I was shipping the car back overseas and they worked me in with 1 day's notice. As with my first visit, everything was discussed up front, I was contacted if there were any variances prior to proceeding with actions, and the car was ready when promised.

After I dropped off my car to fix a fluid leak, and a woman, who I assume to be a principal, gave me ride to work. Along the way she complained about changes in the vendor agreement with Angie's List that were inconvenient for her. She complained about having to pay more and threated to drop her companies relationship. The topic switched to complaints about it being back to school time, so people were spending their money on their kids and not on their cars, so business was down. As a business owner myself, I would have expected that she would provide excellent service to a first time customer under the circumstances, to make them a repeat customer, but this was not the case. Maybe being referred through Angie's List was to my detriment..
After retrieving my car, I parked it on newspapers for a week to see if the leaks had stopped. After a week of sitting, it was apparent the leak had not been fixed. I called Desert Oasis several times to schedule a time to bring my car back. On the occasion when someone answered the phone (maybe the receptionist was laid off?) I was promised a call back. Other times, when no one answered, I left messages on the answering machine. No returned calls.
Maybe the problem they have with Angie's List is the expectation of good service.

"I called Mr. [Member Name Removed] as soon as I received this complaint. I explained the following business practices to him. (contacting customers within 24 hours of phone calls or emails is a common practice at my shop) I personally checked all records of incoming and outgoing emails and phone messages. We did not receive any calls from Mr. [Member Name Removed]. He also may have contacted me directly through Angie’s List which there is not any record of this either. I explained to Mr. [Member Name Removed] the following. We warranty all work 12 months or 12,000 miles. Had a mistake occurred in this repair we would have gladly warrantied it at no charge to him. This information is stated clearly on his invoice. This repair was done August 11, 2015. This complaint was documented December 13, 2015. We are here Monday-Friday 8-5. He may have stopped by any day to have this looked at. He would have been well within the time limits not to be charged to verify his leaking claim or for this repair to be done again. I am sorry to hear Mr. [Member Name Removed] chose on his own free-will to pay another shop for the same repair. I also asked him to provide me with this invoice from the other shop to verify it was the same repair. He took down our email (which also can be accessed on my website or here on angieslist.com) I have yet to see this invoice. As a business owner I stand behind my work and people. We do work honestly and with integrity. We have fair market pricing for the work we do with a warranty to back it up. We provide free shuttle services to our customer and more than fair warranties on our work to prove this. In conclusion of my conversation with Mr. [Member Name Removed] he requested we agree to disagree. This again is Mr. [Member Name Removed] free-will. Team Oasis has resolve this at his request. I am more professional than to dignity the other nonsense in the complaint. I will not comment for it does reflect the actual words expressed and completely taken out of content."

Was in only for an oil change, and to get some diagnostics completed. Malisa is friendly and knowledgeable and got everything setup--even tough I had booked online the night before and hadn't yet received a confirmation. She said they could drop me off at work--in Henderson, not exactly next door. George, the owner actually took me to work! Where does that happen? George is a great guy to boot. I have finally found the place where I feel good about bringing my '01 530i.

It was wonderful! They were great! We had a tire problem that they repaired. They did a general tune up and oil change. They tuned up the brakes as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices as they were much better than what the dealership would charge.

Superior service, just like last time. I've taken in my car twice, and the cost was several hundred less than the dealer both times. Quality and service better, by far. They got my car in when I needed it, and they finished when they said. Professional and courteous. I wont go anywhere else. Imagine, an honest place in Vegas...who would have thought!!

Both services went very well. I had been looking for an independent shop, as I try to avoid the dealerships and their expensive over head. The shop appears to be very well managed and all the work was done professionally and in a timely manner.
I would not hesitate to recommend them. I plan to have them continue to service my MB.

We are new residents to Las Vegas and I used Angies to find Desert Oasis European Auto Repair and based on most of the reviews it looked like a nice shop.
We brought the vehicle in on Nov 4th for service and all work was completed that day. The staff was very friendly and professional. The mechanics area was clean and organized, a good sign of a professional shop in my opinion.
On Nov 9th the "check engine" light came on. We called Desert Oasis to see if they could check what might be
wrong. They said they could not and the earliest to check the system would be 5 days later. Not happy about this. It only takes a few min to hook up the OBD to the car to see if the issue can wait a few days or we should stop driving the vehicle.
I had to inspect the vehicle myself. Upon closer inspection I found that the windshield wipers were never inspected, and the windshield washer reservoir required 2 gallons of water. While these are small issues on a car it makes me question if all the other parts of the job (which are difficult for me to inspect and verify) were done. Also after spending $1,287.76 you would expect to get a quality job done.
I am bringing the car back on Nov 13th and will follow up with what happens.

They also double checked all points of the service and stated they are happy with the work. I am happy with the way this was handled and changed my review because of this. I would come back again.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it was okay. Everything went fine. The only negative was that it lasted very long, it went on for over 5 hours. There was additional cost for addtional work they had done which was not on the big deal.

I had made the appointment to have the work done for the Big Deal fluid change ahead of time, but I added on the transmission fluid change request after my arrival, and they still got it all done by lunch time. The garage work area was very clean and organized, a pleasant surprise to me for an independent shop.
They are a little expensive, but, unfortunately, that comes with the territory for most German auto brands. They are definitely cheaper than the dealerships. Although I did not technically have any repairs done, I will return there the next time I need a repair. I have dealt with many less than reputable repair shops around Vegas, so I hope that I have finally found an honest, reasonably priced repair shop.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They're good. There were no additional charges. I've used them before. I like them. They send me a "Thank You" after using them so that is kind of cool and then they give me a coupon for a car wash in case my car sat outside for too long and it got dusty. Their thank you note has a coupon with a discount for the next time I come up and they are also very active in email to advertise discounts. It's not exactly the closest place to me but I kind of like the service and I like the employer. I think I just found them in the yellow pages so I have been using them for about a year now. I haven't had them do any major alternators or water pumps yet but I would go to them if I needed that. I just wish they'll move closer to my house.

I chose Desert Oasis (based on Angie's list reviews) to service my mother's vehicle. I was also planning to start using them to service my own vehicle since my 4-year manufacturer covered maintenance recently expired. I wanted to ensure everything would go smoothly so I called two days in advance to inquire on cost and scheduling. I explicitly asked about the cost of oil service for a 2004 Mercedes C240. The gentleman I spoke with quoted a price of $85.00 (prior to any discounts) for the oil and filter change. Two days later, the car was serviced and the billed amount was $103.00. When questioned about the prior price quote, the manager on duty stated that the person I spoke with two days earlier had no business quoting a price and insisted on the $103.00 charge. The next business day, I spoke with the owner of Desert Oasis. He stated he appreciated the call and would "re-train his staff." However, he was unwilling to acknowledge the poor business practice and instead simply apogized for any inconvenience. Business integrity means something to me and an owner who doesn't recognize an error in his own shop, and simply provide fair customer service doesn't get my business. This company stood firm and lost two potential long-term customers over $15.00.

"We here at Desert Oasis have acknowledged and apologized for any misunderstanding or wrong doing you feel we have done. I personally looked over and talked with my husband and Malisa about this issue. I read your emails with Malisa. I read your review. I looked over the invoice for the oil change. I see the complete charge as $94.52. Which is $85 plus tax and shop charges(standard disposal fee). I also talked to my technician who completed the oil change. He said he tested the charging system on the vehicle. I do not see a charge on the invoice for this service. Typically this is a diagnostic fee. My staff noticed the delay the vehicle’s starting and performed this service for free. We have been in business 11 years. Our mission statement is: To do quality service and repairs in a timely manner. Doing it in a friendly fashion at a fair and honest price. I feel we have and will continue to up hold this statement. This review reminds us there is always room to improve. Thank you."

I do like their staff. It's a long ways from my house. I was very happy. It's about a third of the cost the dealership would've charged me. They stuck by their estimate. It took them a lot longer, but they stuck by their estimate. They even threw in a free car wash at the end of it. So I was very happy with the service. They don't have a large waiting room or anything like that. There are restaurants nearby that you can go and hang out at if you like. They even mailed me a Thank You card as well as another gift certificate personally handwritten afterwards. I've never had that from the dealership before. I get $25 off my next visit.
