This auto is a classic, so the quality of work was of utmost importance. They exceeded my level of expectations, which I pretty high.

I chose ABC Auto Body because of all their great reviews on Angies list. Unfortunately, my experience with Don Hess, the owner, was the exact opposite of what I read in the reviews. The customer service and quality of work was far below what I expected. My Scion X-B had been rear ended, causing damage to the rear lift gate (door) and rear bumper cover. The other driver’s insurance company agreed to pay for all the damage. I got estimates from three (3) body shops, including ABC Auto Body. The first red flag, which I should have paid attention to, occurred when Don Hess gave me a written estimate listing the color of my car incorrectly as “maroon”. Rather than looking up the color code on his computer, he just eyeballed it. I should have taken that as a warning sign. The other two body shops listed my car’s color correctly as “black cherry pearl”. The work entailed smoothing out dents on the rear lift gate, replacing the rear bumper cover, and painting both the bumper cover and the lift gate to match the pre-existing paint on the car. It seemed simple enough. However, when I went to pick up the car after the work was completed, the first thing I noticed was that the color of the rear bumper cover and rear lift gate was noticeably darker than the rest of the car. It wasn’t even close. The second problem I noticed was that there was a ripple in the paint on the “new” bumper cover in the same location where there had been a ripple in the paint on my “old” bumper cover. This led me to suspect that Don might have repaired the bumper cover, rather than replace it. When I asked his mechanic Jeff about this, Jeff said “well, we ordered a new bumper cover for your car”. However, Jeff never offered to show me my “old” bumper cover as proof that they had replaced it and, unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me to ask for it. Remember this. I’ll be coming back to it later. One of the other mechanics buffed out the ripple in the paint while I stood there, and it was gone just like that. Another problem was that the garnish (door handle) on the rear lift gate was very loose; much looser than when I brought the car to them. I had recently replaced the handle due to a design defect, and it had been working fine up to that point. Don’s response, when I pointed the problem out to him, was that my car was a “cheap” car. I told him the handle needed to be tightened. So they took the car back inside the shop, removed the handle from the lift gate, worked on it a little bit, and fixed the problem. All it took was 15 minutes.. The final problem was the paint job. I pointed out the color mismatch to Jeff, who was handling the transaction at that point because Don had disappeared inside the shop and left it in Jeff’s hands. Jeff said the reason the new paint didn’t match the old paint was because the new paint needed to be “blended” into the old paint, and insurance companies don’t pay for that, so auto body shops don’t routinely do it. So, according to Jeff, it wasn’t a “color match” problem. It was a “blending” problem. I reluctantly accepted his explanation, but when I brought my car to other body shops in the valley afterwards for a second opinion, they all told me that it was a “color problem”, not a “blending problem”. They said the paint match should have been “much closer”, and that any slight difference in color between the “old paint” and the “new paint” should not be visible to an “untrained eye”. On my car, the color difference is very obvious to anyone who looks at it. It looks like a "two-tone" car now. .A manager from another body shop told me emphatically that he “would not put out work like that”. They all told me that the lift gate and rear bumper cover needed to be repainted. I returned to ABC Auto Body about a month later, in September 2015, to complain about the work they did on my car. When I told Don I had suspicions that the bumper cover had been repaired rather than replaced, he backed away from me suddenly and said, “Now I’m going to get defensive. I showed you the part”. But, that wasn’t the truth. He never showed me the part. Don wasn’t even with me when I raised the issue about the bumper cover with Jeff. After a short discussion, Don finally admitted that the color match was “terrible”. He told me his reputation is very important to him, and that he would “fix the problem”, but wanted me to know that “he would be paying for it out of his own pocket”. He presented it as if he was “doing me a favor” by fixing it. I thought that was an interesting way of looking at it. And then it got more interesting. He told me to come back after January 01, 2016 (4 months later), and he would fix the problem at that time. I thought it strange that I would have to wait 4 months for him to fix it, but was happy that he had at least agreed to make things right. I returned to his shop in February 2016, and asked him how he was going to fix the problem. I wanted to know exactly what he was going to do, before I would leave my car with him. He told me he was going to lighten the color on the ends of the rear bumper cover, so the color difference between the bumper cover and rear quarter panels would be less obvious. When I asked him about repainting the rear lift gate, he said no. He told me he had never agreed to repaint the lift gate, and justified his refusal by saying that paint is very expensive. Then he got sarcastic with me and said, “What do you want me to do? You want me to repaint your entire car?” He was becoming progressively more insulting. I told him I just wanted him to repaint the parts that he had painted the wrong color, specifically the rear bumper cover and the rear lift gate. He wouldn't budge, so I told him I was done with him and left his shop. Before I left, I informed him that I would be writing a review about my experience there. So, here it is. This is the worst customer service I have ever received in over 40 years of car ownership, and that’s saying a lot. I was shocked by how poorly I was treated, especially considering the glowing reviews he received on Angies list. How he got all of those glowing reviews is a mystery to me. He did sloppy work on my car, and treated me in an unprofessional manner. Based on all of the mistakes they made, it’s obvious they put very little effort into making sure my car was done properly. The quality control was terrible. Don Hess may be capable of doing good work when he wants to, but he certainly didn’t do a good job on my car. Based on my overall experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this shop.

I contacted ABC about some repairs to my car. I took the car down and they provide a written estimate. After getting a few other estimates, I felt most comfortable with ABC, Luckily, they also had the best price. We arranged a time for me to leave the car with them.

I dropped the car off and they went to work. I picked the car up 2 days later, they finished a day ahead of schedule. The quality of work is very good and I am happy with how my car looks now. They did great work. I would definitely go back to them if I need additional body work done in the future.

ABC states they to 'auto painting' but was informed when they finally answered, that they "do not do full auto painting".  No explanation as to why or when they stopped, just they don't do it anymore.

My initial phone call was picked up but all I heard was a conversation between a customer and whoever answered the phone.  I never was recognized so hung up and called back the same number only to get a recording that stated the mail box was full and call back another time. I tried the alternate phone number listed and it went directly to voice mail.  Hung up and called first number again and was, this time, answered and told that advertised services were not available.  The person did recommend another company but by this time, I was pretty peeved and said 'thanks' then hung up.

I was a bit apprehensive when, after getting prices from two other Angie's List recommended providers Don (the owner) gave me a quote that we 75% lower than one and 50% lower than the other. My thinking usually is "you get what you pay for." However, in this case, he was so pleasant and obviously customer oriented that I decided to take a shot. He was extremely thorough in the initial exam of the car (lots of bumps, scraped and bruises from various 100 year old drivers in the Sun City Smith's parking lot.)
When I returned a week later to leave him the car he once again went over each and every service he was providing.
I was going out of town for a week anyway so it was the perfect time to leave him the car. When I returned a week later not only was the car fixed to perfection but he came in about $100 less than his estimate!
Don is "customer satisfaction" oriented and I would happily recommend him to family, friends and anyone needing auto body repair.

The job was performed expertly, at a low cost, and very quickly.
The real key is that the work was quoted expertly first by the person actually doing the work, not just an estimator.  So with the actual person who does the body work performing the quote, the estimated price, actual price, description of labors, parts needed, etc. was all right up front.  Other auto body shops that I went to quoted completely different amounts simply because there was a separate estimator person just going off of what the computer says is required for the job.  Auto body work is an imperfect science and requires a hands-on approach and years of experience and that is what I got with ABC.
Another fantastic element of the service and probably even more important to the overall finished product is that minimal invasion into the factory paint job was a key selling point.  I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this, but the factory paint job on your car is better than any auto body shop can do UNLESS they strip the car down to the bare metal, dip it, paint it, bake it at an insanely high temperature and reassemble it.  Auto body work can't compete with the factory paint job because all the wires, plastics, etc. can only be baked at less than boiling temperatures and therefore the paint job can never be as hard or as adhered to the metal as a factory paint job.  A lot of the other auto body shops wanted to replace the whole rear quarter panel which would've meant fading the paint on the new quarter panel into the door (which requires re-painting the perfectly fine door too) meaning even more factory paint would've been ruined.  ABC just pulled the tear in the rear quarter out, and left as much of the factory paint intact while fading the new paint into the old.
A job well done on all accounts.

Exceptional!!!
Don the owner is fantastic.  He gave me a great price with a discount for being an Angies List member.  I had another estimate that was $2600 so I was very happy with Don's  price.
The work was done ahead of time and the workmanship is amazing!  You can not tell that there was any damage!
All the staff are very nice too!
I will never go anywhere else and recommend to everybody.

Don was pleasant on the phone and suggested I bring over the item to discuss the project.
Jeff (painter) did a great job. He met his deadline and called me when it was ready for pickup.
Friendly people, pleasant to deal with.
I feel good that I now have an auto body shop for my cars when I need it.
BTW: I found them on Angie's List!

There is probably only one honest auto body repair facility in the US. And I was fortunate to find it, at ABC Auto Body Repair. I had an estimate from a "Chaim" store who's name is probably known by anyone that has required this type of repair service. If u are aware of how estimates are pre-determined by a book that tells the repair what parts are to be replaced, how many hours it takes to replace/repair a part and a grand total of the cost of repair. I felt that the repair shouldn't take as long or cost as much as I was being quoted. After contacting Angie's list and reading the reviews I select this facility. After taking my car in and talking to Don, the owner, I was confident that I had come to the right business and the comments on the Angie site were spot on. Bottom line, Don's estimate was a third of the chain store quote. And then, Don added a Sr citizen's discount!!!! The quality of the repair was beyond expectation and the time projected was less than the estimate!!

Very fast service. They managed the repairs and the insurance company very well to complete the repair in a timely manner.  They even detailed my car before they returned it to me. The car looks better than before it got hit.

Another satisfied customer!  Don and Le gave me a ride home the day I dropped the car off at the shop.  They started work on my gunmetal gray  2011 Honda CRV first thing on Wed morning and the car was ready for pick-up 10:00 am on Fri.  I couldn't even tell where the dent was and there was no difference in the color of the paint at all...beautifully blended in across the length of the car.

Okay, I'm going to try my hardest to not make this read like a paid review, because I cannot think of enough good things to say about ABC and its owner, Don.
I had an enormous dent in my SUV's quarter panel, far too big to be fixed by home remedies (plunger, alternating heat and cold, etc.) I also had damage on my front bumper, from trying to squeeze into too tight a garage. I went to 4 different shops, one of which said straight-up they couldn't repair the dent (despite having "Dent" in their name), and two of which offered similar estimates, each with the caveat that the dent was so big that the job might end up costing much more. Also, the larger of the two shops told me they were backed up for a month and that once I brought my rig in, it'd be there 7 to 10 days. Pay attention to that, it'll be relevant in a minute.
Then I went to ABC, where the tech wrote me up an estimate quickly - for less than half what the other two shops quoted. Furthermore, ABC didn't even flinch with regard to the dent. "Of course we can repair it. No problem." I was skeptical, and thought the price was too good to be true, but I'd read the Angie's List reviews and gave ABC a shot.
I went to ABC late on a Friday afternoon. They said they could take me first thing Monday, and have it ready by the next morning at the latest. They did, and they did. For EVEN LESS THAN THEIR INITIAL ESTIMATE. And the work was flawless. You'd never guess I'd ever had a problem. Please, give this shop your business if you live in Las Vegas and need quality work done.

My experience at ABC Auto Body was the most seemless experience I have ever had with a auto company of ALL types. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the care I received from Don and Steven. My driver side front door appeared to have had an attempted break-in which caused it to stay ajar with the constant dinging sound staying on. I contacted ABC via their website due to it being after hours. Don was willing to make a Saturday am appointment the next day to fix it but unfortunately I somehow missed his email. I ended up speaking with Don on Monday morning and he immediately knew who I was. He was sympathetic to the challenges I had with missing work, so he said I could bring it in early the next morning (which I believe may have been before they actually opened). When I arrived Steven assisted me immediately. He made a few minor adjustments and it was fixed in less than 10 minutes. I was blown away and asked what I owed. He told me there was no charge. With a full time job, part time school, and a crazy schedule the seemlessness of the transaction meant the world to me. I immediately came into work and shared my experience with my boss who will soon be taking his car there. There will be plenty more recommendations coming from me for ABC. They truly exemplify A+ customer care.

Have had some experience with auto repair so am able to spot shoddy work. The only thing that got my attention was a beautiful result ! Don knows his craft and to top it off utilizes good old fashioned face to face service. When dealing with Don you get the feeling he is a nice, honest craftsman that will do his best to satisfy his customers .
