"Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. I am glad that we met with all of your expectations for quality, service and price. Chuck Kruse Owner"
"Thank you for the excellent grade, and as well, the confidence that you have placed in our company now and for the future. Chuck Kruse President"
"Firstly, I am sorry that our services did not meet with your expectations. It probably worked out best for both of us as we are a very high end company. Moving on, our GPS tracking, (all trucks are GPS tracked at MAC Roofing Services for this reason) shows we were in fact at your home on March 22, not March the 8th so perhaps you are confused as to who and what company was or was not on your roof doing an accurate measurement. As for your unhappiness, it seems that you are directing your discontent at us versus the people you bought the house from who obviously did a shoddy repair in order to get escrow closed. Not our fault. When you called for a repair estimate, we explained to you, just like everybody else that calls, repair estimates are not free. Is is just like calling a plumber or HVAC company for repairs. We charge an $85.00 service call for repairs and then time and materials for the repair. Had you of indicated when you called that you wanted an estimate for a new roof, we have sent an roofing estimator not a repair technician and that estimate would have been 100% free of charge. Hypothetically: If you had a continuous drip on your kitchen faucet, would you call 5 plumbers for FREE estimates to fix the drip? No plumbing company in the USA would send out a plumber for free to give you an estimate for $213.00 to fix the drip. They would give you the estimate and collect on the spot for the trip charge EVERY TIME. Why would our company be any different for a repair? In your scenario and in your world, 3-6 companies paying for fuel in truck and a salaried employee burning that fuel driving around town passing out free estimates to fix a drippy faucet or replace 4 blown off shingles should be free of charge so you can pick the company that is $187.00 while wasting the time of 3-4 other companies who's estimates are $190.00. Those 4 companies have now burned a total of $80.00 in fuel and 6 total man hours for a total wasted value of around $500.00 in total cost so you can get an estimate for $187.00 ($50.00 profit). In your scenario, one extremely lucky company makes 50 bucks at a total cost of $500.00 to everyone else. What world do you live in? Are we in Hugo Chavez run Venezuela? Where am I? TO: All Angie's List Members A roof repair is an $85.00 service call plus time and materials for the actual repair performed by highly qualified and skilled journeymen roofers. If you feel like you probably need a new roof and not just repairs, then please request a FREE estimate for the a new roof when you call our office and we will dispatch to you, in one our GPS tracked trucks, a roofing estimator. Chuck Kruse, Owner"
This exactly what we paid for. More than anything, the crew worked efficiently and the property cleaner after they left than when they started. Very impressive on all levels.
"Strangely, we have very similar names. I meet very few [Member Name Removed] with a "K", especially in this region of the country. Thank you just the same for your review of our company. I am glad that we met with your needs in the restoration of your roof. Chuck Owner"
"Thank you very much for the straight 'A' review. We appreciate your business and the trust you have placed in our company now and for the future with a warranty that is extendable for the lifetime of your home only as a result of your choosing a foam roofing system at this time. Chuck Kruse President"
"Thank you for the straight "A" evaluation of our company. We appreciate your time and energy in doing this evaluation. Chuck Kruse Owner"
"Hello Mr. [Members Name] and thank you for the review. As you indicated, we did a roof repair, not a new roof on this property. As discussed in 2011 and put very explicitly in writing, we would not warrant your skylight against leaks in conjunction with the roofing repair because the skylight was 37 years old at that time. Now, with the skylight at 41 years old it cracked and leaked, exactly as we predicted may happen. No matter how many times we came out for the same skylight leak on a 41 year old skylight, which we did. We did also give you a price to replace when we came out. Thankfully, your roof which we did in fact do a REPAIR on, is STILL NOT LEAKING. Just imagine how long we could make it last if you would put on a new MAC Roofing Services spray applied foam, and a new skylight. Mr. [Members Name], your own insurance company even sided with us on this matter and released us from the liability because the leak was not our responsibility as it was in fact leaking through a cracked and broken 41 year old skylight which we very explicitly excluded from our work, in writing, due it's age and condition. So here we are, your insurance company sided with us and against you, the Nevada State Contractor's Board sided with us and against you, and now you have paid someone else for a new skylight to be installed at double the price you got from us 4 years ago when you were made aware of the dire condition of the skylight then. Not even Lance Burton could have kept that plastic domed skylight from cracking and breaking in the intense Las Vegas sunlight. If in your heart you truly thought it was all us , would you have not given us a straight F review. So thank you for at least tossing a couple of C's into your review. Regards, Chuck"
Job Well Done!
"Thank you very much for taking the time to review our company. If you experience any other problems in the future, we are here to help. Thank you again for the business and for your faith in our company and our reputation. Regards, Chuck President MAC Roofing Services"
This is update is in regards to the response, which I missed until now. The only problem with the skylight was that it leaked around the sealed area, which I paid for you to re-seal. Seems like you did a terrible job at re-sealing. I did not need a new skylight, the company that came out re-sealed it the border and it was fine. But, thanks for your response. It solidifies my F review Chuck.
"Thank you for the review. Unfortunately, a skylight is made of plastic and just like an empty 2 liter Coke bottle that sits in the hot desert sun, it deteriorates to point that it cracks and shatters just by touching it. Your skylight is decades old and the plasticizers in the plastic lens have migrated out and the old plastic is very brittle. It will continue to crack and leak in the future if not replaced. We did give you a price to repair or replace the skylight and you chose not too have it done. I am a bit confused, did you feel like we should have replaced your $450.00 skylight included in the $230.00 maintenance "deal" price, and if so, do you really think that is reasonable? Respectfully, our average "A" rating with Angie's List is for roofing. Your roof no longer leaks, you need a new skylight. An $35.00 oil change with a 40 point vehicle inspection for your car does not include a new transmission if that is needed too. Chuck Kruse"
"Thank you for the very good review of our company and for taking the time to do a review. Chuck"
"Thank you for taking the time to review our company for the service provided. Chuck"
"My follow up on this shows the roof as being in good overall condition and no further recommendations for service were needed at this time. I apologize that we did not promptly follow up with you on this but am proud that our company never pushes an up-sell for unnecessary work. Someday you will need roofing work and we would like to be your first choice at that time. Chuck"
"Thank you for the review. I am glad that you liked our work but am sorry you felt we were expensive. $254.00 for 2 journeymen roofers for a 1/2 hour on site plus drive time, plus materials, plus insurance, plus workers compensation insurance, plus gas, etc., and then, just a little tiny bit left for gross profit and then take off the overhead costs. There are a lot of roofers that work from home with a cell phone, have no insurances, drug testing or proper licensing. They are certainly cheaper, but only until it rains. Chuck"
"Thank you very much for the straight A review. Chuck"
"Thank you for the good review. I am glad that you found our services to be of great $ value and of great service and quality. Chuck"
"Thank you for the good review of our company on your substantial project. We appreciate your taking the time to do a review. Chuck"
"Thank you for the straight "A"'s. Regards, Chuck"
"Thanks for taking the time to review our company. Unfortunately, your roof condition was beyond a preventative maintenance issue for the leaks you experienced. The key to preventative maintenance is that is done prior to serious problems being discovered. Just like an oil change is done before the motor seizes, we recommend preforming maintenance items prior to a leak being discovered in order to mitigate any serious damage to your interior. While the extra work we did was in the general area of the leak, without several more man hours to diagnose the situation and several hundred more dollars to move over one ton of concrete tile on the roof, the situation cannot be rectified properly. Obviously, $200.00 for preventative maintenance is unrealistic for the amount of work you required, especially when an actual leak is beyond the preventative state of affairs. I hope that you have success in the repairs you have decided to contract elsewhere and if we can be of service in the future, we will be here help. Respectfully, Chuck"
"[removed members name], Thank you for the review. We would be happy to give you an estimate for the needed repairs. The $229.00 does not cover extensive repairs. It is purely a maintenance price which is in fact, a matter of cleaning the debris from your roof, sealing pipes and vents with a caulking and touching up any minor visible issues. Where your patio cover meets the roof of the house is a significant leak area that needs more than minor maintenance. We would be happy to give you a written estimate for the repairs and will credit you back the $229.00 from that invoice if you choose to use us for the extensive needed repairs. At the price of insurance, fuel to Boulder City, labor and drive time on the clock, I am not to sure that the expectation for what can be accomplished for $229.00 may not have been misplaced. With respect, maintenance is something that is performed prior to the leaking issue to prevent the leaking issue and extend the life of a non-leaking roof. You change the oil in your car before the engine seizes, not after. You check the air pressure in your tires before they go flat. Regards, Chuck"
We had a slight issues with scheduling. We had an appointment and they unilaterally changed it without notifying me before. We did get the issue sorted out however.
"[removed member name] Thank you for taking the time to review our company and all of us here at MAC Roofing appreciates your kind words and acknowledgment of our high standard of quality and service. I do apologize for the scheduling mix up that delayed the project a day or so. Because we are very weather driven on our days we can work in the field as a result of wind and other weather elements, we can get delayed slightly as a result of these factors. Thank you for your patience, your business and your confidence in our team. Chuck Kruse Owner"
