Electrician followed troubleshooting logic by checking power at the main electrical service panel, tightening up any loose wires. Then he followed switch logic and proved that power at switching was perfect. Then he moved to switch leg and found 2 ceiling can light fixtures with faulty factory connectors. He replaced connectors in 7 cans and restored power. Repair required entry into the attic space and took about 4 1/2 hours. All lights now operating properly. Electrician was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous taking time to explain his work.

Excellent. The electrician, was on time, very pleasant, helpful and polite. The house was spotless when the job was completed. Tom Sarnelli is an ethical and honest businessman and we trust him with our safety and will be contacting him in the future for all of our electrical needs. Highly recommended!
Response from Southwest Electric LLC

The electrician came back a second time and was very professional. We discussed in detail what my concerns were and added more to the original project. I received a quote within 24 hours. I appreciated the courtesy of a return visit. I was able to make a better decision on what should take priority.

The technician who performed the work was more like a demolition artist. If you don't mind your house looking like a total disaster after work is completed then this is the company to hire! The price was right but remember "You get what you pay for"
Response from Southwest Electric LLC
"We are very sorry that our technician did not meet your expectations. We strive to make ALL of customers happy, but sometimes we come up short in our heartfelt endeavors - after all, we are human beings as well. We spoke to the technician that did this work, and he said that you gave him a $20.00 tip. Which would be indicative that you were happy with the work he performed. In the future, please feel free to contact us if you have ANY problems with our field staff and we will do whatever we can reasonably do to meet your expectations."

The electrical outlets are working; I could have taken care of them myself if I had known that all I had to do was press a small button.
Response from Southwest Electric LLC
"While we appreciate the fact that you think and or believe that you were "ripped off," please know that it costs us a lot of money to send an electrician out to your house. We have to not only pay for his salary, worker's comp. insurance, payroll taxes, gasoline for the vehicle he drives, insurance and registration on the trucks, maintenance, business insurance, licensing fees, and other government imposed fees in order to keep our doors open. On top of all that, we need to make a profit to stay in business. Apparently, you don't understand these facts. Obviously, you have never ran a business or had to meet a payroll. Otherwise, your "lose" would be understandable by you. No one from SOUTHWEST Electric "forced" you to pay anything. You paid for a service that we provided - that is it. Plain and simple. The fact that you did not have the knowledge or experience to troubleshoot your own electrical issues, is immaterial. You paid for our knowledge and experience. And, at $129.00, believe me, we did not make whole lot after expenses. In fact, that barley covers our direct costs. There are other electrical contractors in this town that charge in excess of $500 for the same work we did for you - and you got only charged $129.00. My suggestion is this, next time you have an electrical problem, call around and get estimates over the phone - and you will see that our rates are very reasonable."

Work was performed. No consideration or respect for home. Didn't forewarn me before creating a huge mess of wood shavings and other debri from working up in ceiling. He could have given me the chance to spread plastic but didn't. I have all new carpet, the dust, wood chips, ceiling material and pieces of insulation were all over everything. The company itself provided good service as far as contacting me right away and setting up the appointment I needed. Just didn't care for the attitude of the electrician or the mess he left. I paid $160 for two hours, pretty pricey for a sarcastic attitude and a mess. He did install the four hall lights as I wanted. But, I went upstairs to check progress on the two hall lights being installed and he had just finished installing the one in the picture and as you can see he installed it offset from the opening from the old recessed light stating that there wasn't enough length of wire left by original electrician (1975). Well, I can understand that, but isn't that something you determine before you move forward and install a light and leave a big hole in one's ceiling???? When I saw it, he was rude and said "you wanted the light installed, I guess you have some drywall repair to do" One more thing. I have 3 small dogs, and I had to constantly follow behind him and close the man door to the garage as he was going in and out and kept leaving it open!!!! The automatic garage door was up so he had access to his truck. Again, no respect. The more I think about it the madder I get, so I will just stop.
Response from Southwest Electric LLC
"There is an old saying that goes: "You get what you pay for." This is the quintessential example of just that. The fees you paid for the work that was done, was not only cheap, but an outright give away. The electrician that we sent out gets paid very well by the hour, and we expect him to move fast and get the work completed in a safe, and code compliant manner. It is not his responsibility to keep track your animals and make sure that they don't run out on the street. We are not there to baby sit your animals. Moreover, your house is very old and in dire need of major renovations and upgrades. We can only do what we can with the limited time you paid for. This service under normal circumstances, would have costs three or four times as much as what you paid. But, you got a very good deal for the services we provided. I suggest that next time you should get multiple bids from licensed contractors before complaining about how dissatisfied you were after spending $181.00 for OVER two (2) hours of work plus materials from our company. And just so you know, the electrician that went to your house gets paid very well and we not only pay for his salary, worker's comp. insurance, payroll taxes, gasoline for the vehicle he drives, insurance and registration on the trucks, maintenance, business insurance, licensing fees, and other government imposed fees in order to keep our doors open - we need to make a profit to stay in business. Apparently, you don't understand these facts. Obviously, you have never ran a business or had to meet a payroll. Otherwise, you would be understandable as into why this project went the direction it did."

I wasn't able to make the appointment myself so I asked my daughter to be there for me. I was told the electrician who came to my house was polite and got right down to business. Within a few minutes he diagnosed the box and asked about any concerns about the rest of the house. The solution was telling her how to fix the other issues. He also pointed out a problem which needed to be repaired but never offered to make an appointment to come back. The gentleman also stated that a diagnostic email would be sent which was never received. It's been over a month since the appointment and still no email. I'm a little disappointed in the lack of follow up.

Originally the permit for the City of Henderson (offices only open 4 days a week until 4 p.m.) was left-off and the completion of the work had to be rescheduled for NV energy. But, overall the work went well. They showed up on time and we are satisfied with the workmanship.

"Hi: We are very sorry that you did not read the fine print in the $79 deal. It was very clear that the new outdoor outlet had to be within 12" of the new location of the outdoor outlet. We would have been very happy to provide with you quote if you wanted it installed ten (10') feet away. But, as stated above, the fine print was VERY clear that it was within 12" of an existing outlet. Also, we tried to communicate with you numerous times BEFORE going to your home but we were not successful in our endeavors. We wanted to make sure you understood what you were paying for, but you never bothered to call us back. Good luck on your project, and I suggest you read ALL of the fine print before purchasing another deal - especially if it is only $79. Thank you and good luck next time."
