The technician arrived promptly as scheduled, identified himself and began inspection. While thorough and clean, only six pictures were provided in the report, no data or recommendations were documented and measured results or costs were not included. Questioned the cost of a replacement capacitor, $265, which I later discovered can be found for under $15!! One for each system was recommended. Based on sample pricing for potential failures I would shop around some as I have no confidence in the pricing provided. I later discovered a $59 coupon from HoneyBee for the same service for a total of $118.
The agreement also included a plumbing inspection which was much the same situation with slightly more realistic pricing provided for one recommended repair. Only pictures were provide in the report. Based on this experience I would not use this vendor again.
Both technicians were professional, personable and very open and communicative.
I had to call a professional. I originally called a different company with whom I scheduled, but they sent out a technician from Honeybee A/C.
The technician was very friendly, professional and thorough. He was able to diagnose the problem with the pump. Instead of having to replace the pump (which would have cost $$$) he was able to clean the pump and lube the bearings. He cleaned out the muddy sediment and scale that had built up in the bottom of the cooler. (By the way, mine was a window mounted unit). He did say that they didn't do a lot of evaporative cooler repairs. I had the owner's manual so he would be sure to know where to remove screws, which direction to lift the cover, and how to disconnect/reconnect necessary hoses.
The end result was that my swamp cooler worked very well, and the charge was very minimal. I am so glad I found this company. I think they are wonderful. I'm thinking of having them come and do the seasonal servicing on my A/C unit.
