A week ago, 10/8, I called to report that one of the units was not getting the temperature down far enough. They didn't send someone out for two days, until Thursday.
When he came on Thursday, 10/10, the technician would not listen to me explaining the problem. He spent a couple hours, said the unit was fixed, and charged more than the $55 copay.
Due to the problems I had sleeping due to the warmth the previous few days, I didn't wake up until late Friday. The air was cooler, but still not down to the set temperature. When I called, the office was closed and wouldn't open until Monday morning. I left a voicemail message stating that it was an emergency, but never got a call back.
Now, a bit of background: due to the after effects of chemotherapy, my internal thermostat is off; I am always warm. We set the thermostat for 68, which means it is 72 in my bedroom (I have a lot of equipment that produces heat). When I get warm, my body temperature elevates and I feel ill.
I called first thing Monday, 10/13, morning and said that the air conditioner was not working properly. The person asked for details, I said that it never got below 70 at the thermostat even though it was set to 68; she said someone would be out Tuesday (yesterday, 10/14) between 2pm and 6pm. No one ever came.
I called at 6:30 and the office was closed.
I called at 8:30 this morning, after only a couple of hours of sleep despite the ceiling fan on max. The representative said they called the phone number in the file -- which I advised them not to call, but instead to call my number -- to say that they wouldn't come because if the unit cooled to 70 degrees it was working. I reiterated that it got to 70 at a minimum and was at 8:30am 70 degrees outside and 72 degrees at the thermostat and 74 degrees in my room. She said she had done what her manager told her and would speak to her manager.
I called back at 1:15, asking why no response, and she said she hadn't called her supervisor yet. I said it was not just a matter of comfort, but one of health. It is now after 3:30pm and have not heard back. This is very poor customer service. If we had known that they would refuse to service the appliances, we could have banked the $5000 and paid for any repairs ourselves -- without having to wait days for service!

Not as well as hoped. Missed water damage in kitchen cupboard.

BFS did an excellent job. They arrived at my home within 24 hours of my call to report the problems, worked efficiently, and repaired both appliances to my satisfaction. They had to order a part for the cooktop; it arrived in 3 days, and they accommodated my schedule to install it. I have a $0 service charge policy with the company so I had no out of pocket expenses.

We called and they came out quickly. They found the issue with our A/C unit and because it was late they came back first thing in the AM with the parts to fix my A/C. We were very pleased with the entire experience. First time using them, hopefully the last, but they have your back if you do need them.

Called BFS on Friday June 28 at approximately 5:30. Got a call back around 10 pm. Was told someone would try to get out on following day. Saturday no one ever showed up. Called again and they said it was no emergency since I had an upstairs AC unit working. Was told someone would be over following day. On Sunday got a call from the tech that he would not be over because he had a flat tire on his truck, and the spare tire wasn't good either. Called another company, Sun Country, to come look at AC. It was obvious that BFS was doing nothing to fix the problem. Sun Country (excellent company) said it needed a new compressor. Since it was an expensive fix, I had no choice but to wait for BFS. Finally on Monday a BFS rep came over and said the AC needed a new compressor and a filter dryer. The filter dryer was not covered under warranty and the AC unit never had a filter dryer before. Told the rep we didn't want a filter dryer. He said the only way we would get the AC fixed was if we paid $250 for the filter dryer. Since we had already been without AC fror 72 hours and the temperature was 115, we gave him the $250. Did he fix the AC. No, we were told someone would be out the following day by 6pm. At 6:15 I called and left a message that no one had showed up. A lillte later they called back and said someone was on their way. The only plus in this whole mess, was that they did send out an excellent tech to fix the problem. He worked until after dark to get the problem finally fixed. I would give him high marks.

Each technician who came to my home was pleasant and knowledgable. However, the guy who is the local manager for this (Las Vegas) area is terrible. He has absolutely no people skills other than being rude. Their service is never prompt. I've always had to wait days for service, even if something as necessary as a water heater or when the air conditioner was completely inoperable in mid summer. I have since changed home warranties and am much happier with my new provider.
Response from BFS - Las Vegas (Home Warranty)
"Hello, here at BFS we are geared toward customer satisfaction, therefore, we sincerely apologize if you have experienced unsatisfactory customer service in any way. Our response time for service is a maximum of 48 hours under normal circumstances; looking at your old account, I see only two instances where service was not performed within the 48 hour time frame and these instances were due to unavailability to obtain parts for your equipment. I hope I was able to shed some light on the situation. If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact us anytime. Thank you!"

They are really good. They just came out and he found a little something he needed to fix on an air conditioner. There is no charge when he comes becuase I pay for an annual basis. I was able to get a tune up for only $39.95 through their warranty services. I am happy with their services.

Broward Factory Service are people who have plumbers, electricians, and they come out if you have a problem with dishwasher, refrigerator, garage door, washing machines and take care of it. You Pay them $55 each time they come out. It turned out that refrigerator needed a timer. They got a similar one and installed it. We got it running overnight and that was enough to keep the food from spoiling. I give kudos for that. They came in diagnosed the problem, got it running temporarily till they ordered the part and they came back the next day and finished the job. For all purposes they have been very responsive. I would use them in the future.
