TrueGreen Carpet Care

I called TrueGreen to ask some questions about their carpet cleaning methods and spoke to Jeff, the owner/operator. My goal was to remove an odor coming from my carpet. This company advertises a "green" cleaning method, so I asked Jeff some questions about the odor neutralizing solution they use as I can be sensitive to fragrances and chemicals. He said he didn't know what was in the solution, but that he could call his parent company to find out and then get back to me. Well, he never called me back. I called him a week later and he said he never got a response from the company and then just forgot to follow up. OK, that's not great customer service, but since TrueGreen is one of the few supposedly environmentally-friendly carpet cleaners in the area, and I really needed my carpet cleaned, I figured I'd give him another shot. I set up an appointment and asked if it would be OK if I took a look at the odor neutralizing solution when he came over and decided whether I wanted to use it or not (this is an optional service that costs extra, BTW). He agreed and we made the appointment. As with a lot of services of this kind, he wouldn't set an exact time, but instead gave me a window of a few hours. This is another customer-unfriendly practice, in my opinion, but I figured it's pretty standard with these kinds of companies, so I let it go by. To make a long story short, I waited around the day of the appointment, but he never showed up! Never even called to say he wasn't going to show up. He just completely blew me off!! This guy is obviously a complete flake. How he manages to stay in business is a mystery to me. Bottom line, if you need your carpets cleaned, I strongly recommend you don't use this service (after all, you may not get it!).
