I should have realized Bob had no clue when he knocked holes in the adjacent walls in my living room and office while attempting to remove the old shower/tub. To make matters worse, like a two-year-old, he thought he could get away with it without telling us. He quietly left and went to Lowe's, hoping to repair the damaged walls, plaster the holes, and match the paint. Oh, wait ... it gets worse! He must have been nervous sneaking back in to cover up the damage because, OOPS, he spilled beige paint all over the blue wall in the hallway. He also managed to spill the beige paint on the tile floor, baseboards, and an Indian rug. Continuing on with this fiasco, he attempted to clean the paint out of the rug because I discovered the wet rug left to dry on the tile floor.
Because I knew I needed Bob to finish the job, I didn't make a big scene about the damaged walls, ruined Indian rug, etc. If you can believe it, things went downhill from there. With the shower installation half completed, Bob just walked off the job. It took me about 6 weeks to get my credit card company to reverse most of the charges ... which they did willingly after they saw my documentation.
The shower and faucet installations were completed by the tile guys. Of course, I had to pay them because Bob certainly wasn't around to live up to his contractor's obligations. The shower leaks and I put towels down to catch the overflow. I would never, ever recommend Village Plumbing to anyone.
And why have I decided to join Angie's List at this time? Well, I need a competent plumber! I've recently discovered the baseboards are pulling away from the walls in the living room/hall which are adjacent to the bathroom shower. Looks like moisture is causing this problem. One more "gift" from Village Plumbing.
