I ordered a part from Sears. I found out an hour later that the part was not needed. I called to cancel the order. I was told that I couldn't stop the order. I received the order and returned it at the Sears Parts store on Warm Springs. They did not refund the complete price of the part: Paid $48.52 for the part, $4.65 Sales Tax, and $9.99 Shipping. They refunded $46.08 for the part and nothing else. If they had allowed me to cancel the order I would not have paid shipping. They kept the sales tax: I believe that is ILLEGAL. I have learned my lesson... AMAZON OR NOTHING.

We had an extended warranty that we got after our last water heater was repaired. It paid for all the labor and the parts; it was great. They were very good. We called them late in the afternoon and they took care of it the next day. Last time it was the controller that had a problem and they did not have the parts; it took two weeks to get the parts. Since then they have learnt their lesson and they are all carrying the parts on their truck. It was just simple matter of having the parts available and being able to fix the same problem; we were pleased they were carrying the parts with them instead of having to order them. We paid nothing, but the cost of labor and parts was $450; to us that was a big deal. The price was what we expected and we had taken a warranty which was only $100 for three years so that was a big saving for us. They were responsive this time and they did a good job.

The repairman walked over to my sink and simply turned on the water underneath the faucet. I expected the $70 service fee, but to be charged $132 is outrageous.

Overall, Sears service continues to be great!
I contacted Sears Repair Center to come to my home to service the refrigerator's ice maker since I have a home warranty protection agreement on my appliance(s) to fix problems.The service charge would have been $132.00 without it. A confirmation of the appointment from Sears, and a call prior to the Service Technician Trey's arrival was what I expected and received. He was very professional, listened to the issue regarding the ice maker, explained and demonstrated why the ice maker was not dispensing what we wanted after making selections on the refrigerator door panel.
It turned out to be a matter of timing mechanically for the lever inside the ice maker to switch to the command requested. Basically, I was informed of the ice maker's cubed and crushed ice functions. Plus, no major issue was found that required a part to be ordered. Trey made an adjustment in the alignment of the ice maker drawer inside the freezer, and all is well.
I complimented him on the worked he performed by taking part in a Sears survey, mentioning he had provided us with service before on the refrigerator, and continues to do a great job! We concluded our business with a handshake. I will continue to do business with Sears.
