This was a disaster, from start to finish! After closing on the house, we hired 'Your House Helpers' to perform the needed work, while we prepared to move into the house from another state, a process that took about 3 months. We saw the carpets after they were cleaned (mediocre quality work), on our first trip back. The other work, we were assured, was 'completed' during the first week of August, 2009 (we were notified by email). We arrived in the wee morning hours of Aug. 28 (our move-in date), and were shocked to discover that VERY little work had been done. Task 2 had not been performed AT ALL, and the only cleanup (task 4) that had been performed was the kitchen/range (nothing else had been touched), ie, cabinets, sinks, windows, countertops...all dirty; and the dead tree branches (we discovered this later, when we just happened to peer over the back wall) had been illegally 'dumped' onto the private property behind ours. Two other attempts were made to get the issues resolved/completed, and each time we were assured that the tasks would be performed...about half of the floor was completed, some ceiling fan blades were wiped down, and NOTHING else was completed. We had held back some of the payment, in hopes of 'encouraging' this contractor to live up to his word, and when he returned and made an attempt to finish, we were reassured and paid the balance (big mistake). Again, there was always an excuse...crews arrived with little equipment (not enough tools or cleaning supplies), and the work was never completed. They never returned our door keys, so we had to change all our locks (again). We would NEVER hire this contractor again, nor advise anyone else to use them. It appeared that their intention, since we were out of state, was to simply 'take the money and run'. The contractor's representative put on a good act of 'surprise' to see that the work had not been performed, but after previously emailing us pictures of the 'completed work', he had to have known it was not performed! (One could not truly determine from the pictures the extent or quality of work done). Obviously, we now know that we were royally scammed. We took the guy at his word, and he took our money. Lesson learned!!
