In 2018 we bought our inground pool from Anthony & Sylvan Pool for over $45,000, less that 4 years later we are dealing with Plaster Delamination that is causing calcium nodules, this is volcano-like blisters that break, and they are all over our pool, this is because there is a void or cavity between the plaster and the inner shell or a bond failure, due to poor craftsmanship/not applying the plaster correctly. Adams Pool Solutions was hired by Anthony & Sylvan to do the plaster, and both say that it is not their problem, so basically they are telling us that we need to pay to get our new pool resurfaced. I feel as if both of these companies ripped us off. Filed a BBB complaint and a consumer complaint with the state contractors Board. Adams said that they will be out on the 28th of April to give us a bid on resurfacing our pool. Your company cause this, your employees applied the plaster incorrectly. POOLS DO NOT NEED TO BE RESURFACED LESS THE 10 TO 15 YEARS OLD!!!

Bottom line, I do NOT recommend using Adams pool. We started this pool/spa project in December 2016. The Pool/Spa was just finished the first week of August 2017. Here are the details. The Salesman Bernie was personable and seemed trust worthy. A good old boy as a Yelp review describes him. As we discussed the contract details In December 2016, Bernie recommend that we use someone named Guillermo ( P F J Inc.) for portions of the Pool/Spa project. This relationship between Bernie with Adams pool and Guillermo seemed to also be in the good old boy category. I agreed with Bernies recommendation and contracted with Guillermo for our pool/spa coping and stone work and deck tile. In retrospect, I should have wondered why Bernie was steering work and money away from Adams pool by advising us to use another contractor. All during the project, supervisor mike from Adams pool would comment that he has never seen this many mistakes made on their other pools. From minor mistakes like the instruction label on the control panel door being upside down, to major mistakes like the Spa steps being crooked and not square. Also, functional design errors like placing the filter unit in a position that makes it hard to reach when accessing the cartridges for cleaning. During the pool/spa construction in February, I noticed that some of the wooden forms for the concrete pour were not parallel or square. I took pictures and personally informed the project supervisor mike. He assured me that all would be ok in the end. Our household has a background in Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, and Aviation. However, one doesn’t need such education to observe that the lines or the forms were not parallel or square. In my mind, it would be easier to fix the wooden forms then rather than to reshape concrete after it was poured. I expressed these concerns multiple times to mike. Eventually, my observations were dismissed in a condescending manner from mike. I tried to communicate these concerns to Bernie, but he was in the hospital and was out of the picture. Then, my Father became Ill in February and passed away at the end of March. My wife and I were not available to constantly supervise the project as we were providing care for my Father. We relied on the Bearnie, mike and Guillermo team to see this project through. During the project, Guillermo had to wait for Adams pool to finish certain parts of the pool to be finished. Also, Adams Pool had to wait for Guillermo to finish his parts for them to proceed. At some point, our project was abandoned by Guillermo. Adams Pool then became busy with other projects and the priority to complete our pool/spa went to the bottom of their list. We tried to get it restarted in April, but these other projects took their higher priority. A worker would show up a day here and a day there in May, but there was nothing major being done. At some point, I was informed that when the pool tile was installed, the person Adams sub-contracted out with, did a poor job. The Pool tile had to be removed and replaced. Another delay due to poor workmanship. When I finally was able to personally inspect the current work in May, I noticed that the Spa and the Spa steps were grossly out of square and were not parallel to the pool and house. I told Bearnie that I had told mike that the forms were off back in February, the initial response was that, "is wasn’t off that much and nobody would notice". As a side note, everybody that came to our house saw the job and noticed!!! I called out Bernie, mike and Guillermo to look at it and they couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Said it couldn't be fixed. I finally had to get the General Manager Sonny Mayes involved. I went to his office at Adams pool in the middle of June. He agreed to come to the house and see the project. He immediately saw the problem and agreed to fix it. He figured out a way to square up the steps and make everything parallel and look good. Also, he said that Guillermo would be involved in the repair. I objected to Adams Pool using Guillermo, but Sonny assured me that he would finish the job and that they use him all the time. Bernie also told me that Guillermo would finish the job and that they used Guillermo all the time. Sonny also let me know that you had to stay on top of Guillermo to get him to show up and do his job. Sonny (Adams Pool) chiseled out and reshaped the spa steps in June and Guillermo finally finish the spa siding and steps with the coping stone the first week of August. Be advised. I looked up Guillermo. He writes his contracts under “P F J INC”, but wants you to write the check to “Rock Pro LLC”. Does anyone know what type of business practice this is? Search P F J INC Rock Pro LLC company names at nv contractors board com Adams Pool and their highly recommended contractor Guillermo, required constant supervision and prodding to complete tasks. Had the project supervisor mike listened to me in February about the crooked wood forms, and stayed on top of the progress of their other various sub-contractors, this pool/spa would have been ready by our planned July 4th party. Instead, we will have to wait until next year. There are more details to this very poor Pool company and we would be very happy to speak with you about them.

By far, the best construction/remodeling experience we've had to date. Started on time and finished ahead of schedule. Our estimator, Bernie D., patiently addressed every question and expectation up front. The construction team, Memo (sp?) and Elmer, were experienced, professional, personable and meticulous. The construction coordinator, Michael, was always readily available by phone to address any follow-up concerns. Extremely pleased with the entire process and results. Thank you!

TJ was great, very patient and helped us create the pool we wanted, complete with bar stools and a bar. We asked for changes and he was very responsive and always found a way to make it work. Scheduling is another story. The work dragged on for weeks. I had to call to get appointments scheduled and then sometimes the workers did not show. The company did not do a good job of keeping us informed on next steps unless I called. The finished product looks great however, even with changes, it should not have taken 3 months from contract to completion.

The initial estimates and recommendations were done very well. (We needed some additional work done (solar, roofing and tile cleaning) and they gave us good recommendations for the other work.) Once we signed the contract, they got the chipping out of the old plaster done fairly quickly. But, then it took a long time to get the rest done. We were not given dates for each phase unless we called and asked them about when they were coming. They had to fill in the area of the pool with plaster scraps to decrease the depth, put in re-bar, and fill in with concrete. It took weeks to get this all scheduled. Some of it was due to weather delays (wind), but we had to make the effort to call them to get it scheduled.
The plastering was done nicely, but I am a little disappointed in the final product. It is very smooth, but there are spots where you see plain plaster covering up the quartz plaster. Basically it looks like someone used a tool that had the wrong plaster on it when they were smoothing out some of the surface. You can see that clearly when you are under water looking at the surface.
When it was done, we were expecting someone to explain more about what we needed to do after the water fill. There were instructions on the contract, but no one went over that with us.
Over all, the job is pretty well done. I just would have liked them to be more responsive and get it done quicker. I would also like to know why the surface has the plain plaster spots on it.

Things started out ok as they were almost two weeks behind from the start date but that was expected as it was windy during that time. I had the pool redone in blue quartz and as soon as they finished I noticed white water streaks in the plaster and called the office to let them know and to come back and fix the problem before the plaster dried. They said they wouldn't be coming back today and if there was a problem they would have to go to plan B. 5 weeks later i'm still waiting for them to fix plan B. The pool light they installed only covers half of my pool which is also very disappointing. After talking with a manager he said they installed a spa light in the pool but its just as brite as a pool light. I'm not sure if this is why it only covers half of the pool but if I would have been told this before I purchased it I would have never bought a light that is pretty much useless.

It's been awhile so it's hard to remember all the detail but they did a great job. They showed up on time as promised, removed the plaster from our 15 yr old pool and resurfaced our pool with Pebble Tec. Someone from Adams came by every afternoon to make sure the workers performed their daily job as planned. The only negative I have is once the pool was completed no one from Adams came by or called to ask how we felt about the job or to answer any questions we might of had.

I got two quotes from the two highest rated pool companies here on Angies List and both were very comparable. Decided to go with Adam's Pool Solutions because overall they were about 500 dollars less overall for the whole project of the pool and the deck. TJ came out to meet me and was on time and very professional, and a very likeable guy. The pool needed to be replastered as it was on the older side and the bottom had begun to bubble and peel up. The deck was looking a bit rough, you could see down to the concrete in places and there were several noticeable cracks. I'm very happy with the final result, as it is pretty much exactly what I was hoping it would be. They even replaced a lot of my broken pop-up jets and replaced my drain covers with the latest and greatest. They included some tiles on the steps on the pools so now you can have a better idea of where there are steps in the pool. (Much safer that way.) The deck looks new, and TJ helped my wife pick a great color for the deck and the pool tile.
The main warning to prospective buyers is that you must understand that it is a construction project and you must be patient with the scheduling aspect of things, which my wife found very frustrating. They are a very busy company, and we had to wait over a month from when we signed the contract to when they could start. (We knew this). Then when they start the use a team approach, so when one team completes their job then the next team can come in. If there is weather then a team can get delayed and it just may take a lot longer to complete the project than you would like. From when they started to the time the last crew came it was over a month. Nothing unexpected really but some people may be expecting something different.
Overall great job though, nice people and a good end result.

We installed pebble tech Tahoe blue plaster. Our pool is no more than 15000 gallons. We had a really nice guy named Robert that came by and gave us our quote. We've had our new plaster for about almost a year and we just love our new pool. Before redoIng our pool we had the regular premium white plaster that was already peeling off when we first moved in. We hired them because they were competitive, we were able to see the material they use in their showroom, and also offer a 10yr warranty on material worksmanship, They also offer the original pebble tech plaster which no other contractor uses. Some companies make their own. We received quotes from many other pool companies. Tops 5-6 quotes. Robert wasn't very responsive after he left so we had to contact the office. Everybody in the office was professional, responsive, and were able to help me which I'm very thankful for. We weren't given a specific date the job will start but was given a job number and estimated week the job will start. windy weather can also back up work if they have to spray plaster. Their Crew was professional, clean, and punctual. At the end the work was fenominal. Our pool is very appealing and inviting. Satisfied with the work and would highly recommend to friends and family.

They sent a very personable estimator on February 4. I gave them a deposit and was put on the waiting list. They started the job on March 10. They emptied the pool water. They jack hammered out the tile and plaster in one day. It was very loud. Then they came back and tiled. This took about a whole work day. The tile job was pretty good, but I was not satisfied with some of the grout. The field supervisor came back with the tile guys. They completed the tile work to my satisfaction. A guy was sent out to pressure wash the area to be plastered. The plaster guys came out and did the job in about 5 hours. They cleaned up the work area and started the water to fill the pool on March 20. The time table of the job was March 10 - 20. The job was delayed a couple of days because my pool had a plumbing issue. They found someone to fix the plumbing issue that was separate from the tile and plaster job. I am very satisfied with Adams Pool Solutions and I would gladly recommend them.
