Pool and Spa Servicing
Honesty and integrity are NOT what you'll get here. I just now received and invoice for moving my hot tub 6 months ago. Since I paid for the job in full when they moved it, imagine my surprise when I saw the invoice was $150 LESS than what I paid Tony. There were no extra fees AND they damaged my tub when they moved it. When my daughter and I went into the store to find out why I was overcharged and receiving an unpaid invoice for a job long since paid in full to both Tony and the electrician, Tony was very patronizing to us both, stating he was doing me a favor by "taking care of it". AND when my daughter asked him not to be condescending to us he stated, "I can condescend to whoever I want". Hope pocketing that extra $150 was worth it Tony.

Pool and Spa Servicing
Tony hired the worst subcontractor to build the spa deck, and provided them with a very very low quality of materials. By the time I saw it, the spa was already placed on the deck and filled with water. The spa platform was literally crumbling from the shoddy and inadequate construction job. The electrician did an OK job installing the panel, but left an exposed conduit running to the bottom of the spa. The spa itself had a dysfunctional "water feature", and I lost count of how many times I had to argue with Tony to get that fixed.
Anyway, the saga began with Tony refusing to fix anything related to the spa platform. As it was originally made with a couple small pieces of 4x4 lumber (no concrete piers) and plywood, it was not going to last. Even if the spa platform was made to anything resembling a building code, it was too small to allow for any safe/reasonable entry/exit to the spa itself. There was no place to put any kind of steps or railing.
It took numerous complaints to Tony, BBB, Hot Springs corporate, etc just to get his attention. Finally, Tony agreed to help by temporarily relocating the spa so that we could (at our own expense) build a new deck.
Fortunately, we found a decent contractor the second time to build the replace and expand the deck. Tony did actually come through with the offer to temporarily relocate the spa and put it back. He also agreed to help with periodic cleaning of the spa (in lieu of actually coming up with cash to rebuild the shoddy platform).
So, here's where the real problem started. We don't think he was doing any job (or at least any good job) maintaining the spa. We found dirty conditions sometimes, failing chem tests, and missing/empty bromine dispensers. Emails with pictures or chem test results would go unanswered. We had no visibility in the dates (or lack thereof) of when the spa was treated. The only response we would ever get is that we needed to pay for (yet) another drain and fill.
Where is the responsiveness? Where is the professionalism? He's only there when he wants to sell a spa.
Finally, after the property management company complained that the spa was dirty in January, we paid him for yet another drain and fill. He took the cash and we assumed that the drain and fill was done -- WRONG. He wouldn't do it, so we asked for a refund on the agreed upon service. He basically said in an email that he no longer wanted to service my spa for free or for money.
The water feature is still broken.
Don't ever use this guy, take my word for it!

Response from HOTSPRING SPAS ltd
"The member has a vacation rental in Lake Tahoe which his tenants have treated his hot tub poorly. Other than referring him to a handy man that had previously done quality for me his complaints are unfounded. His water feature has always worked. We believe this was a operator error. He continues to this day to ask for FREE items claiming inferior quality. I drew the line with a YEAR of free service to try and mend a fence for a poor handy man recommendation. We wish him well but don't really want to debate his account on line."
