What made this experience so worthy of sharing was the fact that I had to have two extra keys made on Saturday, and when I went to Lowes, they told me I'd have to use a professional locksmith because the big-box stores didn't carry the particular brand of key I needed. Well, after calling around town, I couldn't find a locksmith with a storefront that was open on Saturday. I then called Houdini Locksmith and talked to Lou, the owner. He has a mobile operation, but I didn't want to pay an exorbitant amount to have him drive to my house just to make two keys. He thought for a second, and then asked me where I lived. I told him Henderson, and then he suggested that I drive to HIS house, and he'd make me the two keys for $5.00. Talk about going above and beyond for a first-time customer! So I drove over, he met me in his driveway, and he used the machine in his van to make the keys. Obviously, Lou didn't have to make that offer and do a favor for someone he didn't know--but in this age of inferior customer service, it proved that there are still a few people out there who are willing to go that extra mile to help.
