The grades and rating set up is not the greatest. Although they did correct to the best of their ability my utility room, it was still pieced together. They seemed like nice people, but I had problems both times I used them. I am a patient person and like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. So although very nice, they still goofed up on both occasions.
Description of Work: I used this company initially to install quartz countertops in my utility room and also to a new "add on" cabinet we had just installed in our kitchen. We already had quartz on all the other cabinets which had been installed by someone else. First of all, they took longer because they said they had trouble locating an existing slab. We only needed about 30" countertop in utility and another 10 feet or so in the kitchen areas. It was a standard color by a major manufacturer. The utility room cabinets have an open sided end that can be seen by anyone in the room, yet they did not install the quartz down passed the top since they said that is how they do all utility room cabinets. It was exposed raw wood showing. I don't think so. They did after some time finally get a small piece to cover it up, so they did respond, but it was done wrong in the first place. The countertops installed in the kitchen are fine and match the others, however, the piece of quartz used in my utility room appears to be a "second" with discoloration of slight blue tints in all white countertops in several areas. I did not get a discount for any of the counters. It was one of those things I did not notice for several weeks since I have a cleaning lady. It wasn't until I actually cleaned it myself that I noticed the discoloration. I was tired of dealing with it so I did not contact them about this. I did contact them again, when I remodeled my large natural fireplace. I was having a custom mantel made and wanted to put granite over the existing brick. They had told me that I would get a heavily discounted price through them on the granite slab. They had told me this when they did the countertops. I did call them again and got a very nice piece of granite. It was installed in a timely manner. When the gentlemen came to install the custom mantel, he told me we had a major problem. They had both been there together when I got an estimate from both of them to make sure the granite was cut to the mantel's specifications. Well, guess what? The granite was cut about 8" too short at the top of the opening. They both of course blamed each other. But my notes and measurements I had kept, sided with the mantel company. The granite was indeed the mistake. Well, no discount was offered and they (the mantel installer) had to do a quick fix of my mantel by adding another piece of wood right in front in order to proceed since the granite was cut too short. I guess I could have screamed and hollered and demanded new granite, but after remodeling my house for over 4 months, I had just had it and this was the last piece of the puzzle. I just let it go. I was sick and tired of workman, salesmen, etc. and wanted everyone out of my house at that point.
