How do you know someone is not ripping you off? One good way to tell is when they tell you NOT to spend as much money as you thought you were going to, because you don't need it. (I did end up asking them to do a brake fluid flush on my 15-year-old car, but there was no pressure from them to do so.) I will absolutely be going back to Mr. Brake.

We didn't compare prices, so we are not sure if the price is the best. The brakes are making noise, and its been less than three weeks, since we changed them. They are professional and courteous, and quick. Might have been a little pricey, and the problems with the brakes.

Very well. I had been quoted a price three times higher by another repair shop and was told that the brake line needed major work. The gentleman who helped me (I believe his name was Mark) was very helpful. They completed the work as promised, with quick turnaround. I highly recommend them.

Another service provider wanted to charge me over $300 to replace my front rotos and front brake pads. So glad I went to Mr. Brake for a 2nd opinion! They said that my front rotors and pads looked new (I had them both replaced about a year ago) and the only problem was that a small piece of the pad had melded onto the rotor. They charged me $80.00 to resurface the rotor as that is all it needed.
I had them inspect the rear brakes only because they were still the original brakes and I have about 68,000 miles on the vehicle. They said that the rear brakes would need to be replaced after approx. another 3-5,000 miles but were perfectly safe to drive on now. I elected to have them replaced anyway. Total cost for all repairs came to $256.97. Still less than the first shop for front brakes only!

Called Mr. Brake and made an appointment. When I arrived I was greeted by Mark, the owner, and he immediately had my car inspected. I was certain before going to Mr. Brake that I probably need front and rear brake service. My brakes had been making a terrible squealing sound for several weeks. I was expecting to pay about $200-$300 for both front and rear brakes.
After a few minutes, Mark informed me that I needed service on the rear brakes. I asked him about the front brakes, I was almost certain the front brakes needed service. He told me that the front brakes were only 15%-20% worn, and that I did not need any service on them. He explained in detail that the awful sound I was hearing was from the rear brakes and that my total would be $160 after my Angie's List discount. I was very surprised to say the least. An HONEST car mechanic!
My car was finished in less than an hour, Mark gave me instructions for breaking in the new rear brakes, I paid my $160 and went on my way. The awful squealing was GONE!...and, my brakes felt better than they had felt in months and months!
