JCR PLASTERING

After tearing out about five feet of ceiling and sucking up as much of the water as I could with a shop vac, I called several drywall contractors for estimates. Carlos from JCR called me back on Saturday morning as soon as he got his messages and suggested coming out Monday morning for an estimate. When I told him I wanted to move quickly, he changed his schedule and came over on Saturday afternoon. Carlos was precisely on time, friendly and professional. He understood that you can't put new drywall back up on wet wood (not all of my potential contractors did), and he explained what he planned to remove and how he was going to make sure that everything was totally dry before putting up new ceiling. He wrote the estimate on the spot and left a written copy with me. I selected JCR on Monday and called Carlos. He agreed to be there at 8am on Tuesday with his crew. He was right on time Tuesday with one other guy. Tuesday they pulled down the damaged ceiling. In the process, they noticed some slight dripping where water was still collected above the second floor and dripping down slowly. He completely dried it and didn't install that part of the ceiling until last, giving it several hours to be sure all the water was gone. By the end of Tuesday, all the ceiling was up, taped, mudded, and textured. Of course, all of this happened within a complete screen of plastic that they put up at the beginning of the day. The entire room was screened in; every wall was covered, and all of the carpet, furniture, and belongings were protected. During their work, they noticed two other areas on my ceiling where I had previously made holes to install my speakers. My patches were OK, but not perfect. You could see where I had cut the holes if you knew where to look, but a casual observer would never notice them. JCR fixed those two older patches and made sure to include those areas in the new texture. They are completely invisible now. They worked until about 7pm on Tuesday. Right on time at 8am Wednesday, they were back. They actually had a to wait a bit because the texture was not yet fully dry. They installed a big fan and let it run for a while. They rest of the day, they painted the entire ceiling, not just the parts they had repaired. Then they cleaned up. I wasn't left with any trash. When I was dealing with the water, I had moved all of my furniture and had taken down the speaker where the water was coming down. JCR re-installed my speaker and moved all of my furniture back into position.
