Day One Electric Inc

I called Dave at Day One Electric on Thursday March 28th, 2013 to see if he could come over to my house and give me an estimate. Dave told me he was out of town but would be back the next day and would call me to discuss the job further. I called Dave Friday afternoon (Friday March 29th) and he came over about 30 minutes later to discuss the work. I wanted a new electrical outlet installed in my courtyard as there were no electrical outlets on the front side of my house. I also wanted to see if he could change a single outlet receptacle in my garage to a double, and to rewire another existing outlet in the garage that had been previously jerry-rigged.
Dave gave me a good quote and said he could do the work the following day, so I agreed to have him do the job.
Dave showed up on time the following morning (Saturday March 30th) and completed the work in about 2.5 to 3 hours. He probably could have done the job quicker but I talked to him the entire time and asked a lot of questions. When the job was complete Dave offered to give me a receipt, which I accepted.
Dave did a good job. The work was done professionally, on time, on budget, and I am happy with the results. I plan on using Dave in the future.

Dave was very responsive and was able to work with the current owner to schedule a mutually acceptable installation date that allowed the electrical problem to be assessed prior to the end of my due-diligence period. My one complaint is that Dave did not have an invoice/receipt to give me on the day of service. He hand wrote one on a piece of paper, but he promised to email me a proper receipt within a couple days. When that didn't happen, I called him a few days later with a reminder, but to date I still have no formal receipt. This is primarily an issue for me because I want to document all expenses related to the property I purchased. Plus it seems to me that if you are going to operate a business, you should have a supply of invoices/receipts available at all times.

I needed some new electrical outlets replaced and needed some florescent bulbs replaced. Called Dave and he was able to come out the same day. I have used his services three times and have been very satisfied each time he has respnded to my calls.
He is very professional, and fair in his fees. I will continue to call on him whenever I need any electrical services on the future.

I originally had called another electrical service company (Kemet Electric LLC). I told this guy what I needed done and asked him for an estimate, which he quoted , but then he started to give me senarios of what the price might be "If he had to do this or that". - Anywhere from $40 to $140 per fixture. He wanted to schedule for 7:30 AM the next day and I asked if we could schedule for 8:00 AM instead. He seemed to be annoyed and told me that he would come some time between the hours of 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. I told him that I would be looking for him at 8:00 AM the next morning and would he please call me as he was responding to the appointment. He agreed. The next morning 8:00 AM came and went, no phone call from this guy. 9:00 AM came and still no-show. I was more than annoyed. I got the telephone book and went to the Yellow Pages and found a friendly enough Ad stating that Day One Electric, Inc. could and would schedule appointments for same day service. I called and got Dave (the owner) and told him my complete situation, that the original electrician I called was a no-show and that I didn't want the guy's services now or ever. Dave told me that he would be at my house by 10:00 AM, less than a hour away. I called the other company and cancelled immediately. Dave came installed the lights without giving me some razzel-dazzel like I had gotten out of the other guy. I thanked him for his honesty and integrity. And what he quoted me over the telephone was the same price I paid for his services. And Dave even switched around a light swich for me at no cost, which I didn't expect.
