I was trying to be proactive and replace a well maintained and working 21 year old HVAC system before the phase out of R22 refrigerant, or worse, a breakdown inconveniently timed in the middle of a scorching weekend August night. In short, I wanted options and the ability to research products and companies at my leisure, so I initiated the quote process. Joe Moss, the sales rep called me about a week after the price quote he gave me to inform me that there would be an additional 10% discount if I decided to use them and sign by 2/28/19. So I did and signed a contract for a Lennox ML14XC1 and First Company hydronic system. And soon after the portal to HVAC **** opened. It was small annoyances at first 1: Timeframe for contract signing not honored and had to be rescheduled. 2: Revised estimate and contract incorrectly substituted Lennox Wi-Fi thermostat with lesser standard Honeywell Model, situation remedied on yet another revised contract. 3: The Cooling Company called on 2/25/19 to reschedule install date due to not receiving parts, but they had the install date wrong, blamed error on IT problems. 4: No return call or follow up from Joe Moss on vent cleaning as per my request. I should have followed the three strikes you’re out rule..... The install date was 2/27/19 and the process lagged on for close to seven hours; parts like breakers and caps were missing and had to be sent for. And when they were finishing up, I asked if there was a guide for the WI-FI thermostat and that’s when I was told they did not install the hydronic system, but a heat pump. Yep, they just went ahead and installed something I never was informed about or agreed to and seeing I was annoyed, they went outside and called the owner and then informed me that he would be calling me to discuss the situation and then they quickly scurried away. I called and was eventually patched in to speak with the owner, Wellington who said he was the one that ordered the unit and it was his mistake. Said the First Company unit has an eight week wait and he would send guys back to put in my old unit until right one came in. I said just leave what you have in until the new unit arrives, he then says “oh no, then he can’t sell it” WHAT!! was all my now exploding brain could manage to think. Then he claimed the unit he installed is a more expensive and better unit and he would take an additional $500 dollars off. Then he told me he would see what he can do and give him until tomorrow to find a solution. Soon after he called again claiming he just found out that First Company no longer makes hydronic units and he would try to see if their warehouse in Texas had one. My now fully exploded brain managed to squeak out that I needed to research all these alleged claims before I gave him an answer. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, my heat kicked on with all sorts of clinking noises, complete with the sound of a freight train running through my home and then I looked up and saw the panel no longer closed completely. Then I went outside to look at the AC unit and instead of the Lennox I had purchased, there was a Goodman unit. I was utterly floored by the audacity, the deception, the fraud and called to state that I refuse to have any more phone conversations with this company and any and all further communication must be in writing. And here’s the email they sent: “Good Afternoon Lee, Lennox doesn’t have a compatible ceiling unit for your home, only goodman does. If we were to install a straight cool system for your home, we could use a Lennox, however, your home isn’t compatible for a straight cool. To replace the water system in your home we need to use a heat pump system and Goodman is the only carrier of a system that is compatible for your house. The Goodman heat pump we installed is actually more expensive then the Lennox unit initially quoted to you. Because of the inconvenience this has cause to you, we don’t feel it would be fair to charge you the additional cost of the Goodman unit, and we also want to offer you an additional $500 off the total. We sincerely apologize for an inconvenience you felt over the install and we’re working hard to make it right.” Never have I had an home contractor experience as horrific as this! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

Our A/C unit was due for the annual service. Had read reviews on this company, so decided to schedule a service. The technician was very professional and knowledgeable and explained the process. Our unit needed a small part which was leaking. He explained the purpose of the part and replaced it with no problems at all. This is the best air conditioning service company I have ever dealt with. I will definitely use them again.

Excellent. Technician was well qualified. Told me what needs to be done on items that need attention. Checked Air Duct cleaning and showed me picture of how dirty it was.

Very nice, they are very polite and always make sure they wear booties to keep your floors clean.

Great. They make apppointments in a narrow window and keed them. If an emergnecy occurs to delay them, they keep the customer posted. We do not have to wait for Godot to show up all day long like with many other contractors.

The Cooling Company was prompt to return my call and schedule an appointment with me to clean my laundry duct because my laundry machine took a long time to dry my cloths. During my appointment with Technician Danielo, he investigated the situation and learned that the laundry ducts door wasn’t opening due to the concrete surrounding the duct door outside the house. He helped resolved the situation by removing the concrete. I am extremely happy with their service and would utilize them again in the future.

The office was very professional and quick to schedule me with a technician as soon as one was available. The technician came promptly and was obviously very knowledgeable about AC units and their problems. I appreciated the honest evaluation of my system and his courteous professional demeanor.

Tech seemed nice, office staff was fantastic. After a few minutes outside, Technician said nothing would work unless multiple parts were replaced. Quoted the prices for the parts, I figured labor would be at a premium but, in short, this company robs you. Condenser Motor on Amazon - $75.39 Condenser Motor from the Cooling Co - $604.10. Exact same part. Installation looks quite easy on YouTube (and it clearly was since it only took the tech 30 min) I get it, you have to pay a premium for technician services and people need to make a living. This group takes things to an extreme. When I was asked for multiple signatures throughout the process I knew I had made a mistake. Shame on me for relying on positive reviews from Angie's List. Paid $744.10 and that was WITH a 10% discount for Angie's List. Don't make the same mistake I made and hire someone else!

When I called the Cooling Company, Ashely answered immediately. I gave her a basic snap shot of what we knew and she immediately exhibited a sense of empathy. It was about 3pm on a Friday, so my expectation of receiving service was not high; however, Ashley took action. She placed me on hold while she contacted Jorge who was out on a job. She said Jorge will be contacting me shortly, and in less than 2 mins my phone rang. Jorge listened to my issue and asked if I could text him photos of my system, the assembly and the information label. After he received it, Ashley called me to set up an appointment the very next day--on a Sat! This was fantastic! Jorge then called me back to explain what he will be doing the following morning so I know what to expect. He also provided an estimate which to me was VERY REASONABLE given the last minute notice. I received an email confirmation of the appointment. I received a phone call from one of the receptionists the next morning confirming my appointment. Jorge arrived a few mins early--which I appreciated. He seemed full of energy at 0700AM on a Sat!! He was alert, attentive, knowledgeable and 100% reassuring that he will have our water nice and hot!! He was able to locate the parts required, picked them up and returned in less than 1hr to fix our water heater. As he performed his magic, he shared tips to us as first time homeowners. He had an infectious personality and you can tell he is passionate at what he does--he was beyond professional in every aspect and superceded our expectation. He even was able to put my husband in a good mood, mind you he had knee surgery earlier that week along with the stress of no hot water. Because Jorge worked diligently and was so efficient, the cost was reduced due to labor time being shorter than estimated. Everything was electronic and immediate--payment was quick and receipt went straight to my email. Jorge also cleaned all around the water heater...even though it was dusty prior to his visit--pride in work! I received a courtesy phone call later that day. Followed by an email. My husband and I look forward to hiring Jorge to assist us with a water heater system flush as well as the install of our new filter system in the near future. The Cooling Company went above and beyond!

The staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The receptionist answered the phone right away to schedule an estimate and then called the day before the appointment to confirm. They did the same for the actual service date. We worked with Landon on determining which HVAC system was best for us. His knowledge on the different systems is extensive and impressive. He even knew about our old AC system (Freus), which isn't made anymore. Landon worked with us on the price and special financing through Wells Fargo. Ashley in the main office was also very helpful in getting all the financing in order. Everyone at the Cooling Company is personable and easy to work with. The cost of our new HVAC was reasonable and less than other comparable systems. I would definitely work with them again.

They have been utterly fantastic in every phase of the process. Bogdan (the service/sales rep; name rhymes with rogue-don) was professional, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Ask for him!!! The installers were great as well. They left no mess and were courteous at all times. I also have nothing but good things to say about the office personnel. All in all, I would recommend The Cooling Company to anybody.

This company is so great! From the very moment I called the company, the receptionists on the other end are beyond polite and professional - i knew right away I was dealing with the "real deal". I had just bought a house last year and wanted to find a company to come clean my AC (it was middle of summer). When I called they gave me their price and also had a great annual service option where they come out every 3 months and do a cleaning and inspection on the heating and AC (which I took advantage of). Their technicians are very informative and knowledgeable - never try to pinch you for your money. When it started getting cold and the technician inspected our heater they found we had a hole in our pipe where the carbon monoxide exits the house which means it was circling and coming straight into our home! Luckily they caught that and it the price it cost to fix was reasonable. Another great thing I like about the Cooling Company is that they keep record of which technician works on your home so you always have the same technician all year which I like - it makes the visit more personable and comfortable knowing its someone who already is familiar with your AC/Heater and doesn't feel like a stranger is coming into your home and more like a friend.
