The Lawn Salon

We have just moved into the Reno area and had several concerns about the yard in this new home, particularly possible leaks in sprinkler lines underground, broken sprinkler heads, etc. Mike was nearly 15 minutes early for our scheduled appointment --really?  does that ever happen anymore???  Then he went around efficiently and effectively addressing every issue we questioned to our satisfaction and made sure we understood even the most common questions as new residents to the area. 
He never rushed us and much to our amazement, he didn't simply stand back and "discuss" the issue with us to then let us know at the end he would be charging us a fortune to fix it, he actually started finding lines and feeling for pressure, uncovering our water meter and getting down and dirty in the muddy bushes, and diagnosing and repairing minor things right on the spot!'
His reasoning behind this hand-on straight forward approach???  "Look, this [part] cost me what? $1.50?  I'm not gonna pretend that it takes a big job to get something fixed so I can charge a customer a large amount of money, when it's quite simple and it doesn't cost me much to just get it done!  I can't live that way and I just wouldn't be dishonest..."
Let me add that there were several things he could've told us would cost to do, add, fix, treat, etc and that his price would be "x", but instead he told us how we could cheaply fix it ourselves or leave it alone because it would work itself out (unbeknownst to us) and gave us so much FREE education that we have never received from a provider in his profession before!
In the end, the service call was $45!
