Melvin Hallerman Coldwell Banker in Las Vegas, NV - This is the worst realtor I have ever dealt with in my life! In fact, if there were a zero star I would give it to him. He is a bully, obnoxious, rude and borderline dishonest. He represented the seller in my transaction of buying a home in Vegas. From the beginning, he misrepresented almost everything about the house. He drew up a fraudulent "comparison analysis" that looked like an appraisal in order to try and convince us his client's home was worth the $100,000 more they were asking than we wished to pay. He is not an appraiser and by law should not present anything like an appraisal to clients. Then he and the seller implied that the sellers had done an extensive remodel of the home and it was "practically brand-new" when in fact they had remodeled some aspects of the home but "totally new electrical and plumbing as well as new air and heat" were basically a lie (unless 1998 is in the realm of "brand new"). The sellers implied the refridgerator went with the home (both my agent and myself understood this straight from the seller's mouth) but then took the fridge with them. They listed a water conditioner and filtration system for the home then palmed off a gadget that looked like a thermostat with wires hanging out of it as the water conditioner. It was supposed to keep scale from building up in your pipes but provided no filtration - that would have been the refridgerator if it had stayed with the property! But the worst of the situation came at the time of the final walk through. The sellers took the draperies as well as the automatic pool vacuum. When confronted, this agent had the gall to rant and rave about how unappreciative we, as the buyers, were for even getting the house at the appraised value and we should be grateful because in exchange for the drapes and pool vac the seller had on their own decided to leave for us pictures in the game room of dogs playing poker, a rug under the pool table and two enormous urns in the front yard - all amounting to more than $4000 (in their opinion) in exchange for some sleazy drapes and a pool vac! Never mind we specifically stated the drapes and pool vac in our contract. This man had no intention of ever telling his clients they needed to honor the terms of the contract. Finally, this man tried to intimidate us by telling our agent that if we delayed in closing, someone would go back to the house and take everything out. Honestly, I thought I was dealing with Tony Soprano! If you ever see the name Melvin Halllerman I suggest you turn and run! I am considering filing a complaint against him with the department of licensing as I feel he actually encouraged and abetted his clients in breaching the terms of our contract. Take your business elsewhere and shame on Coldwell Banker for keeping such disreputable people in their business structure.

As we're currently living in Syracuse, NY and building 2400 miles away we rely heavily on Mel and Debbie Hallerman to be our eyes and ears at the building site. There are a series of periodic building inspections that occur during the various phases of building the house and Mel has attended each one for us.
We have a family member who lives in Boulder City and he's been invited to attend these inspections as our representative, too.
The Hallerman's work as a team with Debbie doing the majority of the showings and Mel doing the back-office and financial work for their clients. The team concept really works for them.
We hated having to spend more than we'd hoped, but we are VERY pleased with the area of the city (SW) and the experience. We should be closing around Christmas and expect to be moving our household goods into the house by the middle of January.
In a situation such as ours, the Hallerman's have been ambassadors for the city of Las Vegas and they have certainly done their job. They've reached out to us and pro-actively met our needs with just the right balance of friendly and professional.
I think I'm going to like living in Vegas!
