Concrete Repair
I've done my fair share of concrete pouring on my own, and have contracted several different companies in the area to do so as well, and Perkins is probably the best I've dealt with.
We had to pour concrete on a weird-shaped area close to an oak tree in our back yard. The area was overgrown with nasty tangled vegetation and hadn't received any attention for a long while. Digging it all up and preparing it for concrete ourselves would have been a nightmare. Perkins gave us a reasonable quote, dug up and carted away all the dirt and other organic matter cluttering the area, prepared the site, and poured the concrete. It needed to be at an unusual angle to drain rainwater away from the garage, and then at another unusual angle to maintain the slope of the land, and Perkins was able to plot out all those angles correctly and make it happen. We also wanted to put in several storm clips and a bike rack at certain points in the poured driveway, and Perkins worked with us to place all of those things in the correct locations. Throughout the process, they were responsive, professional, punctual, and capable. It was a difficult job and they handled it really well. Everyone who sees the newly poured concrete comments on how great it looks and what a nice space it is. Excellent work!
Two things about Perkins that impressed me compared to other (not to be named) concrete companies I've dealt with:1. Perkins applies for the local building permits themselves. Anyone who's dealt with local code enforcement and building departments knows that this is a NIGHTMARE, and having it done for you is a HUGE benefit, far beyond the cost of the permit itself. This is a big plus in Perkins' favor.
2. Other concrete companies I've hired have left unpleasant piles of dirt / chunks of unneeded concrete around the work area after they were done. Usually these would take a weekend morning to break up and haul away, and in some cases damaged plants and landscaping. Perkins took care of ALL of the mess associated with pouring concrete and left the area looking immaculate. They really did an excellent job.
In conclusion, I would consider Perkins for any concrete job I was planning. They really know what they're doing.
