable.

Camino Al Norte has been really good. One of our dogs was blind, and another had glaucoma. They've treated just about everything. Their prices are reasonable because we've been going to vets for a long time. I can get the dogs into the vet anytime. Their professionalism is very good.

Explained in some detail above. This is an important posting because unlike mere service issues, this resulted in the needless killing, outlined in some detail by the great manager, Dr. XXXX, but this is a horrible CORPORATE OWNED facility and this use of lawyers to attack clients after killing one for no reason is getting too typical.
We need to stay with local doctor owned and managed facilities. Corporate franchise operations like this do not work and are not the least bit responsible to the customer.

The have very good hours, they are very courteous, polite, and they are thorough. I like the fact that they also have boarding facilities, their prices are extremely reasonable, and overall it is a very good place to use.

Even if I moved/lived across the city, I would still bring our animals here!

We arrived approximately 1/2 hour before the office closed and there were several people waiting. They got us all checked in and into exam rooms very quickly. We only waited a short time before the vet tech came in to get vitals. Dr. Varela came in maybe 5 minutes after that and discussed the treatment plan. He took the time to anwer all of our questions and seemed genuine with our dog. We did not feel rushed or pressured at all. We've been in Las Vegas for almost 8 years and this is the only animal hospital we've gone back to. We've had a lot of "first" visits at other places but haven't felt comfortable with any until now. We go back to Camino Al Norte Animal Hospital because we feel that they do a very good job and care about our dogs.

The only problem with them is that they tend to push veterinary services on you. It's hard to go in and get the vaccination without getting a hard sell. When you have the appointment, they take you back and give the shot. Then, they give the exam, which is when they try to get the extra services in.
