NIGHTMARE - 3 young men showed up in a rented truck. the truck leaked oil on the driveway, they did not have any tools to dismantle bed frames, no cellophane / plastic type material to wrap furniture nor did they have an appliance dolly, they came with one flat moving cart with wheels and a small dolly only able to carry 3 small boxes. I questioned there experience when they arrived as I did not have a good feeling, they said they had experience and that if I wanted them to use an appliance dolly or have any furniture wrapped that was extra charge and they would have to go it and charge me additional for it. Before they began I tried to call Damian the owner and person I had talked with originally and he did not answer his phone after several calls from me and the movers. Things just went down hill from there. They loaded up all the boxes first and only loaded the truck half way to the roof, they did not have the knowledge on how to move furniture and tried to lift it and proceeded to damage many walls and a few pieces of the furniture. The walls were so badly damaged I had to hire a drywall repair company to repair the walls. The one badly scratched and damaged hutch will have to go to a furniture repair man. I had 2 plastic type boxes I was taking in my car and when I asked where they were as they were missing they told me they loaded them in the truck. When they finished the job the original estimate was $495.00 and they wanted to charge me about $100.00 more. I refused to pay the additional $100.00. I went ahead and paid the original estimated amount as again we could not reach Damian and I really did not want to pay them anything until we got the damage issues resolved, but went ahead and paid the original estimate of $495.00 resolved. What really put me over the edge was WE LATER DISCOVERED THEY STOLE A CAMERA AND IPOD FROM ONE OF THE PLASTIC BOXES VALUE AROUND $500.00 All of this has been communicated to Damian, who said I should have purchased an additional insurance policy to cover this...... I have provided him the original receipt for the camera and am waiting for his resolution. I will update this report after resolution.
