Mother Daughter Cleaning

"Member hired us..no contact or directions from his wife at all. we were postponed to work due to a MAJOR cockroach infestation. I referred him to my bug service..which told us it was a health hazard to clean for a week. We came in and cleaned anyway. We were asked to work hourly...no more than 2 hours for 2 people..to clean up roach feces..and wipe walls..as they were being painted. We were to only wipe bug spray off walls. we cleaned rest rooms..walls counters, cabinets etc. No floors..due to him having to remove flooring due to infestation. When wife came, she complained that marks were on walls..we were not hired to clean walls..only to clean bug residue and feces...to prep for paint etc. We worked (daughter is a 20 year old ADULT, btw) for 3.5 hours non stop with NO breaks..we did not even use rest room..(for fear of disease honestly) Wife brought neighbor over...she complained to me..I asked her if she was willing to pay..as we were prepared and willing to clean all night..but were on an hourly rate. Obviously she was not. Member thanked me..said not as much was completed as he had hoped..BUT WAS PAYING AN HOURLY FEE..AND SAW THAT WE WORKED NON STOP FOR THE ENTIRE TIME..AND WAS APPRECIATIVE for the work..that his WIFE did not want to pay us..but he had to say that we did what we could. This home was the dirtiest and most disgusting home I have ever been in..and we all had to bathe asap. My daughter who had asthma was taken to the hospital that evening due to an asthma exacerbation from the filth and cockroach feces. The home would have taken days to clean to the Mrs. Standards..she rented it out to filthy people...they got exactly what they paid for..my work...my employees..20 and 21 years old..both hard working..and no breaks. We stopped due to no more light..and he only wanted to pay a certain price. Again..Member was not involved in contract...therefore had no clue what job entailed. I feel that if they wanted more hours...we would have gladly stayed..and this was an unfair report. I disagree wholeheartedly. They paid for hourly labor..they got hourly labor..you cannot turn a sows ear into a silk purse..ever. I take PRIDE in my work...I should have turned this job down due to health reasons...and safety reasons..and I should have known better..but when we got there I felt an obligation to follow through. My bad for trying to help someone in need."
