The resort destination of Laughlin is located about 90 miles south of Las Vegas on the Nevada/Arizona border. Laughlin boasts a number of gaming resorts and golf courses. The city is situated on the banks of the Colorado River at the three-corner region joining Nevada, California and Arizona and is home to approximately 8,000 people, but its market area includes a population of 70,000. Laughlin resides in Clark County and is about 30 minutes from Searchlight, Nevada home of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid. Aside from the resort industry, Laughlin is also known for the Mojave Generations Station that provides 1.5 million watts of electricty to over a million customers in Nevada, California and Arizona. The Laughlin airport is shared with Bullhead city on the Arizona side of the border.
