They did not damage anything in the move. Three movers came out. The experience was about average.
They did NOT wrap my furniture in blankets. After they left and I gave everyone a large tip for being fast, etc. THEN I notices the scratches and damage to a few of my expensive furniture pieces. I called and called and never got a call back.FINALLY, the owner father came out to fill in the scratches. He too was upset that his son didn't call me back. One of the dresser drawers wasn't working correctly but the dad couldn't fix. So as much as I didn't want to call and speak with the ower, Michael, I did. And he had the nerve to tell me the drawer was probably broken before he moved it. I was so mad. The bedroom set was only a year old and working correctly. He give me all sort of excuses so I finally had to just hang up on him as he wasn't going to fix what he broke. I have another piece of furniture that was damaged as well, but that one I wasn't worried about.
In the end I had to call the company (Walkers) that sold me my furniture. They sent out a gentleman to fix the problem that cost me $60.
I had planned to use this mover when I moved to another state but NO WAY!! MICHAEL WAS RUDE IN THE END. His company moved me but if he had just wrapped my furniture and been more careful I would use him again. The guys were in a hurry and wanted to get home.
So I gave Interstate Movers an F!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great great great movers!
I discovered that the movers themselves receive very low wages (minimum wage or thereabouts), so they very much rely on tips from the customers. Please remember to tip them well, they deserve it.
Regardless, they worked harder than just about anyone I've ever seen at any wage. Tip them well, they sure earn it and deserve it!
