I am glad to hear the staff exceeded your expectations and was able to get all of your vehicles needs met in one trip. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again in the future."

"Thank you!"
Jim and Kyle run an honest shop.
I don't know a lot about cars. They opt for my long-term business -- which they now have!
When I brought the car in, BEFORE EVEN LOOKING AT THE CAR, he identified the ones the dealership was probably wrong about. Then he personally spent an hour poking around in the car, and told me there wasn't anything wrong with it.
I talked to several of his employees. They all seemed knowledgeable and friendly.
Once I was stuck without a ride and the picked me up to get my car.
"We appreciate the recognition of our employees. We have been in business for 15 years and plan to be there another 15 years. Your long term business and satisfaction is always our goal. We value your business and depend on your referrals for future growth. Thank you for letting us know we are doing a great job. Always appreciated!"
"Thanks for taking the time to let other members know about your positive experience with us! Its nice to get confirmation that our price and service was much better than the local dealership. We really appreciate your business! We are happy to service your new vehicle for you when it's ready, we service all makes and models."
After a 2-3 hour inspection I was told that the car needed an 'airbag spring'. As' I was such a good customer' he would replace it for the cost of the part only, which was $399.oo, I expressed my concern about the airbag as it was not a problem when I initially dropped the car off. He stated the parts can wear out at any time...'it was probably just a coincidence' that it happened while being serviced. He stated the whining noise was from the steering pump, but the car was still safe to drive. He stated the car would eventually drive better as it needed to 'reset' itself after being serviced. I walked away from his great service deal on the airbag. It may be a coincidence, but I truly question the business ethics there. Their finished product was sloppy and leaves a lot of doubts regarding the safety of this car in my mind.
05/15/2015. 1400 miles later and total 5 visits to this company for the initial problems ..the car is driving fine. Maybe the car needed to reset itself. The company tried hard to remedy the problems and now that I am not having to visit them every week feel better about them. I would use them again because they were so accommodating in trying to resolve the issues. Perhaps they brought in a different mechanic to fine tune the problems.
"Thank you for your honest review. We work very hard to ensure we are delivering the best service possible. We are glad you have been patient with us and are delighted to know that your car is working well again. Our sincere apologies for the issues. Thank you for having the confidence to use us again in the future. We really appreciate your business and promise to make your next service outstanding."
"Thank you for the feedback. I believe the service advisor you spoke with did not properly explain our procedures regarding poor fuel economy. Diagnosing a poor fuel economy concern, in the absence of a "malfunction Indicator" light on, is very difficult. Modern computer controls are very sensitive and will generally detect a problem when the computer determines it has tried to compensate for a problem for an excessive amount of time. Once the light comes on, a diagnostic code will be stored in the system and we will have a definitive direction to go in. Without any stored trouble codes, the process involves a physical inspection of all related components to determine if a problem can found, such as a fuel leak, clogged air filter, etc. If the physical inspection does not reveal any obvious problems, we must wait for the computer to tell us there is a problem, and within what area of the fuel management it lies. I understand this is inconvenient, but it is the only process on highly advanced computer controlled fuel systems. Although we want to resolve your concern, we don't want to sell you repairs that we are not confident are needed. I hope this helps to clarify what the service advisor was unable to explain to you. Thank you for returning to allow us to make the repairs. We appreciate the second opportunity. Please do not hesitate to ask another employee or the manager if you feel you need a better explanation. We appreciate your business and look forward to providing you a better experience next visit."
off a ?check engine light? code that via google, I determined was a secondary
or downstream 02 sensor. Not a big deal. I have changed them in the past but
due to the heat, I wasn?t up to crawling under the car myself. As my wife gets
off her job at 5:00pm we hustled over to Asian Auto Repair to deliver the car
prior to their 5:30 closing time. I had seen a few nice reviews online and
based on those, plus the fact that they are convenient to home, I decided to
take the car into have them look at it.
Walking into their Charleston office at 5:20 was a strange
experience. I stated the issue with the vehicle and the man behind the desk
turned.. looked at the clock.. and unsmilingly said something to the effect ?well I?ll have to reopen the register if you
want to leave it?. Wow ok sorry to make you do that but I?m in a jam (said to
self). After that bizarre welcoming, we left the car. My wife and I laughed
after we drove off at the thought of someone with a business projecting that
grim attitude. I asked her if it was just me misreading and she said unequivocally
?uh no, what was his deal??
In the day following we heard back from one of the warm
fuzzy folks at Asian. He stated that the o2 sensor was fine. Everything checks
out and that in his opinion we needed to take the car into Honda to have them
re-flash the computer. So I pay $105.00 for them
to tell me I need to take the car somewhere to have it repaired. Hmmm. Oh and before you go we would recommend you
service the transmission with us ($200.00+) and oh that engine mount I think it
was (I zoned out at this point), we can do for I think it was a cool $900 or
so. So wait, a thousand bucks and then
take it to someone else who will need to fix the real problem?
I called a few specialist Honda shops in the area to get
their take on the diagnosis. They all expressed reservations on the recommended
re-flash fix. One said ?well I suppose
that?s possible but I seriously doubt it?. That comment came from the Honda
dealership by the way.
That was 500 miles ago. After I went ahead and changed the
sensor myself with a genuine Honda sensor. (The one I replaced was a Bosch). No
codes since.
First off I understand anybody can make a mistake i.e. a misdiagnosis,
that is not my major complaint. Rather it was the extremely cold reception and
the total lack of any concern whatsoever. We turned to them as professionals-willing
to pay to help us out. I had to just shake my head with a grin after he took my
money without so much as a thank you or a ?have a nice day?. I left $105.00
poorer but wiser.
Have a couple of beers on a sucker gentlemen. Oh
and have a nice day.

"Thank you for providing Angie's List members a detailed review of your multiple experiences with Asian Imports. We appreciate your business and will continue to work hard to provide great service at a competitive price."
"Dear member, I am truly sorry you feel that our service is an absolute failure as indicated by ranking all categories an "F". Your comments are not accurate or complete. Your evaluation seems to be spiteful, not constructive as indicated by the comments being posted over a full year after your service. Here are the facts as they actually occurred...When you brought the vehicle in for service, your concern was of an oil leak. We examined the vehicle and found the entire engine coated in oil from top to bottom. At that moment, it was unclear how many different spots on the engine were leaking. The only thing that was certain, was the oil leaks started at the very top of the engine where the valve covers are. Everything below that point was soaked in oil. We then went on to explain to you that the valve cover gaskets will definitely need to be replaced and the engine would need to be cleaned afterword to determine if there were any other leaks. At this time, we advised you that there may be other leaks, but to avoid replacing costly components without positively identifying their failure, we would have to fix the obvious leaks FIRST, clean the engine and recheck it for additional leaks. This is the "CONTRACT" we made you sign so that it was perfectly clear what we communicated to you. With this information firmly in your grasp, you authorized $470.09 plus sales tax to repair the valve cover gaskets and an additional $34.00 plus sales tax for a pair of wiper blades and a light bulb. Not $1000.00 as you indicated in your review. After completing the replacement of the valve cover gaskets, cleaning the entire engine and road testing the vehicle, we located an additional leak from the oil pan gasket near the bottom of the engine. We notified you as soon as we had positively verified the vehicle would need additional work to rectify the remaining oil leaks. You declined the additional repairs and picked up your vehicle without completing the remaining necessary service. That is why your vehicle was still leaking after you had a repair done. Not because there was a defect in the quality of our work. I believe we operated with the highest amount of integrity, tried to save you money by not recommending you perform multiple repairs without confirming the necessity, and kept you educated and informed along the entire process. Although it is frustrating to know that we go above and beyond to perform at the highest level possible, we're still not be able to please everyone. This fact alone wont stop us from giving 100% everyday! Thank you for the opportunity."
