The project from start to finish took about three weeks. The wood had to be ordered, Scott painted the wood pieces (many times) in his shop. Meanwhile, Jason came over to place and sand the sheet-rock (three days). Once, the mantel was complete, Scott brought it over and the mantel was installed within an hour.
The only caveat: The house got very dusty from the sheet-rock sanding. Close vents and change the filters after the project is complete.
