Tiburon Construction

Firstly, the quality of the work seems fine. I was assured this company could handle the insurance issues confronting me and this turned out badly (0 insurance payments). To be fair, I suspect there was management turmoil and an effort to expand that affected my experience. The cost greatly exceeded the first verbal estimates greatly. Work was done prior to insurance adjusters having the opportunity to see the proposed repairs. The two biggest gripes I have is a claim that they lost 160 hours of labor they paid for, and the use of unauthorized "emergency" plumbing repairs. Anything like this needs authorization prior to work being done -I think they would agree-. This additional billing was presented at escrow close (the property was sold) and wound up being more than the equity in the home (Las Vegas). It was very hard for me to follow their billing methodology. In addition, the tub surround in the master bath needed repair. When the Project Manager personally inspected the patchwork he said he did not like how it turned out. He directed the repair of the rest of the surround and said, "it would be on him". I think I ended up paying for that because it was an undocumented conversation. Cost was over 34,000

They walked into a challenge! The more they opened things up, the worse it was. They took lemons and made lemonade! I have NEVER seen a construction Company do better. They even got MORE $$$ out of my Insurance Company! Everyone who sees my new place raves about it! Plus, they stuck to their budget! Unbelievable! I will never do business with another Company. They are my go to Company for life. Trustworthy in a world where that is scarce these days.

We have used Tiburon for a previous project when we had the fireplace fronts in our living room and family room redone and replaced the flooring in both rooms. Tiburon was great for both projects. The final work was excellent and any issues we had with quality of work were immediately corrected. The workers are always punctual and polite, clean up after themselves, and put out top notch results. The master bedroom turned out exactly the way I wanted it to. This company is a little bit pricey, but competitive, and their results are well worth the money. We will be using them again for future projects we have planned.

My door was replaced, the locks were changes and the wall surrounding the door was repaired and painted. Looking at it now, you could not tell that it was every damaged. The men that did the work were polite and respectful. I am very happy with Tiburon Construction and would not hesitate to use them again.

It went better than I expected. Not only they temporarily repaired the garage until the crew could schedule us a week later for the final repair, but they also replaced the nails on both sides of the garage with long wood screws for a more secured holding. Not to mention they also caulked the outside of the garage door and repainted the damaged area with matching exterior paint color. I highly recommend this company. I would highly consider them for future home remodeling contracts.

Fantastic. I was on a very short time span because of additional remodeling that need Tiburon's work done first. They came in right on time and did an outstanding job. Throughout the entire process of getting the architect there to the inspections Tiburon was famtastic. Ryan and Howie were great to work with and would re-hire them for any future need. Great

The crew from Tiburon Construction are TOP NOTCH. Every day they were on time, had a plan for that day and continued all the
way through the project. They even went out of their way to repair a GFI that had nothing to do with the project. At time of completion, they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with ALL details prior to leaving. I would use these guys again in a heart beat. I can't say enough good things about this company.  Jason and Dave are great to work with.  Both of them are experienced, have great relationships with good vendors, and are just down-to-earth friendly to talk to. This was the first time we had ever worked with a general contractor on a project.  We were very inexperienced and needed a lot of help and guidance which they gladly gave.  I really appreciated the time they spent helping me to make design choices. They listened to our concerns and worked with us at every step.  They billed us fairly.   We enjoyed working with them and they really helped to make a stressful project less stressful. 

The superintendent, Gary, was amazing.  He really made sure that things were done correctly and that the project moved forward.  We had him in our house managing the Tiburon crew and the subcontractors for about six (6) months.  During that time I felt like my house was safe, secure, and in good hands.  Gary made sure that the work was done as if it was his own home. He is equally down -to-earth and kind.  He was especially thoughtful with our kids and our dog.  I couldn't ask for a better project superintendent.

As for the work, it is incredible.  The house looks great.  I can't believe what they were able to accomplish in our home.  We will use them any time we decide to continue improving our home and  we would recommend them to anyone who needed any project, large or small, in Las Vegas.

Tiburon did a wonderful job! We had seen the excellent work they did in our daughter & son - in - law's kitchen. Sara and Rob were on the HGTV Kitchen Crashers show and even though Tiburon was rushed for time because of the deadlines, the work was meticulous.

However, we did our due diligence and checked out two other companies as well on Angie's List. Tiburon and the two other companies gave us bids and presentations. Tiburon's proposal and bid was highly detailed and specific. We went with Tiburon.

During the construction, it was found that our island in the kitchen was full of mold under the sheetrock. Tiburon suggested mold abatement people, they came and completed their work, Tiburon rebuilt the island and we moved forward.

The floors are beautiful! And Tiburon even taught us how to take care of them.

They were good. We had some issues but they got resolved.

Everytime I have used them they have done a perfect job and are so good to work with. They're very concientious and keep their committments and have a very good follow up system.

The demolition work was done neatly and efficently.  The rebuild was well done, found and fixed some deficencies of the original construction.  Clean-up was thorough.  Very happy with the work and price, would use them again.

We are from Ohio and decided to buy a retirement home in Nevada which was a two-year process for us in finding the right property. We ultimately purchased a two-story townhouse in a gated community that had been recently fixed up for sale. It had new carpeting throughout, was completely repainted inside, and appeared to be in move-in condition with the exception of needing the exterior repainted which we had done immediately. After purchase, we decided to update the kitchen countertops and flooring as well as completely renovating the master bathroom and ½ bath downstairs. 

 

We searched the internet and Angie?s List for contractors discovering Tiburon Construction was rated #1. We met with them and two other contractors for estimates and design ideas.  Tiburon outshined the others with their professionalism and attention to detail.  Living 2,000 miles away and not being able be there for most of the construction process, it was important for us to select a contractor we felt we could trust.  By coincidence, a relative in Las Vegas had just completed a master bath remodel and had used Tiburon whom she highly recommended.  Thus, we hired Tiburon and met with them for design and material selections for the remodel (flooring, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, shower tiling, cabinets and hardware for both bathrooms). 

 

Soon after beginning the project, Tiburon discovered a mold problem in one of the bathrooms ceasing work in that bathroom and starting work in the other.  They exposed the same mold problem there, thus shutting down the construction process.  It was then we learned the work done to the home by the seller was merely ?cosmetic? and apparently done to deceive us as the buyers.  The property had a water leak prior to sale and although the home appeared beautiful inside, the damage from the water leak was just covered up rather than re-mediated as it should have been. 

 

Tiburon brought in a mold remediation company to totally inspect the home. After inspection, the worse scenario was revealed?all walls downstairs all the way into the garage had to be ripped out, cleaned and treated, and then reconstructed before the remodeling could begin.  Tiburon completely handled this process through every step including every city inspection required.  We can't thank Tiburon and all the workers involved in the project enough. And we'd like to thank Angie's List for having a company like this listed. If Tiburon Construction has a negative, it's that they are so desired as a contractor that you have to wait before they can schedule you, but if you have the time like we did, you will find no one does a more superior job than Tiburon Construction.

It went great. They were very on the ball and communicated well. Excellent job on all work done.

The project took 4 times longer than it should have and was only completed when I threatened to contact the contractors board.  I had a final walk at least 4 times and the work was not complete until the day I was leaving to go out of town.  I told them they had until the following week to finish or I would hire another contractor.  Deck coating looks awful even in the finished state.  Not professional.  I will say that the water proofing and stucco to the patio cover ceiling were done properly and have not leaked after all of the rains we've had.  It was a 5 day job that took 5-6 weeks to finish. 

Dealing with David Papp, Director of Operations, gives new meaning to the word "excellence."

They started out good but in the end I believe they need someone there to supervise and make sure the work is completed.  They were priced higher than anyone else that we got estimates from and I feel like they will take advantage of you if they have the opportunity.

Jason and his team showed up as promised and commenced work immediately.  They taped off the room and the carpet to ensure that as little of the construction mess as possible would enter the rest of the house.  The work commenced as promised until we hit a snag with delivery of the replacement window.  Through no fault of Tiburon, the window was delayed in delivery for 4 weeks, thereby delaying completion of the project.  Jason's team kept in contact with me regarding the status and were extremely apologetic for the delay.  Once the window came in, Jason's team got right to work completing the project.  The window was installed beautifully and the stucco repair top notch.  During the first walk-through inspection, there were a number of deficiencies in the work; however Jason accepted responsibility for the problems and did not argue with me about any of them (which I really appreciated).  His team took care of the problems right away and our second walk-through was fine.  Jason and his team are hard workers and really want their customers to be 100% satisfied with their work.

We have had contract work done around the house before, but
none have done as exceptional a job as Tiburon Construction. They were
organized in their planning and professional in execution. We knew when they
would be there and what specifically they would be working on and they were
always amenable to our ad hoc suggestions or late requests. In our case a
simple garage upgrade transformed into some interior remodeling as we began
thinking out-loud about what we wanted, which they began right away. The
workers themselves were genuinely nice people who were easy to talk to and
respectful. We have had workers from other companies leave a mess of the work
site and throw their trash wherever they pleased, so it was nice to work with
people who were mindful of being in someone?s home. The quality of the work surpassed
our own expectations to be quite honest and we are very happy with what they
have done. We highly recommend Tiburon Construction as not only a good company,
but also good people.

With Tiburon acting as our contractor with the insurance company adjustor, things went very smooth and they took care of everything.  With working with our insurance company adjustor and the budget for replacement costs plus what we paid out of our own pockets to upgrade, our house actually looks BETTER than before the flood!   We had a master carpenter (Casey) from Tiburon build our TV wall unit, some kitchen cabinets, kitchen cabinet side panels, toe kicks, and he was able to match our existing older cabinets perfectly!  We upgraded our solid surface countertops (demolished due to the cabinet under our sink being water damaged) to granite, had our builder grade baseboards upgraded to 6 1/2" baseboards, we had a built-in sideboard built, new porcelain tile, distressed laminate, new carpet and pad.  We had to replace our sink and faucet and with some of our own savings upgraded to luxury-high end type finishes.  Tiburon's employees (especially Ishmael) were all top notch, presented themselves well in my home, were clean and neat, on time and highly respectful.  Tiburon's vendors (carpet, plumber, master carpenter, granite) were highly skilled, we couldn't have been more pleased.
All in all, from a horrible event in our lives, it turned out really well.  We couldn't have chosen a better construction company.  We were pleased with everyone who was and is connected with Tiburon Construction.  Our home DOES look better now, with the skilled craftsmanship of Tiburon's employees.   It took about 3 months to get EVERYTHING done in our home, mostly because of our upgrading at our own expense.  But it was so worth it.  Once we saw that Tiburon and their roster of craftsman and employees were top notch, we decided it was now or never to upgrade from builder quality to high end luxury quality in our 12 year old home.
If we ever need any more construction/home improvement work done in our home, there will be no need to look any further than Jason Gresham and Tiburon Construction.

Billy came to the house on my schedule which was a HUGE HELP and he listened and looked and assessed every item on my list.  He called right back and always answered my emails quickly and worked with me until we were both on the same page.  NONE OF THE GUYS TALKED TO ME AS IF JUST BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN I WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND!!! This was a huge plus for me.   Jason and the Floor Man were very nice and I felt safe having them in my home.  They did a great job and everyday they were willing to work in my schedule.  Great guys and I would hire them again.
