They took my Jeep in immediately and quickly discovered the problem, likely caused by shoddy work from another shop. It was a small issue, shown & explained thoroghly & was fixed immediately. I asked for them to also align it & they obliged & had it done very quickly & for a reasonable cost. This shop is honest, skilled & the folks are very friendly. Highly recommend!

About 2 months ago I had some work done by Carl's Cool Cars. The rack-and-pinion steering box was leaking and Carl sent the original components out for rebuild. After this service Carl said his shop was able to set the tow, but getting an alignment would be prudent.
On the drive home, over two hours outside of Vegas, I noticed the steering wheel didn't position or handle correctly. I emailed Carl and he said to get it aligned first and then he would look at it again. As a result, I returned to Vegas and took my vehicle over to A Arrow Alignment, a shop that Carl had previously recommended after he had replaced the front struts two years prior.
The Arrow tech calibrated the alignment and then Joe took my vehicle for a test drive. He came back and said the bushings were shot. The tech had Joe pull the vehicle back into the shop and the both agreed that the rack bushings were bad. Arrow said they aligned the vehicle to the best of their ability, but refused to charge me because they couldn't guarantee the work due to the compromised bushings.
Both Joe and Mike knew the shop that rebuilt the steering box because they were the only shop in town that performed the service. They said even though Carl had outsourced the rebuild, it should still be under warranty and recommended I go back to Carl and inquire. It wasn't quite 5 PM, I drove over to Carl's. He said there was nothing he could do at that time, but to bring the vehicle back in.
A couple weeks later I took the vehicle back to Carl's and rented a car for two days in case additional work was needed. I emailed Carl before returning to Vegas just to ensure everything was ready to go. He responded yes. When I picked up the vehicle, Carl wasn't in and his office assistant said everything was fine, an alignment was all that was needed. Since Carl's email response did
not indicate a payment was due for any service, I did not come with enough cash on hand to pay for the alignment. Enterprise had already dropped me off, so I needed to drive my vehicle to a bank. I was told that was OK, and that it would  give me an opportunity to test drive the vehicle.
I wasn't more than a mile away when I realized the steering was still not right. My gut said not to pay for the service, when clearly the steering was still off the alignment wouldn't hold. Still, I wanted to the alignment print out from a shop called Skips Spring Service.
Unsatisfied, I returned to Arrow. Clearly Carl had gone "answer shopping" to another garage that would back his opinion. That gesture is a huge pet peeve of mine. Joe was completely empathetic and took the initiative to help. He priced the bushing parts and offered to provide free labor if I purchased the parts. It sounded like a great deal to me!
A month later the window of opportunity appeared and I was able to have the Arrow guys do the work. And quality work it was! Once again, my vehicle's steering handled the way it had for almost 190k. And as promised Joe only charge me for the parts and alignment. Because of their flexibility and responsiveness I left an additional amount.
If only Carl admitted to any of the below, this whole situation could have been eliminated:
The bad rack bushings were related to the steering wheel position and handling
Quote a repair price for bushing replacement or recommend their replacement and refer me to another shop if he didn't want to do the work at Carl's Cool Cars
Say the bushings' condition prevented a proper alignment
It's a shame that Carl gave me the run around knowing that I had taken time off work, made multiple drives into Vegas, and rented a car twice. I originally found Carl's Cool Cars on Angie's List and his work for two years had been everything positive user comments indicated. I'm not sure what has changed in his world, but this experience has given me pause that I will ever return to
his shop.

I called on a Monday morning, expecting to get an appointment by mid-week, but to my surprise, I was told that if I could get the car to their shop by 1pm, they could take care of me. I went down to their shop (a tiny bit hard to find as it's not quite on Decatur. It's in an auto repair alcove off the west side of Decatur. However, it is well-signed) and got there a little after 1pm. The technician, whose card I have misplaced, did a fantastic job, but I'm sure that all of the technicians are competent. There were some walk-in jobs for the shop along the way, and my car was finished by about 5pm, which might seem like a long time, but I think the majority of the time was spent installing the struts, which, if left up to me, would still be in the box they came in. I knew that I could install the rear struts by myself, but after reading how to install the front ones, I was in the market to find someone else to do those, and these guys took care of it for me. The 4-wheel alignment by itself runs about $100, and the alignment seems to be pretty much perfect now. I would highly recommend them for any alignment, front end, or suspension work.

They did a great job and charged less than they would normally for the hours they put in. I would recommend them to anyone with frame or alignment problems.
