As the owner of Oracle Swimming Pools, John will oversee all aspects of your project, including not only the design and materials, but all phases of construction as well. John is the very best at what he does. We obtained multiple quotes before beginning our pool and John’s quote was clear and concise from the beginning. John also offered a complete quote for what we discussed. (Some other bids showed a base quote and then had other items as add ons that quickly inflated the price.) I thoroughly researched the products that John uses and they are highly rated and among the best. The bells and whistles like WiFi control and multi color LEDs were standard in his quote. John’s design was far and away the most gorgeous of the options we saw. Over the course of our project, John listened to our preferences and offered his expertise and guidance to create the pool that we wanted. From design to tile and grout selection to plaster and splash deck, John delivered the exact look we wanted. (It is actually more gorgeous than we imagined!) All of John’s sub contractors were fantastic, professional and efficient. From the excavators to the pool service at the end of the process, John has a wonderful team. Timelines and expectations were clearly communicated by all parties. John seemlessly managed the inspections and logistics of all facets of the project. He willingly answered all of our questions and responded immediately to any call or text. I highly recommend John to anyone looking to put in a pool and create their very own vacation in their backyard. He has made our dream yard come true and we could not be more grateful to be enjoying it with family and friends!

John is the best! He designs pools beautifully with the eye of a true artist. He listened to and respected our ideas and opinions, all the while giving guidance based on his extensive experience with building pools in the Las Vegas area. We found that his suggestions always seemed to enhance our vision for this project. John always responded quickly to our texts, even on weekends or at night (we did try to keep these after hours texts to a minimum out of respect for him, but he was there without fail). He also kept us informed about scheduling contractors and services, so that we had the peace of mind of knowing that he had everything covered. All the way through our project we kept saying how glad we were that we selected John and Oracle to build our pool. He is a true professional in every sense of the word, and an all around nice guy to boot. Recommend highly!

Just what I wanted. From the beginning to the end, John was there to oversee the work. Never any problems and I didn't have to do a thing. It's a beautiful pool! I've recommended Oracle to a number of people!

Working with John at Oracle Pools was great. He listened to us while we were going through the design process while giving us his honest opinions and prices on what we could do. The design he made was exactly what we wanted, while the price was reasonable. It was nice that he did not try to push anything with the pool that we did not want or need. Once we agreed to a design, work started at quickly and was completed within the timeframe. John was easy to communicate with and always got back to me when I had a question or concern. He was also honest about the status of the construction, and never over-promised or under-delivered a timeframe. The completed pool was exactly what we wanted. Everything looks professionally done and works properly. I really could not be happier with the finished product. Overall, I would highly recommend Oracle Pools. Out of all the contractors/builders/etc we have hired in Las Vegas, working with John was among the best. Above all else, he was honest, organized, and easy to get into communication with - all while providing a finished product that was everything we asked for.

Initially seemed to go well. We thought the owner was experienced and professional. Then we had issues with the plaster. The owner sent someone out who worked on repairing it. Problem happened again. This time a different person came out as we were told there was an employee death. This person did not know what he was doing. We contacted the owner again to request his assistance but he would not respond. We lived with it for the next few years until it got so bad that we found a new company. They verified that it had never been installed correctly and our pool was ruined. We paid another $25,000 to replace the shoddy work. We originally had a 10 year warranty but we decided it wasn't worth a lawsuit and we had no confidence the work would be done properly.

When we decided to build a pool, we interviewed a number of contractors and John Bowles at Oracle Pools offered both the best price and design. John was extremely professional and did a great job keeping us updated on the process, which was our very first pool build. John consistently followed up and arrived at appointments on time, worked hard to ensure all subcontractors performed as expected, and guided everyone to a successful end result. We're very happy with our pool and John has consistently followed up whenever we have questions or concerns.

The buildout was done on time and as expected. His sub-contractors were responsive and professional. John was always at the site checking on the work being performed. I tasked John with a specific acid-etched concrete finish decking that came out amazing. Overall the quality of the work is superb. Tons of attention to details. Several of my pool-owner friends have made comments on the quality of the job Oracle did. I highly recommend Oracle for your pool construction needs. I wish all the other trade contractors I used were as responsive and professional as John Bowles. He made this process super enjoyable.

It went so mooth. John (the owner) was great to work with. I had a vision of what I was looking for. I wanted a rectangular style with clean lines and a waterfall from the pool wall. John designed an absolutely beautiful pool which transformed by back yard into a beautiful relaxing resort! Everyone who sees it is just in awe and I still look at it and so happy I did it! I moved here from Minneapolis and I was trading cold, snow, ice and gray to a wonderful desert oasis.

I sent John Bowles an email about needing a new bulb. He ordered it from the manufacturer and emailed me when it arrived. We set up a time for John to drop off the bulb at my house. He arrived on time and installed the bulb for us.

We could not be happier with the new pool and spa that John designed and installed. He was always responsive to our inquiries and personally oversaw every step of the project. The subcontractors he utilizes are polite, professional and did an amazing job. John kept the project on schedule and coordinated all the different schedules of the various steps in the process along with communicating with us on all the details of the project. We interviewed and received bids from several contractors and we are so happy we went with John and Oracle Pools. We chose Oracle because John was with us from the first meeting, design, installation and completion. All the other contractors have the sales/design person who then passes the project off to someone else. If you read reviews on many different sites, one of the main complaints that came up over and over was the poor communication with project managers, subs, sales persons, and management and the troubles that resulted in major headaches for the customers. We recommend John and Oracle pools 100% and have no regrets.

Outstanding. He was always on time and responsive. Unlike other contractors who disappear after the contract is signed, John was there each time a new contractor was on the job. Great sub-contractors. On time and on schedule. Very clean. The pool, pool waterfall, spa, fire pit, barbeque island, pool enclosure, outdoor shower & landscaping were all perfect and magazine worthy. John is very talented in hearing what the client desires and putting those desires into beautiful pool and backyard plans. We adopted many of his suggestions. We used silver/grey travertine for the pool deck and stone veneer with granite for the barbeque and fire pit. We sit outside and are amazed how beautiful the backyard looks.

John was by far the easiest contractor I have ever worked with. (I've done 6 or 7 projects over the past several years including a huge expansion for a beach home...and I dreaded doing this pool). First, I think he is a great designer and will give you his honest opinion on what works and what doesn't.We interviewed several other pool contractors who basically just wanted to sell us and whatever we told them our thoughts were they said great and threw a design together without much thought.. One didn't listen to anything I said and just threw what I think was a predesigned plan from another house.
John made this project as close to stress free as a project could be. He was great about steering us to a different style of pool which would fit the small backyard much nicer than what we had envisioned. It worked much better and there was no cost difference. He is honest, very clear up front how the project works. He works with great subcontractors (so important) and kept us informed each step of the way. Worked with our landscaper on some issues with the trees and shrubs to ensure we didn't have problems with roots and pipes down the road.
He is what you want from a contractor. A great product and a reasonable (not cheap)...but reasonable price. We really didn't have any major issues during the whole project. Some slight delays occurred with weather and holidays, but nothing major and usually not in his control. The pool, spa, spillway, bubbler on the sunning deck for the lab...all turned out wonderful. A beautiful pool that my son absolutely loves.
If you are building a pool, or remodeling you would be crazy not to talk to John. I loved working with one person who was in charge and responsible for every aspect of the project.
I owe John a huge apology for this review being so late! When a company delivers the type of product and service he provided they really need others to know about it. (I'm horrible about doing reviews...but rarely hire anyone without checking Angies List). My resolution this year is to do better...and this is my first review...Very well deserved. Thanks John

John did a first class job of designing and overseeing the construction of our in ground pool and deck. We are extremely happy that we went with Oracle Swimming Pools and will definitely use John for any of our future pool needs. John was always available during the entire construction process to ensure everything went smooth. I could reach him anytime if I had a question, even on the weekend. My husband and I were first timers for pool installation and had no idea how the process was to go. We interviewed three other pool designers/companies before deciding immediately on John from Oracle Pools, whose price was in line with the other bids. At first it was because of his English accent, but then we were blown away with his professional manner, promptness, attention to detail in order capture exactly what we wanted and honesty. Once we met with him at our house, showed him the space and told him what we thought we wanted, he took measurements and wrote down exactly what our wants and needs were as well as our budget. A few days later, he returned with his computer in hand to show us the plans he had drawn up, along with a very detailed set of documents outlining not only what his plans were and the price for each piece of the puzzle ( not an overall general price for all), but the time frame of each phase, who his contractors were, as well as references for his work from past clients . His plans encompassed all our wants and completely captured the essence of how we wanted our back yard oasis to be.
John was also very accommodating to our few tweaks as long as he hadn't started that phase (more than once I called and said, " Hey John, I just had a great idea!" or "Hey John, I saw my neighbor's pool and they have.." . Because we were price conscious, John gave us an idea of how much certain things we later wanted would increase the original price, such as the travertine pavers I just couldn't get out of my mind even though we said we were using cool decking to keep costs down. John knew how much I wanted them and how they would make our pool area pop. He spent an enormous amount of time explaining alternate options and their costs and then found a way to install travertine for just barely over our budget, Hallelujah! Even though we ran into a few problems early on with caliche, which was to add a few weeks to our original time frame, John was able to get the pool in by mid-June, only a few days behind schedule. He quickly responded to our texts and calls, weekday or weekend, and came out to check on the contractors almost every day.
Our pool is amazing and we have enjoyed it every day, whether we are in the pool, spa or just sitting poolside enjoying the bubbler and waterfall. We are so happy we went with Oracle pools- the process went smoothly because of his professionalism and constant keeping on top of things. Oracle Swimming Pools provided superb service over the entire range of the project. My wife and I had never owned a swimming pool before, so the thought of having one built was a bit intimidating. After talking with friends who had pools and after much time spent surfing the web, we decided on the basics: a gunite shell lap pool with an automated cover and a gas heater. We selected two providers from Angie's list: Oracle and a large company that was also well-regarded. The bids from both companies were close in price and they both used top-notch equipment. We decided to go with Oracle not only because their design included a few extras for the same price, but mostly because we felt very comfortable with John.
We were impressed with the scope of the project and how easy it was for us to sit back and let John handle everything from the pool design to all the coordination needed for landscape removal, excavation and grading, pool shell construction, equipment selection and installation, plumbing design and installation, electrical work, installation of the powered pool cover, perimeter wrought iron fencing and block wall construction, decking, and all the required inspections and permits. As you can see, there were a lot of subcontractors, trades and skill sets involved. John knows and uses the same subcontractors on his projects. This is a hugely important factor, as all of us Angie's List members are aware that not all subcontractors perform equally well. It was a busy summer for pool construction and the best crews were busy. I did not mind at all waiting when necessary for the right crews that John wanted. They all did an excellent job.
At the end, I mentioned to John that I had not realized before how large and multi-faceted a pool construction project was, and how much could potentially go wrong if not handled properly, and how effortless it was for me to sit back and watch. He said "well, that's what you hired me for". Exactly.

John was very easy to work with and was very patient as we tweaked the final pool design. We contacted several of the larger pool builders in the Vegas area for bids. Some did not even respond, others were quick to discredit their competitors, and one had to be reminded of their appointment with us. John was on time and we quickly felt comfortable working with him.
Pool builds do not happen overnight, but John was very good about keeping us informed on what events were scheduled in the days ahead.
We are very satisfied with the final product and highly recommend Oracle Pools.

This was our first time installing a pool. We spoke to and considered 5 different pool contractors. Pool includes spa, pop up cleaners, two waterfalls, and two fire bowls. Pool equipment includes Variable speed Jandy pump, single speed Jandy pump, Jandy valves, Jandy heater, Jandy filter and Aqualink control system. Can control pool from smartphone. Very cool!
We chose Oracle Pools for a number of reasons. Firstly John created a beautiful pool design, and in our opinion the best pool design we were presented with. I think this is one of John's forte, as he was employed with a another pool company doing pool design for many years before he went into business on his own.
Second, we were looking for someone committed to diligently overseeing the project. Again we were not disappointed in John's attentiveness, and ongoing involvement. To this day, now going into our second year, I still call John with any questions I have regarding the equipment or whatever.
Of course, no project of this size does not have some glitches along the way. However any problem that arose was addressed and taken care of. John was easily accessible, very easy to work with, very accommodating, and basically set on ensuring that we were 100% happy with the final result.
The final result is that we have a great looking pool in the backyard and no major issues in terms of construction.
My suggestion would be if you are considering building a pool would be to at least let John present you a design. In our case it was better than the others, his price was about the same, and the pool was well built.

John showed up for the initial meeting and we noticed he was not anywhere close to the other contractors/sales people we had been talking to. Not only was he polite and professional from the beginning he also provided a lot of information both pro and con about pools so we could make our own decision. With the other contractors/sales people they were trying to tell us what we wanted instead of listening to what we wanted. Although our initial design was for a free-form style salt water pool and spa with a water feature, John presented us with a geometrical design that we fell in love with right away.
Being that we were building the pool into a hillside we added a waterfall feature along with two fire bowls, added a pebble pool finish, an in-floor cleaning system, a shallow swim deck area and additional decking as well. Along the way we had John change the cool deck coping to travertine, added extra decking, added granite ledge rock in areas, as well as added a fire pit. John handled these changes without missing a beat and kept the project on time. Although we had construction issues and delays with our block wall contractor, John's professionalism and calming personality kept was really appreciated.
Our pool turned out better than we could ever imagine and it was John that made that possible. Although John may not be one of the big companies out there he is for sure one of the best companies out there.
I am attaching some before and after pictures to show that John can make dreams come true.

With its two copper scuppers your water feature is particularly pleasing. The idea to go with the travertine stone as the copping was an inspiration on your part. Elements like this are worth the extra effort, especially when a house will be a much loved home for a long time. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Spool and decking installation was completed in six weeks - right on the timeline we discussed from start, but we were aware that it could change. John and his contractors worked with us at every stage, accommodating work schedules and other conflicts. Bottom-line, we were never surprised nor were we kept waiting. I would clearly recommend John's company to anyone wanting to install a pool, spa or both. He uses nothing but the best contractors who do quality work - very reliable and very professional. And, John's presence throughout was constant. Even to the point that he came out on a Sunday to make some minor repairs. You won't find better service or a better product.
