A One Carpet/Upholstery Cleaning

On the plus side: A One offers same-day and 24-hour emergency service.  Our job was small, easy and not an emergency but they were able to provide same day service.  Their price was fair, and average by comparison.  I'm generally easy to please and, having been a small business owner myself, tend to trust small businesses to do their best to do get the job done right.  We had an issue with needing two pieces of furniture moved (too heavy for my old back) which A One Michelle said her technicians could move.  My wife and I took care of the rest.  A One Tech's called and arrived a little early.  Great!  Turned out that the furniture moving WAS a problem...something about "liability"...  Well, okay, so the Tech agreed to move the coffee table (about 50 lbs) and love seat (about 100 lbs) over a little way.  But, no, I didn't want them to just "clean around it."  They worked fast and finished in one hour.  My wife paid them and included a $20 tip.  She's good like that.  Anyway, the tech told my wife the carpets would dry in about 2 1/2 hours.  Of course that left the heavy stuff to me and my bad back to take care of - thanks guys.  We turned on all the ceiling fans and central A/C fans, left the windows open, turned on the security system and went out for a few hours while the carpets dried.  After five hours they were not only still not dry but soppy wet in some areas.  We called A One and asked for someone to come out to finish the extraction process.  A One Mike said that couldn't be done because... something about our neighbors might not like the noise they'd be making at night.  (How A One gets around that noise-at-night-neighbor problem as a "24 hour EMERGENCY" service I don't know.  Perhaps the problem was me thinking I had an emergency?  Silly me.  My wife tried to explain that we were having a large gathering of guests the next day and we REALLY needed for the carpets to be dry.  Mike told us to "just be patient" and call him at 10AM the next morning.  Patient my..., just dry the carpets!  We kept all the fans on and left the windows open all night.  I got up periodically throughout the night and checked on the wetness.  By 4AM the worst soppy spots had dried to just being wet, and by 6:30AM the worst areas were only damp.  By 10AM I finished putting everything back in its place when Mike called.  I told him we no longer needed his services.  We live and learn...

What a relief to find a carpet cleaning company that actually responded and showed up on time!  My mom met the guy at my old home and I showed up to find that the carpets looked great, price was fantastic and the service was so prompt and friendly.  Big shout out to Lisa at the office for squeezing me in on a one night notice since my bad experience with another provider.  Great customer service!
