Wow for so many horrible reviews it makes me realize why you work with First American home warranty. It's probably your only business. Denying our warranty on our home pool issues. This company along with the home warranty company are trying to take advantage of Vegas locals who have paid for home warranty and are being denied as "pre existing" conditions. If you've been denied by this Alchemist pool for unfounded reasons write a complaint on [*** Link removed ***] I was given this information from another company on town. Apparently some company's in town work with home warranty companies. This is one of them, you can loom at any online reviews and 90%mention home warranty issues with Alchemist.

The company was very professional from beginning to completion of the job. Sean, the technician was professional and completed the repair in a timely manner. I highly recommend the company for any pool repairs and ask for Sean.

I had Alchemist do the weekly service since 2013. I had selected them because their fee was lower than other competitors. All was well until this year. Just recently, my pool turned green and they recommended draining it. I was okay with it until I found out when I visited my rental property this month and found out from the tenant that they had not been showing up regularly. I called them to verify and I was told they maintain a log of their weekly visits. I looked at the log and found out that they in fact were only showing up twice a month this summer and had missed plenty of weeks since the beginning of this year based on their log. That led me to conclude that the condition of the pool was due to their negligence. I asked that they drain the pool for free since it was I believe their fault and I would continue to be their customer. They refused and instead cancelled my maintenance. I tried calling, but no one wanted to talk to me. I even left a message to the owner but had not heard back.

Their LEAD INSTALLER seemed to have installed the new pool pump and heater nicely. He was in a rush after arriving late that day. He rushed off and said he would be back the next day to show me how to use the equipment. A week went by and I called to ask for help in turning on my newly purchased equipment. Keep in mind that this is my first pool in a newly purchased home. The person that amswered the phone said someone would be by on Friday. Friday came and went with no appearance.
I waited a few days and called again. I had to explain that I purchased the equipment from them and was never shown how to use it.
FInally someone showed. He spent less than 10 minutes going over equipment operation. Put a few paint pen marks then told me that"pool school" was $80. I explained that I had been promised instruction when I purchased the equipment. I was told that they are busy and can't be expected to spend time explaining things to every customer. I was shocked. I had planned to use their pool cleaning service, but changed my mind.
A family member called the owner, Rick. He promptly made excuses and never took responsibilty for the shortcomings of his employees. He said, "my lead installer is upset because he explained things that day." Owner Rick was ready with all kinds of excuses and denials. he claimed that his employees did not do what I had said.
Customers are not right. The business is too busy to take care of customers. Employees lie.

They were great. They were American Home Shield contractor. They fixed all the problems that we had encountered rather than just fixing one. I guess there were three or four complaints that we've had for a long time and only one of them has been getting fixed and besides being very personable, they seemed very confident and they fixed, whatever they did, fixed the four complaints that we had. There was not a lot of interaction except with the technician. He was extremely good, very knowledgeable, very confident, did what he said he was going to do when he promised.

Alchemist was the service provider assigned by my home warranty company, so the $75 cost is actually the co-pay for the warranty service. My in floor system wasn't pushing the water and debris around the pool as it should, so I was getting algae in spots and had to manually vacuum weekly. I am the second owner of this system and have no records or directions on how to operate the pool system. The technician, Josh (I think), took a look at my setup and immediately noticed that one of my valves was set wrong. A previous pool service company had moved the valves around to make the waterfall run constantly. So the valve wasn't allowing enough water pressure through the in-floor system to operate properly. He re-calibrated the valves, and the system works as it should. No more algae or debris problems! He also took the time to label the outlets on the system and direct me on how to operate things. He was VERY knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Alchemist and will use them in the future.

They're very nice, polite and they come on time. I had posted on my yard that there's a big dog in the backyard and that somebody should stop and ring the doorbell. I went through several pool companies who apparently figured that they didn't have to do that and my dog is gonna get blamed for whatever happens. But these guys not only called, they would ring the bell or call me from my driveway to see whether or not they should just go on through. Also they do an excellent pool cleaning job.

The service tech came out right away, worked with the home warranty company, determined replacement was the only option and installed a new heater the next day. I should note that the installation was done on a Friday in the pouring rain. I couldn't be more pleased.

I've had pools for most of my adult life, and until Alchemist, I'd come to regard pool service people as folks you had to outwit at worst, and keep a foot on them at best. Moving to Nevada, where the mere fact that I am a woman apparently allows some of these dunderheads to think they can not only take advantage of me but then tell me why they can and I had just better learn to enjoy pretty much cemented my outlook, and then by lucky chance I changed to Alchemist Pool services.
For the first time I got not only courtesy, but friendly, competent service. I have a large dog who does not believe in sharing the back yard with strange people, so I want service done at the same time each week and thus can make sure he's indoors at the correct time but not locked up without his breakfast half the morning. Not a problem for Alchemist Pools. I had questions about mysterious (to me) things about the system -- they were explained to me in layman's terms, without condescending tones. Suggestions were made as to doing things that pool companies do, and I certainly cannot blame anyone for that -- cleaning the pool filters, for instance. Yes, it is something I know how to do, but it is also a service they offer, as an example.
I can call them at any point, and although everyone I've ever talked to is completely professional, since it is a family-owned company I do not feel like a cipher speaking to a receptionist taking a message. Small extra touches like nipping up a leaf that just fell on the pool surface, even though you are packing up as finished, speak volumes for the way Alchemist does business.
When the water quality indicated a refill was due, it was arranged to pump out the pool with no trouble or inconvenience to my household, and as the walls were cleaned and the pool refilled the difference is sparkling water; my pool always looks fantastic.
I wish medical and other 'professional' offices could take lessons in service and mannerisms from this company, not to mention I wish I could get the same great results. I read the one dissenting rating, and do not understand the approach -- if you are a housewife and see a dusty ledge, you are going to use your favourite duster to take care of it; someone else may use a different way, but who can fault you in business for suggesting your way? Alchemist gets the highest marks I can give it!

I was very happy with their service. I had heard that it's hard to find a decent pool service in Las Vegas, but this company is great. I had no problems at all with them, and the pool was always clean. I would definitely hire them again if I ever have another pool.

Cleaning service is excellent. All chemicals are supplied as the pool water is kept in sparkling condition. Because of high evaporation in Nevada desert, the concentration of minerals can become too much for any chemicals to treat. Alchemist kept track of this and, at the appropriate time, recommended a pool refill. That was less traumatic than I thought it would be.
Periodically, for an additional fee ($50), the filters are taken apart and thoroughly cleaned.
There have been only a couple of times I needed repair work. Once on a defective back-check valve in the hot tub. The other on the automatic pool floor cleaning system. Both repairs were done at a reasonable cost, within or at the quoted price.

They are thorough in the weekly service, and the pool generally looks sparkling when they are done. The owners, who are a family, are very pleasant to deal with and have always been available, helpful and informative when I have called them. Unlike some pool services, they don't look to make a quick buck on equipment replacement. I read the very negative report of one Angies List member from a few years ago and am very surprised to find someone who had such a bad experience with this company, as my experience over the past year or so has been completely positive. I would highly recommend this company for service or repairs.

We called our warranty who called alchemist pool service. they came the next day which was nice but had said they would be there around 11:00am and instead arrived at about 1:00pm. the serviceman, Ryan, came around back and seemed to immedietely know what was the problem. I asked if he could check and see if he saw anything else wrong and he agreed to. i paid him our $50 deductible and let him conduct his business. 20 minutes later i had not heard from him and discovered he had left without giving us a report or leaving us a receipt. when we called the lady said ryan was in a rush and would call us which he never did. two days later my wife and i went to go into the pool with our son and imagine my surprise when i discovered that it was 102 degrees. since we never heat our pool and do not touch the heating program it could only be from the repair job. i could not switch the pool heater off from the remote so when i went outside i discovered that the pool heater had been turned up to it's maximum and and the remote to the house had been turned off. I immedietely call alchemist and left a message for the manager to call me back and was called later that day. the lady who said she was a co-owner told me that she would investigate and would have ric, the other owner, call me back the next business day. three days after that i called back and was finally able to talk to the owner who, not even asking my side of the story, told me that it wasn't their fault but a programming fault and that they have no responsibility. When i tried to explain otherwise, he attacked me saying such things as it was my responsibility to check the work (i am not a pool repairman and do not know what to look for) and that since we only contacted them through our warranty, we shouldn't expect them to be responsibille for their work. finally, the owner ended his tyrade with telling me he will have nothing to do with me ever again. the service and responsibility of this company is very sub par and the owners were extremely rude, uncooperative and i hope that no one has to deal with this company again. i do not expect the owner will pay for the two days of heating my pool to 102 degrees and that i will eat that cost

They have maintained my pool in a beautiful fashion. They have done all repairs and installation of new equipment. They are reliable, knowledgeable and honest. I was very happy to find a pool service that I could count on and trust. They charge me $110/month for maintenance.
