We hired moon nursery to plant some trees in our back yard and put plants in 4 of our large planters in the front of our house. We also paid them to redo the irrigation in the back. I told the irrigation team, and the moon nursery sales guy, and the moon nursery project foreman, about how the irrigation tubes come from the holes in the bottom of all the large stone pots. They all acted like it was no big deal. After they finished the job, I noticed that all the black irrigation tubing for the 4 light tan colored stone pots were just draped over the side of the pots, instead of coming up the the bottom inside of the pot like they were supposed to, and one of the pots in the backyard had no irrigation coming to it at all. The worst part of all was that they didn't even bother to trace out which valves were supplying what. They just ripped out old irrigation tubing or canceled out old lines. One of the lines that they canceled in the backyard was also supplying the 4 large clay pots in the front of the house. Basically, all the plants in the 4 pots in the front died. My husband and I called them so many times. They actually did come out to look a couple times and left. After so many attempts to contact them and find out what the solution would be, we gave up and put fake plants in those pots. I'm still very upset that they did such a horrible job with the irrigation, killed 5 of our new plants, left the 5 pots with absolutely no irrigation when before at least there was some irrigation although old; only haphazardly threw a few tubes over the side of a few pots; and refused to fix the problem. My husband and I are very busy. Still we tried so many times to contact them, but they just blew us off.

I called in and talked with a Sales Associate. I believe his name was Anthony. He were great on the phone. He was able to answer my questions and concerns and write up the quote. On the scheduloed date, I got a call from Diego who was running the crew for my job that day. The crew got there, asked a few questions and planted and made certain that everything was able to be watered. Great crew. Diego was excellent.

Moon Valley Nursey has absolutely horrible customer service and is taking advantage of their customers. I bought a tree from them on 4/24. I went there to buy a small cheap tree and they kept pressuring me to get a $600 tree. Eventually the guy offered it to me for $400, which I accepted against my better judgment. He asked if I wanted to pay a $150 fee for them to deliver and plant it or if i wanted to plant it myself. Well I said I'd plant it myself to save money. NOT ONCE WAS A WARRANTY EVER MENTIONED! Last night my tree completely snapped off near the base of the trunk. I have pics where you can see the tree had a large defect where it snapped. I called them to see if I could get a replacement tree and they told me that since I planted it myself there was no warranty and I was **** out of luck. But they would offer me a replacement for $300. The $300 replacement would also have no warranty and i really should pay $600 for a new tree, $150 for the delivery/planting and then they'd warranty it for 90 days. Are they insane? People are seriously hurting for money right now and they are ripping people off. All I want is my tree replaced or refunded.

As soon as I walked in the store, the manager of MOON NURSERY greeted me and kept mentioning how every plant and tree bought at moon nursery has a 100% gurantee if they die. They did all the planting and irrigation. 5 months later all the plants were dying. When I tried calling the manager he ducked all my calls. I called the BBB and they could not reach an agreement with MOON NURSERY.Long story short I am out $7000 and tell everyone I meet to stay away from MOON NURSERY.I have a family member getting a degree in horticulture and he said that MOON NURSERY has a horrible reputation in the industry.

Adam Gordon was the wholesale manager at Moon Valley Nursery and he was awesome. We went to the nursery first and we told him that we were new to the area and it's a brand new backyard and he gave us some recommendations. We were having such a hard time trying to pick everything out and he said that he gives free estimates. He came out to our house and helped us design the whole backyard. After we designed it and the recommendations of the different kinds of plants and trees we went back to the nursery and got to individually pick them all out and then they installed it. They're a first class outfit and they know their business. They know their plants inside and out and they don't just sell you anything. They make sure that you're getting the right thing and they guarantee them. They were actually here early.

We had a good experience wih the services and sales from Moon Valley Nursery. We purchased palm trees and plants for our back yard. The price was acceptable. Their landscape consultant discussed our needs in detail and the landscapers did an excellent job in our back yard. The plants and trees are developing beautifully.

We saw them at a home show last year. The work they did turned out well. The representative that we met with at the nursery that helped us pick out plants was very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of some of the plants we were picking out, what they would be useful for, and the care of the plants. He gave us a pretty good tour of the area and helped us to get what we needed. He worked with the managers to get us a nice package price. Their people showed up after a week and a half, so they were very timely on actually getting the trees and the rocks to our house. They showed up bright and early in the morning and just kind of worked really quickly and did what they needed to do to get the landscaping done. I kind of interrupted their Saturday too much. The only thing I do have negative to say about is when he figured in the amount of rocks that we needed he kind of gave us twice as much, so we ended up paying for double the amount of rocks than we actually needed. We are going to use them somewhere else, but it wasn’t something we had planned on doing yet. We are moving up another project just because we have the rocks sitting out in our driveway right now.

There are two big nurseries in town: Moon & Star. Moon- Larger selection, greater variety, hard sell (so be prepared when you enter it is like a used car lot). Better for landscaping. Star- more consumer orientated (like WalMart). Cheaper with their sales being very cheap, but little assistance. Better for gardeners. I have purchased equally from both depending on my need. Hint: Star, look for their sale items. Usually 30% cheaper than Moon. Moon, haggling definitely gets the better price. Don't be afraid to take a Star ad in as they will match or beat. Star doesn't haggle but Moon certainly does to offset the fact that their prices are higher to start with.

The planting of the tree was fine. However, the tree is NOT suited to this climate--it turned out to use a lot of water and is NOT cold hardy. We live at about 3000 feet, and within a year the tree was dead because of a cold snap, although we tried really hard to save it, covering it, using heat lamps, etc. They were clearly trying to get rid of a lot of trees. So we spent $1100 for nothing, and when I complained to them I received NO response at all. Don't buy a tree from these guys.

The planting crew was great and I have no complaint with them, but the sales people at the Tule Springs Rd. store are like used car salesman. They get you before you have even gotten out of your car. Because they are on commission, it becomes a cut throat game and for that very reason, I will never go there again.
