After retrieving my car, I parked it on newspapers for a week to see if the leaks had stopped. After a week of sitting, it was apparent the leak had not been fixed. I called Desert Oasis several times to schedule a time to bring my car back. On the occasion when someone answered the phone (maybe the receptionist was laid off?) I was promised a call back. Other times, when no one answered, I left messages on the answering machine. No returned calls.
Maybe the problem they have with Angie's List is the expectation of good service.
"I called Mr. [Member Name Removed] as soon as I received this complaint. I explained the following business practices to him. (contacting customers within 24 hours of phone calls or emails is a common practice at my shop) I personally checked all records of incoming and outgoing emails and phone messages. We did not receive any calls from Mr. [Member Name Removed]. He also may have contacted me directly through Angie’s List which there is not any record of this either. I explained to Mr. [Member Name Removed] the following. We warranty all work 12 months or 12,000 miles. Had a mistake occurred in this repair we would have gladly warrantied it at no charge to him. This information is stated clearly on his invoice. This repair was done August 11, 2015. This complaint was documented December 13, 2015. We are here Monday-Friday 8-5. He may have stopped by any day to have this looked at. He would have been well within the time limits not to be charged to verify his leaking claim or for this repair to be done again. I am sorry to hear Mr. [Member Name Removed] chose on his own free-will to pay another shop for the same repair. I also asked him to provide me with this invoice from the other shop to verify it was the same repair. He took down our email (which also can be accessed on my website or here on angieslist.com) I have yet to see this invoice. As a business owner I stand behind my work and people. We do work honestly and with integrity. We have fair market pricing for the work we do with a warranty to back it up. We provide free shuttle services to our customer and more than fair warranties on our work to prove this. In conclusion of my conversation with Mr. [Member Name Removed] he requested we agree to disagree. This again is Mr. [Member Name Removed] free-will. Team Oasis has resolve this at his request. I am more professional than to dignity the other nonsense in the complaint. I will not comment for it does reflect the actual words expressed and completely taken out of content."

This review is written 11 months later. Myself, George or my staff can not recall your visit. We take great pride and the most integrity in our work. I would not hesitate to recommend them. I plan to have them continue to service my MB.
We brought the vehicle in on Nov 4th for service and all work was completed that day. The staff was very friendly and professional. The mechanics area was clean and organized, a good sign of a professional shop in my opinion.
On Nov 9th the "check engine" light came on. We called Desert Oasis to see if they could check what might be
wrong. They said they could not and the earliest to check the system would be 5 days later. Not happy about this. It only takes a few min to hook up the OBD to the car to see if the issue can wait a few days or we should stop driving the vehicle.
I had to inspect the vehicle myself. Upon closer inspection I found that the windshield wipers were never inspected, and the windshield washer reservoir required 2 gallons of water. While these are small issues on a car it makes me question if all the other parts of the job (which are difficult for me to inspect and verify) were done. Also after spending $1,287.76 you would expect to get a quality job done.
I am bringing the car back on Nov 13th and will follow up with what happens.
Nov 13th update- I went back to Desert Oasis and they looked over the car and found the "check engine light" was not a serious issue. They also double checked all points of the service and stated they are happy with the work. I am happy with the way this was handled and changed my review because of this. I would come back again.
They are a little expensive, but, unfortunately, that comes with the territory for most German auto brands. They are definitely cheaper than the dealerships. Although I did not technically have any repairs done, I will return there the next time I need a repair. I have dealt with many less than reputable repair shops around Vegas, so I hope that I have finally found an honest, reasonably priced repair shop.
"We here at Desert Oasis have acknowledged and apologized for any misunderstanding or wrong doing you feel we have done. I personally looked over and talked with my husband and Malisa about this issue. I read your emails with Malisa. I read your review. I looked over the invoice for the oil change. I see the complete charge as $94.52. Which is $85 plus tax and shop charges(standard disposal fee). I also talked to my technician who completed the oil change. He said he tested the charging system on the vehicle. I do not see a charge on the invoice for this service. Typically this is a diagnostic fee. My staff noticed the delay the vehicle’s starting and performed this service for free. We have been in business 11 years. Our mission statement is: To do quality service and repairs in a timely manner. Doing it in a friendly fashion at a fair and honest price. I feel we have and will continue to up hold this statement. This review reminds us there is always room to improve. Thank you."
