Before he even came on property he gave me a rough estimate based on different sizes, explained things that are included that other plumbers might charge for (like earthquake straps and drip pans), and explained a few things that would increase the price but are not common. I felt it was very transparent in terms of what costs to expect, while understanding it was not yet an official estimate. I mentioned wanting to get it changed today and he was concerned about the place he gets water heaters closing since it's Sunday (he was getting one with a longer warranty than DIY stores). This man went ahead and picked up the water heater and showed up to give an estimate ready to go. The price didn't change from what he initially said. He replaced it for $1k less than the other quotes. I will absolutely recommend and plan to use this company again should a plumbing need arise in the future.
