Hoffman Plumbing

When Joe Hoffman, from Hoffman Plumbing came to our home , he gave us a reasonable verbal estimate to have the kitchen and bathtub faucets replaced. He even ordered the faucet for the kitchen at that time. However, when his son, Jessie, came on 18 December to replace it, after removing the old one, decided it did not fit. Jessie then removed the bathtub faucet, and that new faucet did not fit either. Jessie wrote out an invoice for the amount of $326.25, although none of my requests had been fulfilled, nor any new faucets installed, at least work had been done and he tried. I signed and paid the $326.25. I enclose a copy of that invoice which I had signed and paid for. Jessie then ordered a faucet for the bath tub, but failed to measure for size. On the day of our appointment to install the bathtub faucet, Jessie called and wanted to come by in a half hour to look at the new faucet he had ordered. Since my husband had been taken to emergency and hospitalized with pneumonia, and I was ready to leave to go see him, I said I could drop the box with the new faucet off at wherever he was. He said no, that he'd come by right now , which he did. So, when Jessie arrived, before doing anything else, he ran in with his measuring tape and measured the bathtub faucet outlets. Unfortunately, his "guess" to order a 9" which is the more common size, was wrong and the correct size is 11". Jessie then said he was going to charge me (for his mistake) and I said I refuse to pay for something he should have known to measure BEFORE ordering, a very simple task. And besides, he'd done nothing at all except to finally measure for faucet size, which SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE before ordering. At the time I agreed to let Hoffman Plumbing work for us, it was for them to install new faucets, not for me to pay for Jessie's schooling, which seems to be seriously lacking in plumbing knowledge. and from my perspective they should send Jessie back to school. On this day, the only thing he did, was to belatedly measure for the faucet size (a matter of less than five minutes) which SHOULD have been done BEFORE ordering!! I therefore refused to accept the invoice, nor did I sign for it. When I received an invoice for his non-work, in my email, someone had forged my signature!! I consider this charge of $145,00 fraudulent. $145.00 to measure for a faucet AFTER it was already ordered and received?? And then to forge my signature? ?? I would expect any reputable company to immediately remove these charges and send their apologies..... ..... and perhaps pay for further tuition for Jessie.
