Overall the experience was great. Raymond did the design and really improved on what we wanted and tied it all together perfectly. He provided a full 3-d movie of the end result.
The job took 6 days (one day over schedule). Our only frustration was lack of supervision, but when we called Raymond he was quick to get the supervisor in-touch with us. I would have like to have more of an overview of how the work was to be done as it seemed at times they were doing things out of order which then caused things to be done 2 and 3 times.
The workers did an awesome job and worked very hard.
Price was great and in the end, everything worked out. We even ended up signing up for weekly maintenance.

Desert Springs Landscape did our back yard. We went with them because we were using Desert Spring Pools and thought it would be easier. Little did I know they don't really work and quot;togetherand quot;. Joe did a good design, we had to alter it due to lack of space. After you sign you will not hear from Joe, a different person takes over and a supervisor does the final walk through. Two guys showed up and did the install, they did not know where one of my trees went, they did half of the installs and left and we did not see them for two weeks until I called and continued calling daily until it was done. One guy showed up on the final day installed 5 trees and did not even water them. I could not believe it! They also did not fertilize them, or cut off any of the ties off any of the palms or plants, I had to do it. The plants also looked horrible because of this, and they claim to be and quot;in shockand quot; we will see.

Although we are happy with the final product, in hindsight we would have chosen an independent landscaper. There are cheaper and better landscapers available and the nurseries themselves will plant stuff for you for free. As long as you have someone who is an expert in irrigation, the planting and landscaping is largely just back-breaking labor. We used independent workmen to re-do part of our front yard and have had excellent results for a lot less money and quot;per plant.and quot;
Pros:
1. Joe, the landscape designer, is very knowledgeable and helpful and designed the project well. As with the Desert Springs Pools, they use computer-aided design that was of immeasurable help in making the project meet our desires.
2. To their credit, the company has come back several times to correct deficiencies. For example, they are out here today replacing dead trees and fixing things.
3. The final project turned out beautifully.
Cons:
1. The company only sent two or three workmen at a time to work on the project, which went on forever because of that.
2. There was little or no supervision of the two or three workmen. We saw the supervisor usually only to do a and quot;walk-throughand quot; and collect the next check. Had these been top-notch, experienced workmen with a great work ethic, that might be fine, but they were not. A lot of the time they slopped through their work and we are still discovering and fixing issues.
3. The supervision is also weak because you don't know who to call. Joe, the designer, kind of bowed out after the initial planting. I don't mind that, but he failed to hand off responsibility and give us a name and phone number of someone to take responsibility afterward. and quot;Marioand quot; seemed to be the supervisor (when he was here), then later on and quot;Edand quot; took over. and quot;Edand quot; seems to care but then they sent a crew here today and there is no supervision in sight.
4. A lot of the plants we got were pretty small and weak and quot;for the money charged.and quot; In other words, if we had gone independent, we could have had 24-gallon plants that were really healthy and it would have cost less than we paid for 15-gallon plants through Desert Springs. And all this stuff comes from a nursery anyway! And, apparently, they failed to fertilize anything which may explain why everything is weak. For the money paid, they could have afforded proper fertilizer!

They have had to come back several times due to warranty issues and as of today it's still not 100% resolved. Considered redoing yard in artificial turf but was too expensive. The thing that bothers me the most dealing with them is the constant calling them to follow up on progress, but overall the end result is good.

We met and worked with Joe Sorentino. Joe came out to our house and reviewd different issues with us. He was excellent to work with.
During the process Joe advised us on different trees, plants and stones. Any questions we had Joe answered right away or he called us back the same day. He followed the job from start to finish and is extremely professional. His crews were all very hard workers.
We would highly recommend Joe Sorentino to anyone who needs a professional landcaper.

Coordination with the other contractors was very poor. The people showed up to lay out the lawn and dig the plants before the pool/patio was even finished. The plans had changed, and the people doing the work did not receive the new plans. All of their work had to be re-done. The plants were delivered early just to get a progress payment. They stayed in our yard for almost two months before they were planted. About 10% died and had to be replaced.
The contractor was told specifically that the plants needed to be away from our block walls because of water damage potential. They ignored this request, and many plants were installed just one foot from the wall. They over-bought the plants and rather than take them back and issue a credit, they just planted them whereever.
I've subsequently had to remove over 20 plants myself, and there is significant water damage to our walls. I'm in the process of having the landscaping completely removed and re-done.

This is the most beautiful installation package that one could get. I absolutely love it. The people at Desert Springs were excellent and I would recommend them to anyone. I would invite others to my house to see their work.

Desert Springs Pools and Spas were very attentive to our needs and they explained everything in detail. They showed us the design of the pool, hot tub, and landscaping with the sprinkler system. They handled everything in a professional manner. When we had a question they made sure they answered them. I was very happy with the performance.

Desert Springs Landscaping was awful. They were connected with Desert Springs Pools who did a great job on our pool so we were surprised when the landscaping was so bad. They just didn't listen to any of our requests. My wife wanted colorful plants and they didn't give her what she wanted. I thought they had very poor communication.
