"Hi, I just now saw your review. I don't really check these very often. I am 100% sure that we take great care of all our clients. Well, when I saw this one, it was a big surprise. I see that it was posted about a year after your project was completed. So I can see it had nothing to do with the installation. I also realize that it has been over 6 months since you posted this review, but I feel that I need to reply to this review for the sake of our current and future clients. First, I do apologize for your frustrating experience. I do remember your project. Your pavers were done right around the time there was a paver shortage in town. You can ask any paver contractor out here and they will know exactly what I am talking about. Unfortunately, it is normal for the pavers to get some scratches during the installation process and definitely wouldn't want us to skip this step. Your pavers did get scratched beyond a level that is considered acceptable to us. Unfortunately, we don't make the sand. We do purchase the best quality sand out here in Vegas. We don't make money if we have to re-do a project. We do want to do it right the first time. We did have your project re-installed within a month after the original installation. The only reason why it took us so long it was because we had to wait for your material to become available. So we did re-do your project 1 year before you put this review. I just want you to understand that we took care of you right away because we valued your business and not because you posted a bad review. So we did take care of your concerns at the time of the original installation. Now, as you noted on the review, about a year later, you brought to our attention some issues with the pavers. According to you, a few pavers were cracking and chipping. As a paver installer (contractor), we can only warranty our labor. Any paver problems have to go directly to the manufacturer, especially if the issues are being brought up almost a year later. We do not make the pavers. We were going to do you a favor and replace those for you. But apparently, taking a few weeks to do you a favor was too long so you decided to file a claim with the Contractors Board. Well, I am sure you received a letter from the Contractors Board by now. I will try to see if I can post a copy of mine. Basically, it states that the claim was dismissed since there was no problems with the installation. I just don't believe your review of our company is fair since you made it seem like we never got back to you when we did go out there and replaced your whole project within a month of the original installation. I may have to contact Angie's List about this issue of clients posting unfair reviews."

Work done by The Paver Guys ? Guillermo, Alex, and Jose ? was FABULOUS -- thorough and complete with gorgeous results. Courteous and professional, they incorporated current paver pattern into the new corners and curves so that the new pavers seamlessly integrated with the existing patio. This was the part I was worried about the most and they made it look effortless. They did the work in a few hours what would have taken me at least a couple of weeks of evenings and weekends. I generously tipped them for a job well done.
The sales, estimation, and scheduling process is another story. Although Joe quoted $1500 to do the entire job with us providing the pavers, the first thing Michaela said when she met with us was, ?We don?t do any job for less than $2500.? We should have known that this inauspicious introduction to her was just the beginning. But, trusting as we were, we gently reminded her of Joe?s voicemail message, even offering to play it for her if she?d like. She said she needed to check back with the office. She also indicated that they?d lay down the Type II and sand over that, both provided by The Paper Guy as base material. She finished her visit by making her measurements.
After trying to get the job scheduled over 4 weeks, the day finally arrived. I was surprised to hear that they?ll be dropping the sand off the day before. I asked about Type II. Pam first stated that only sand was needed but got Michaela on the phone. Michaela said Type II will come from the pile that we had in the backyard. I explained to her that the pile is gone and we never talked about using that as type II since it had huge rocks and needed to be sifted. Next thing I know, she sends me an email indicating that they?ll supply Type II at a cost of $250 additional. I was flabbergasted with the price increase since Type II is probably the cheapest material on earth. Having waited 4 weeks and with time running out, I replied, ?OK?.
During the middle of the work, the crew ran out of Decora pavers due to about 35% waste from cutting on both sides of the paver pathway to make way for Holland pavers. The crew said I needed to get 240 additional Decora pavers. I suggested to them that they reuse the remains from one side for the other side in order to save on the pavers. From my square footage calculations, that should have worked for remainder of the area left. But we compromised and I agreed to get 120 additional Decora pavers, which cost $108 more. Now we?re up to $1858, getting closer to the $2500 minimum Michaela originally wanted.
As the work was nearing completion, Michaela called to let me know that they?d need to charge for 60 additional square feet of work. I explained to her that the square footage did not change, just that the material estimate was off due to the 35% wastage. She then wanted to charge for providing the material. I explained to her that I went and got the material myself. Lastly, she wanted to charge for the transportation of the material. I, very calmly, told her that I actually drove my own vehicle to deliver the pavers. She responded with, ?Oh.?
Michaela came out the next day with her measuring wheel and redid her measurements. She was surprised that the numbers came out exactly the same as when she first made her measurements. I was just happy to pay $1750 before price went up again.
"Thank you for your business and for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. We strive to provide our clients with excellent service and we take your comments to heart. We are extremely sorry that we didn't meet your expectations. I wish I could go back in time and be able to provide you a different experience. I know it was only a 1-day job so everything just happened so quickly, but I wish you had brought up your concerns right away to the management department. It truly breaks my heart to know that this could have been avoid and it was all a result of lack of experience from her part. We already met with her about this incident to make sure this will never happen again. Please accept our sincere apologies. Respectfully, Anna Mata"

Very professional. Did everything as promised and more. Highly recommend!
Enter the Paver Guy. Brian initially showed up on time, listened to what I wanted to do and left me with a brochure to allow me to choose which style of paver I prefer (the ONLY company that did this). He also gave me a per-squarefoot price on paper before leaving, noting that work can be completed over the course of 2 days and could start a day or two after. I got the quote Friday, work was completed the following Friday, just before the x-mas holiday.
I simply could not be happier with the work. The pavers look great, match the house, and transforms the whole backyard into a great usable space. His employees were courteous, clean, quiet, and extremely professional.
Brian / The Paver Guy specializes in pavers, and i'm glad I made the choice to have him do the work. Much better piece of mind than using a landscape who "can also do pavers".
As the quotes from the other bigger "do-it-all landscape" type companies come in (2 weeks after my work from Brian is completed!), i'm blown away by the great deal The Paver Guy is, as his price has come in below every other quote received.
Highly recommend, can't say enough about the experience!
